Great Stay!

We loved staying on this property! So close to the beach and not far from the main road. The owners were on property as well and were so helpful and accommodating. The house was the perfect size for our stay, would definitely return to this property!

Loved our Little Getaway!!!

Amazing stay at this home. Perfect location, very comfortable, everything needed for our stay. John and Michele are wonderful hosts! Horses came right to the house! Was an awesome place and really great time! We will definitely go back! Loved everything about the trip!

Perfect

From the great communication pre arrival, to John coming to escort us up thru high tide, to the cleanliness, to the comfort…all was perfect. The house was even better than the pictures portrayed. We had a fabulous time….and can’t wait to return!

Wonderful stay

Property was clean and decorated nicely. Driving on beach was new for us but awesome. The house had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Going to the beach was easy, just grab a chair that is provided, small cooler, and take a short walk over the dune! The owners live a driveway away and are very friendly and attentive.

Great little getaway!

The property was great! Small but efficient. Everything we needed. The owner was very nice and available for any questions we had. Horses came right up to the house. Beautiful area. Definitely recommend.

beautiful getaway!

This property is just as listed! Very clean and everything you need,( just bring food and drinks.) The owners were so helpful and available for anything. They managed to help us see the ponies!!! I love that it is off the beaten trail and over the sand. Peaceful and quiet. We are definitely going to book with them again! Wonderful hidden gem!

If you don’t book this place you'll regret it! On the ocean amongs the dunes you'll find this wonderful little beach house. Equipped with all you need and beautiful view of the ocean and the wild horses you will not find a better place. This place is the perfect getaway and escape. The host John is the perfect host, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Made us feel right at home and it feelt like visiting a friend. We will absolutely be back again.

Great OBX Experience

This small house was perfect for our small family. My wife and I traveled with our toddler and dog for a great beach vacation in the 4x4 area of Corolla. The house comes well equipped for cooking at home and boasts a great wrap around deck to soak in some evening sunsets over the ocean. Great communication with the owners and the house has some fun features like a nice outdoor shower, an extra fridge/freezer underneath, and nice tall deck chairs to watch the kiddo play in the sand or catch some of the famous wild horses that frequented the back of the house area.

Quiet and Relaxing Winter Get Away

We had an amazing stay at this VRBO property! The house was perfect for our needs, located right on the beach with spectacular views. The location was great, and the hosts were beyond accommodating. The house was clean, comfortable, and had all the necessary supplies to make us feel right at home. Communication was excellent, and we felt well taken care of throughout our stay. I was a little nervous about driving on the beach, but the host, John, went above and beyond to ensure our safety. He even came out to meet us halfway when the tide was too high on our return. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back for another stay in the future. Thank you to the hosts for making our stay so memorable!

Amazing Experience with Wonderful Hosts

This is one of the most special places we've ever stayed in (and we are all experienced world travelers). The location is beautiful and secluded yet accessible. We had both sunset and sunrise views over the dunes from a wraparound deck. Wild horses visited our property (you know it's a prime spot because the wild horse tours go by on nearby trails). The home was so comfortable and casual and everything you might want for your stay was included -- beachy decor, comfortable bedrooms with dune/ocean views, nice linens, completely equipped kitchen, beach chairs and even an outdoor warm shower!. John and Michelle are such great hosts - they are nearby and are so friendly but also give you as much privacy as you might want. A 4WD vehicle is a must but we had no trouble finding and renting one beforehand from TURO - and driving on the sand, especially to walks beyond the super-secluded Virginia border, is an incredible experience.

Escape from the hustle

Had a very nice stay. Owner is very attentive and helpful. Definitely appreciated all of the information and help getting to the location during high tide. The horses came by almost everyday and we got some amazing pictures. House is very clean and has everything you could need. Bring plenty of food because there is no quick run to the store. We planned our trip off the beach based on the tide schedule. There are some houses that block the beach road during high tide and you must use the back roads. I was unfamiliar with needing to air down the tires, so all the information provided by the owner ahead of time was extremely helpful for us to prepare for the trip. There is a park once you get back to the road to air back up, so that was a not an issue. A great place to get away.

Paradise for sale at mile post 17

The Littles have found it and they would love to share it with you. This cozy bungalow features ocean views from almost every room and a wrap-around porch nestled just over the dunes from the waters edge. I figure that from the couch at high tide I'm about 350 ft to the waves, an excellent place to read and enjoy coffee on a blusterey November day. Stop off for groceries and necessities as you drive up the island. Once you leave the pavement youll be hard pressed to go back. I just didn't want to leave. Ever. This is my family's second time as guests of the Littles and there is just something different. They love where they live and they want you to love it too. If you forgot anything at all just open a few cabinets, its probably already there. The home is outfitted in a way that is kind and thoughtful. This location is phenomenal and the hosts are even better.

Welcome to our humble cottage!! We came across this sleepy little house in January 2023 and fell in love with it immediately. It needed help and we knew we were the right people to make it happen. After a lot of sweat and occasional tears, we decided it is time to share this house with the rest of the world. We have had some great memories with our 4 adult children and their families on the 4x4 beach and we know your family will as well!! We joined VRBO in 2018 with another home (5 star reviews) that we sold in 2021. John served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1984 until 2004. He has been on seven overseas deployments ranging from 6 to 9 months in duration. He took that military experience to work for Dominion Energy and was a Senior Reactor Operator at a nuclear Station just north of Richmond VA. After a very short time in retirement, John returned to Dominion Energy part time as an instructor for up and coming operators. Michele has recently retired from her career in Human Resources as well. We have 4 married children and 7 grandchildren. All who love this area as much as we do.

Beautiful views! Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Wild horses roam free and will occasionally visit you at the cottage. In fact, one of the newest additions to the Corolla Wild Horse herd was just born a few hundred yards from our home this spring. She has been in our yard and is adorable!! We are located off road in the 4-Wheel Drive area. Your vehicle must have 4WD or AWD with high enough clearance to get through soft sand. There are no paved roads here.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The home is ocean front. Sit on the wrap around porch with your morning coffee or your evening drink and take in what nature has offered you. The pelicans will glide by. The osprey will fish. The dolphins will frolic. The songs of a content mockingbird may greet you throughout the day or even the romantic call of a whippoorwill in the evenings. Just a short 2-minute walk off of the front porch will have your toes in the water of the Atlantic Ocean.
