Firefly Hill - Renovated farmhouse with large backyard - sleeps 8

This property is centrally located but in a rural small town area in the foothills of central Maryland. It has great views of the mountains and the valley to the north and the pastures of our farm to the south and west. There are four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, as well as a large fenced yard with a grill, hammock and fire ring. The main bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with clawfoot cast iron bathtub/shower. The second bedroom hosts a full bed and shares a full bathroom with the third bedroom, which has two twin beds and a walk in closet. The fourth bedroom is located on the ground floor and doubles as an office and library. Prepare for relaxation and calm atmosphere!
Nearby attractions are numerous, but some highlights include Frederick, MD with tons of great restaurants, shopping, art and city parks; Harpers Ferry at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, a national historic site and great outdoor adventures; the battlefields of Antietam, South Mountain, Monocacy and Gettysburg are nearby; and many great places in FREDERICK COUNTY to visit.
There is an office with a large desk for a workspace, and a library stocked with books. The front porch has a great view of the valley and mountains- it's the perfect spot to watch the fireflies or a passing thunderstorm. We hope you enjoy this house as much as we do.

This is a quaint 100 year old farmhouse. Very cozy with lots of room. It has good appliances and worked well for making family meals. The bedroom downstairs has an amazing library of eclectic books. So many interesting topics. Beautiful grounds close to Frederick for shopping and supplies. Our family enjoyed it.

Beautiful farmhouse less than 20 minutes from Frederick. All of the charm you would expect with updates like new windows, doors and appliances. Very comfortable and exactly what we need. We couldn't be happier with our stay!

This house was so charming! We enjoyed gathering at the kitchen table for coffee by the gas fireplace. There was plenty of room for our family of seven and our dog. The kids played ball with our dog in the large backyard. They also played some of the board games and read books available at the house. We would have enjoyed the outdoor fire pit if we had more time. Check in and was very easy and the owner responsive and helpful with questions. We were in the area for a wedding in Leesburg, VA. Would love to visit again someday!

Charming house and property

We loved the history of the house and the privacy of the yard. The house has been updated in keeping with the history of it which was nice. There was plenty of space for our whole family and lots of bathrooms. It is out of the way in a rural, small town, but still easily accessible to Harper's Ferry, Frederick, Baltimore, and D.C. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay there. The beds were very comfortable and the house is clean and well-kept. I have two suggestions for making it even better. A porch swing on the front porch facing the beautiful view would be lovely and the bathrooms need to have some kind of hooks or over the door hangers for wet towels. We would love to stay there again sometime.

The house was perfect for our family reunion! It had everything we needed and then some, lots of character, very comfortable beds, and was big enough to have more family join us for dinner ā€” just the perfect spot for us to gather from as far away as Alaska and Tampa. Firefly hill is as advertised

Lovely property and a great stay except for the weather. Called the owner about getting some firewood for the pit in the yard and he got it to us the next am. Definitely well worth the price paid

Cozy home in a very cute town!

We were very pleased with the stay. The owners were very caring and attentive to our needs! The home was ready for a last minute booking! We were very appreciative! Highly recommended! Wonderful home away from home for Christmas!

I rented this wonderful place for my extended family so that we could all stay in the same place for Christmas. We had 8 adults and a couple big dogs, and it could not have been better!! Not only is the place beautiful, comfortable, clean, and cozy, but it also had everything we needed to make a big Christmas meal (and many in between!). The dogs LOVED the huge, fenced-in yards, and my family had plenty of room to spread out. Its location is ideal: Itā€™s only an hour from my home in Northern Virginia, and we enjoyed a day trip to Harperā€™s Ferry, which is only 15 minutes away. Dianisha was a helpful and responsive host! Instructions were very clear, simple, and easy to follow. We loved our stay, and we hope we can come back one day!
