Bright, Beautiful, Private Guest House on a large lovely estate property. You enter into your very own Guest House, it feels bright, beautiful living area, kitchen ready to move in and make any type of a meal. The furniture is new and comfortable. Great views out your 18 windows, all with new blinds. Your view is beautiful property not other houses.
Your private bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, King bed, wood floors and a wall of closets. The living room has new carpet, two new sofas, Smart flat Screen TV, Free 5G fast wifi, lovely views of the lawn and gardens.
The newly renovated bathroom with a 48 x 36 tiled shower and sky light above, has wood floors. Fresh and new.
The large screened porch with sofa lounge area, Fire pit, table & chairs, ceiling fans, sky lights, lighting, is perfect for anytime of the day or night.
Heat and AC.
This is a great opportunity to visit the country for a fabulous experience on an estate property.
You will love taking walks on our quiet 300 year old tree lined street. Horse back riding down the street, tennis and golf with-in 3 miles away.
We have a Basket Ball hoop on site.

Our Historic town is c.1705 has wonderful things to do in every direction. Tours, antiquing, fabulous movie theater. Farris Farm Creamery with the best home made Ice Cream (("on the farm") Lakes w/ Beaches, Restaurants, shopping, winter holiday historic Tree Lighting, Autumn has a Hay maze, pumpkin picking with hay rides, pick your own fruit at Silverman's Farm Easton, is just minutes away with a petting zoo that has buffalo, lama, goats, foul, peacocks, african deer, along with much more. Water falls are minutes away from our property.
Long Island sound is 18 miles of a scenic drive to a State Beach w/BBQ set up and acres of space $3.00 car entry..
Water lined coast with so much to offer, just minutes 30 away.

Country Estate: We are located in South West Newtown with Easton and Redding both on our Road. In walking distance we have an Equestrian Stable for Horse Lessons.
Quiet, Level Road sits on one of the highest hills so the sun sets late and is very beautiful, along with lovely breezes. We are a tree lined street with field stone walls on both sides. With-in one mile there are spectacular waterfalls. There are swimming pools, tennis courts and parks all within 7 miles. Farm Fresh Ice cream stand, Organic Markets, Antiquing. Movies in our 'Edmond Town Hall ' Just renovated and truly Great. Newtown was established in 1705, filled with History and Beautifully Renovated Homes, Fine dinning. Head South to the Sound Long Island Sound just 20 minutes away. Sherwood Island Beach, I95 & I84 & Merritt Pkwy just 15 min

Peaceful Retreat

The grounds were spectacularly lovely in the way that subdued Connecticut way. Peaceful. The screened in porch added to the size and charm of the cottage. The house itself was comfortable. The kitchen was surprisingly well equipped for its size. It was a perfect peaceful place to retreat from the world for a little while.

Relaxing weekend at a beautiful and comfortable cottage

I loved staying at the cottage on this property. The entire property is beautiful, well-maintained and in a great location. Not too far from anywhere you'd want to go. I am thinking of booking the cottage at this time next year.

Exceeded expectations.

Above and beyond expectations. Beautiful property. The guest house could have been it's own property if there were more rooms. Clean and cozy! The porch was so nice my wife said she was bummed we were so busy that weekend that we didn't get to spend more time out on the porch.

beautiful spot!

It was just what we needed for an escape...a beautiful, peaceful location and the house was just right for the two of us and our dog. Plenty of needs taken care of with the kitchen set-up and the screened in porch was the best! We spent most of our time out there as the property is just so lovely that the view alone was worth the trip. As was the trip to Ferris Acres Creamery for a hot fudge sundae! Would definitely go again....it must be gorgeous in the fall.

Cozy retreat

We had a wonderful time at the guest house. It was clean and comfortable - we really enjoyed the big yard for our dog and the screened in porch to relax on. We will definitely stay again.

Peaceful little place

Really enjoyed my stay here. Janet & Steve were very helpful. The place was cozy and clean with everything I needed. Heat and air both worked well. Bed was super comfy. Screened in porch lovely to work in on warm days. Quiet roads where I cycled. I practiced my yoga outdoors on the green lawn. For a country respite, I'd recommend.

Beautiful spring getaway

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time returning to our favorite Newtown VRBO. We’ve stayed here before and loved it. The wild turkeys greeted us again each morning, and we enjoyed coffee on the patio taking in the beautiful views. We hope to come back for future visits!

Perfect rental!

Had the most perfect stay at Janet & Steve’s guest house. Our dog loved the space to run & play in the backyard, and the rental was exactly what we needed for a 4 day stay in Connecticut. The bed is SO comfortable - we had the best sleep we’ve had in months! Thank you, Janet for being the perfect host. We can’t wait to come back again!

Underwhelming

Would have been happier here if the listing was accurate, there isnt much charm here. Old building retrofitted as a rental. Nothing wrong per se just old (minus the character of the surrounding properties). Reasonably tidy although paint, blinds, carpet, ect all at the point of being truly clean. Owners working with whats there but its dated at best. Nice property though rural to be sure. Overstatement to say there is much of anything in walking distance. Bieng in a rustic setting we also walked into a place which was cold, full of beetles, and over our short stay we dealt with two dead mice. Properties electrical and plumbing is retrofit and it affected our stay in that there are only 4 circuits in the house and the microwave killed one of those four circuits knocking out some heat and other sockets. In the end the owner in my case was unreasonable and reactive causing us to leave on poor terms. Problems arising from a discussion stemming from what I felt to be a lack of of response to some of the aforementioned issues. had the management not alienated us we ultimately would have stayed longer if not just for our own convenience. Expect a mediocre place in a nice setting and hope not to have to talk much with management and its ok for the price but is certainly is oversold in the listing.

Homey Guest Cottage

This was perfect for me and my husband to stay. We came back to Newtown to visit family and friends and the cottage was delightful. The weather was warm enough for us to sit out on the screened in porch and enjoy the afternoon warmth and setting of the sun. Perfect location and perfect proximity to great restaurants. We will definitely return to this gem next year.

We had a relaxing visit in Newtown. We didn’t most days seeing the coast and even took a day trip to Providence RI. The setting at the VRBO is quintessential New England.

Idyllic Interlude

We are from Colorado and we’re venturing out of the state for the first time, post COVID-19. We have close friends in Bethel, CT and wanted to be near them for mutual activities. It was the perfect place for us as we were only15 minutes from our friends and yet far enough away to enjoy the peaceful scenery on our drive. We were also close to the Ferris Acres Creamery that serves some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. One of our intentions on this visit was to get some RnR following a string of ailments(yes, including contracting COVID-19) and we were able to accomplish that as we awoke on quiet mornings and enjoyed the view from the enclosed outdoor patio. I would recommend this location for others and will return given the opportunity to do so.

This was a sweet little cottage behind the big house. The back yard was serene, the screened porch was lovely with a gas fire pit. We had a little problem with fresh towels but the host was responsive and things were resolved right away! Great little spot to come to after a long day at music festival!

Beautiful and so peaceful.

This is a real gem and you would be glad to stay here. A cute little cottage on a well kept property. We enjoyed the spacious screened in porch as well and our pups did too. The cottage is clean with nice comfortable furniture. Our host was always available if we needed her. We had everything we needed. We highly recommend this perfect place.

Peace and serenity

From the screened in porch you look out onto a sprawling lawn with beautiful trees. The guest house is very private. The owners thought of everything for a pleasant stay. For us, it was the little things....gas stove, plenty of hot water, plenty of anything you need to be comfortable. We are planning on another stay at the guest house.
