Lady Slipper Lake House is only 500 feet from Higgins Lake! We share a seasonal dock with other owners on Lady Slipper Lane, but no overnight moorage is allowed. In the summer you can use the dock to access the lake to swim, fish, and other water based activities. In the evening, fire up the gas grill, grab a glass of wine and enjoy a campfire in the backyard with our fire pit, six adirondack chairs and picnic table. In the winter, it is just a stone's throw away to enjoy ice fishing and snowmobiling on Higgins Lake.

Lady Slipper Lake House is located 2 miles from South Higgins Lake State Park where you can launch your boat in the summer and 1.8 miles from the Cross Country Ski Headquarters from wintertime cross country skiing. We are located an hour and a half from Mackinaw City and Harbor Springs, the start of Michigan's "Tunnel of Trees". It's only a few minutes to state land for hunting, or to enjoy hiking trails around Marl Lake. Within a 30 minute drive you can reach the beautiful old growth forest of Hartwick Pines State Park, and as well as world class trout fishing on the Ausable River. Boyne Mountain resort for winter skiing and tubing is one hour away as well.

There are two bedrooms and and one full bathroom (shower only). We can accomodate 6 guests with one queen bed, one full bed, and two twin beds. The bedrooms were just renovated and one bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a set of twin bunk beds and a full size bed. If you need to work remotely there is also a desk in the bedroom with the queen bed. The house is cooled in the summer by window units (living room and bedrooms) and heated in the winter by a forced air furnace. Additionally, there are wall heaters in the bedrooms to make sure you are warm and cozy on cold Michigan winter nights.

Pets are welcome for a fee, but you must include them in the VRBO reservation.

We offer free Wi-Fi to our guests and a smart television so that you can access your Netflix or other streaming accounts. Live TV is available through our smart TV's "Youtube TV”app.

The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glassware, pots/pans, silverware, dishtowels, dish soap, sponges, paper towels, and various cleaning supplies. Toilet paper, shampoo, soap, hairdryer, towels, and washcloths are also provided. As an extra convenience, we offer a complimentary coffee and tea bar.
