A beautiful space to getaway and unwind, in the quiet Virgin Creek neighborhood of Girdwood. You'll enjoy feeling a part of the forest as you relax post-adventure in the comfortable living space, enjoy the crackle of the woodstove or take in the fresh air on the back deck. Two bedroom suites, plus an office with a queen futon sofa and a dedicated work space with high-speed wi-fi ensure everyone is comfortable. This is a family and baby-friendly home, so you'll be sure to have a relaxing stay.

The space
We are so happy to have our beloved getaway to share with you! We have put tons of thought and love into all we are provided (garnered from all the notes we have taken traveling ourselves as a family over the years) and will work hard to ensure you love your stay.

Note: ***While thoughtful, cozy and peaceful, this is not a newer home, it is a ski condo that has been well lived in. I and my cleaning team work very hard to make sure it is clean and welcoming for you, but it is imperfect. There are brand new properties in Girdwood, and the hotel if you think that might not work for you.***

There are two other units on the property- the entire home is basically a tri-plex, but the lower units feel quite separate and there is lots of privacy, dedicated parking and exclusive use of the swingset and yard/parking area between the swingset and the house, where there is a small fire pit and chairs you can set up.

This is a great place for two couples or families - the second smaller bedroom suite feels very private as it's accessed through the Sun Room from the main entry. Both of the bathrooms are ‘ensuite’ to the bedrooms.

As you know Alaska is the land of the midnight sun, and the bedrooms and office do not have blackout curtains, so bring an eye mask if you think you’ll have trouble with that.

The Sun Room itself is very lovely, I adore cozying up in the chair, with my morning coffee or watching the kids run around outside . It's also a great place to spread out gear bags and dry gear (there is a boot dryer for ski season) without them being underfoot in the house. I also love to stretch out here and do some yoga.

The 'sofa bed' listed in the shared spaces is the Queen Futon in the office.

The internet is provided by GCI - their highest speed unlimited plan - up to 1 Gbps download and 50 Mbps upload so you won't have to worry about missing any meetings.

We recommend using the AirPlay App for easy access to the new HD TV.

This home is very baby friendly, you'll find a Baby Bjorn Bouncer, Bumbo with tray, a baby/toddler chair that attaches to the table, plus a Johnny Jumper to hang from a door frame (in addition to the pack-n-play travel crib, toys, books, puzzles and more).

We love cooking and eating in this kitchen and you'll find decent pots and pans, a nice range and double oven, lovely dishes and glasses, a full side-by-side refrigerator with ice-maker, Alaska Spice Co. Seasonings and lots more plus the basic salt, pepper and oil you'll need. I do my best to make sure there is always coffee, tea and hot chocolate as well.

My kids had a lot of fun picking out some of their favorite books, toys, puzzles and stuffies (with an Alaskan vibe) to share and just request that you do your best to take good care of them.
Other things to note
No Smoking. Any violation will result in a minimum of a $250 cleaning fee, or more. Excess cleaning will be billed at $55/hr.
