A Dream Deferred villa Pelion

We're Katerina and Stavros, spouses, parents to two wonderful boys and senior high school teachers. Thessaloniki is our hometown, and also the city where we live and work. One of our greatest passions apart from our city, our family and our jobs, is travelling, either within Greece or abroad.
We've visited most parts of Greece, including many islands and also the mainland, which is how we came to realise how unique and still authentic the East Pelion area is when we first visited it in 2015. Hosting came pretty naturally to us in 2020, when the opportunity arose, as a combination of our three loves… our love for making people happy, our love for Pelion and our love for travelling, through the insight we have gained from it.
We found that we could tap into that pool of travel experiences as travellers ourselves, in order to identify with our guests' wishes and understand what they need. Cleanliness, became our first priority, because we knew first hand just how important it is in order for someone to enjoy the rest. Accessible luxury, going hand-in-hand with functionality, became our second goal. After all, holidays call for something beyond the ordinary, and a little pampering never hurt anyone… Sustainability is a permanent issue with us, since environmental protection has always been our top priority, as parents, as teachers and as hosts.
The best thing about hosting, we found, is the smiles on people's faces . That genuine smile when they tell us that everything was wonderful, and the only thing they wish would be different would be for them to push back the check-out date. The kids leave thrilled, their parents leave refreshed and rejuvenated, and we're left with that feeling of contentment, because we have succeeded in our mission to offer them an unforgettable holiday.

Our property is right at the edge of Kissos village. It was buit in the heart of the forest, at an altitude of 600 metres, surrounded by chestnut trees, and built right on top of the highest point of a gorge that reaches the Aegean sea down below. This offers dramatic views of Pelion Mountain and the Aegean from all balconies and terraces of the villa, which change, depending on the season. In fact, all the photos and videos won't do justice to the incredible view...

There are various trails that start from villa, or from the centre of Kissos and offer an excellent opportunity for hiking, either organised by professional hikers, or individually.

Kissos is a beautiful, picturesque village that still retains its authenticity, even though it is favoured by many tourists throughout the year and especially during the summer. In the centre of Kissos you'll find Pelion's oldest church, Agia Marina, dating back to the 1650s, as well as a square surrounded by ancient plane trees, cafes, and some of the most famous restaurants in the whole Pelion area.

Kissos is, in fact, a gastronomic destination for all Pelion visitors. At its restaurants you will taste some of the most well-known greek dishes, not to mention that with a coupon from us, you will enjoy a discount for one of the restaurants, as well as for one of the cafes for breakfast, Drinking coffee or having a traditional dessert at the square during the day, or kicking back with a drink in the evening is a whole experience in itself. There are also a bakery, a supermarket and a butcher's, which will cover your every need.

The uniqueness of A Dream Deferred lies in three, or rather, four areas...

First, its interior, consisting of innovative furniture, (for example the "Adventure room", which includes 2 hanging loft beds and a double rocking bed which we designed ourselves and had especially made, all of which make the room pretty unique).

Second, its strategic location, as it is situated within equal distance from the beaches of Agios Ioannis, Plaka or Papa Nero, but also Chania ski resort, which means only a 10-15 minute drive towards either direction, something which helps combine the summer character of the villa with that of a chalet in winter. It is also really close to the main junctions of the roads which lead to the beaches and places of interest, making it the best place to stay in order to explore all beaches in the East Pelion area, rather than staying next to one of those beaches and having to drive all the way up to find the road that will lead you down again, to the rest of them.

Third, by staying at A Dream Deferred, you get to reach sea level and 36-37 degrees Celcious in 15 minutes, and then, go back to sleep at a natural coolness of 23 degrees. This is why most of our guests choose not to use our airconditioning unit most of the time, even though we do have it.

Last, but definitely not least is its position right in the heart of the forest with no other buildings at close range, something which ensures complete privacy, and also right on the cliff, which ensures overwhelming views.
