Better than it looked outside and Really Thoughtfully Done

Thoughtful touches were everywhere. Very Comfortable, clean, and well appointed. I wish all owners/managers had this attention to detail. Great stay.

Eclectic, Comfortable, Spacious & Ideal Location.

Our one week stay in the centralized location of this property could not have been better for us. The essential necessities were all there. Large rooms for a family to enjoy and small outside gathering area in the back. You'll find a little, cozy screened-in front porch and spacious dining and living room. The older style kitchen, and the furnishings were in need of some updating, but more than adequate. You're surrounded by beachy art and an informal atmosphere. Our host, Bryan and Cristie were very helpful, warm and responsive to our questions and needs. You won't find stainless and granite, but you'll enjoy hominess, a safe neighborhood and convenience.

Never going back!

First of all, I really hate to write bad reviews but I felt I needed to write this in order to warn future renters of this property. This is the worst rental I have ever experienced. The first clue was the outside of the house. It is in terrible need of repair and paint. There is a lack of lighting in the living and dining rooms and a lack of usable electrical outlets. The washer/dryer advertised in the listing were both stuffed with dirty sheets and towels and were unusable. All furniture is outdated and in poor conditionUpstairs, there is exposed insulation in the ceiling and no hot water in the bathroom. Outdoor furniture in the back yard is dirty and unusable. Needless to say, I will not return to this place and I will probably not use VRBO again.

Very communicative host in the booking process. Loved the neighborhood and charm of the home. Decor very nice. However, needs coat of paint on outside and inside. Worn looking. Living room furniture is old, cracked and black with wear. Wall unit a/c's did not cool at all making it difficult to get ready and sleep without sweating as no a/c in bathrooms. Upstairs bedroom was not able to be cooled down and instead of a 2 bdr; as we booked, my friend and I had to share downstairs king bed. Not ideal for what we paid for. Very old noisy refrigerator that needs to be replaced and too big for kitchen space. Upstairs carpet needs to be replaced as very old and dirty. Upstairs bathroom has lighting issue making it a strobe light.These were all things that could not have been fixed by a call. And, host was on vacation. We both did send him messages after, hoping for a response or some compensation for the sleeping arrangements but nothing to date. Disappointing to pull up and see grass almost 3 feet high and peeling paint on exterior.Our biggest disappointment was not having 2 bedrooms to use.

Love the area, but the cottage needs help

We loved the neighborhood but the cottage needs help. It was dirty, all the ceiling fans and window air conditioners were filthy. We had some very nice weather and wanted to open widows but most of them wouldn’t open and were missing screens, not to mention the sills were covered with dirt and debris. We had to be very careful on the steps leading to the back yard, they were rotting and we were afraid they might break. We were afraid we might lose power because of the limb hanging on the power line in the backyard.The upstairs shower does not get hot, and the exposed foam insulation in the bedroom should have a protective barrier, for proper structure and human safety, I would not recommend sleeping in this room.We did some laundry as required and noted that the washing machine backed up into the kitchen sink, with a not so nice smell. It’s also almost impossible to retrieve items out of the dryer

Very deceptive

The online pictures do not tell the real story. Unless you were able to zoom in to all the pictures, you can't tell the true condition of the property and rooms. You pull up to the property and go "oh my god". The exterior is in terrible shape, with paint peeling around all the windows, door and other part of the exterior. Wood rotting in multiple locations. My wife would not get out of the car. You enter the property and are immediately greeted by the smell of mold and mildew. The couches and chairs, in the living room, are at least 50 years old and have cracks and tears in them. Mold around the air conditioners. The second floor bedroom has an exposed ceiling with some type of blown in or sprayed insulation. This is not shown in the pictures. Refrigerator had rust and mold on outside. Bach porch was dirty and had rot evident as well as the back stairs. Backyard furniture was dirty and decrepit. We did not stay at this property and have requested a refund. We stay at a hotel at a significant cost. If accurate pictures of the outside of the property were displays, nobody would ever rent this property. When we reserved this property, the rating was 9.4/10; however, when I later revisited the posting on VRBO, after out arrival, I discovered the ratings were not based on previous VRBO renters.
