Large Lakefront Cabin on Rough River

Newly renovated lake-front double cabin accommodates up to 16 guests! Get lost in the rustic luxury of this spacious retreat, featuring dual living spaces, 2 stocked kitchens, 5 bedrooms plus loft bunks and game room! Enjoy the lake forest scenery from the multi-tier deck terrace or explore the natural cliff rock along the private path to the lake. Guests can fish, kayak, paddle board and swim right from the property shoreline! Located just 1 hour from Louisville, Mammoth Cave and Holiday World. The lake: The lake water level will vary throughout the year. The Corp of Engineers (COE) controls the water level and lowers the water level every winter to a “winter pool” and then slowly raises it starting in April to the Summer level. Summer pool is from Memorial Day-October 15th. Dock: Please note we share a dock with our neighbors and Corp of Army Engineers does not allow dock usage to renters. We have three outdoor cameras located at each exterior door into the lodge.

So much more than expected!!

This property looked beautiful online and still exceeded every expectation in reality. EVERYTHING is provided and labeled, room for all 15 guests with ease and check-in, checkout was so simple. Will definitely look to return!

Perfect Lakehouse

The property is so great in every way. Jared and Abby are outstanding hosts. Common spaces supported our group of 18 easily. Teens loved the campfires and kayaks. Kitchen has everything you need. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Beautifully decorated cabin!

We enjoyed this property over the holiday! It has plenty of room and a super layout for all ages to enjoy! The kitchen is unbelievably equipped with everything you need from spices to good cutting knives! A highly recommended spot for a large family or group!

Crochet Getaway

Our group of online strangers met and became lifelong friends at this lovely rental. It was amazingly stocked. I've never stayed at such a well stocked rental that had all the amenities plus so many disposable things that many rentals do not provide..It was so very generous!!

Retreat Getaway

We needed a space large enough for a staff retreat to get away and rest and this property provide just what we needed! Anything you needed it provided and was very organized in where to find things! We had plenty of places to spread out and wonderful accommodations and sleeping arrangements as well as restrooms. It was very clean and modern as well. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope to be back next year! A+++

Beautiful Home

Overall, my stay at this cabin was great. The house was absolutely amazing. It looked just as it did in the pictures online and felt even bigger. Despite getting unlucky with the rain, we were able to enjoy our stay very much. The porch provided a nice dry place to sit by the fire and watch the rain. The owners were very nice and quick to respond to any necessary communication. Checkin and checkout were both very simple. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to get out to the countryside for a weekend.

The house is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Loved the coffee bar. The host has tried to meet their guest every need. They were very easy to communicate with and responded promptly to any questions.

Excellent Easter Weekend

The house is an excellent get away. The house is well stocked. We enjoyed the game room and the outside spaces. The house had a great lay out to accommodate all members of the family and their activity of the moment. Thank you for a great weekend.

Christmas with Family

We had a fun time for Christmas this year! Everyone had a bed to sleep in, everything was super clean and very stocked! We all loved it. The owners let us feel welcomed with all the messages letting us know everything we had to know. Thank you!

2023 Family Christmas

The house was nice and clean, it had everything we needed The ground is rather steep going down to the lake The weather wasn't real pleasant so we spend most of our time inside. We had a great time and would recommend this house to anyone who can go steps

They thought of everything!

You get to the lodge along a long, curvy road that transports you to another place. By the time you arrive, you've left the hustle and bustle of the city. While the cell coverage isn't great, the wifi works perfectly, so you can still stay as connected as you'd like. I have never stayed in a rental that was so well stocked! They thought of everything: spices, dog treats, a wide choice of cookware and servingware, extra blankets, and so much more. It's all there! The kitchenette is also well stocked and includes another refrigerator, so there's plenty of space to store food. The main kitchen's wine cooler allows cold drink storage without using refrigerator space. The place is absolutely beautiful! It's well decorated and so comfortable. The dining table is large enough to seat 12, with more seating around the island in the main kitchen. There is comfortable seating throughout the lodge with so many great places to curl up with a good book. There are games and puzzles throughout the lodge. There are outdoor games on the screen porch, including a great ax throwing game which was a lot of fun. There is a charcoal grill (charcoal included) and a large gas grill on the balcony close to the kitchen. There are decks and balconies across the back that lead down to the river. The edge of the river is rocky, but easily navigated down to the water to enjoy fishing (poles on the screen porch). We enjoyed our time there with three generations of family, and can't wait to go back!

Gorgeous Lake Home

The home exceeded our expectations. Spacious and beautifully decorated with every amenity provided. Gorgeous views right on the lake. The kitchen was well stocked with all supplies provided. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of room for our whole party. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and fire pit. Jared and Ashley were very communicative and attentive to our every need. We can’t wait for our next retreat in the spring to enjoy their beautiful lake home again.
