Walk to Beach, Harbor and Shops! Private Pool / Patio

This is your home away from home when visiting Santa Barbara. Two-bedrooms, 1.5 baths, large covered patio for al-fresco dining, reading, movies, relaxing. Walk up four steps to the large, private, outdoor swimming pool (not heated) and BBQ grill after you've come back from exploring.

Ride the bikes to town or to the harbor or wharf where you can shop, dine out, or just take in the beautiful views and smell the salt in the air (there are two adult and two kids bikes at the house, but you can walk to the Wharf area and rent more.)
Santa Barbara offers wonderful festivities all year round and is famous for it's beautiful Spanish style downtown area, restaurants, beaches, courthouse, museums, zoo, live theater, concerts, shopping and more.

Come stay in a great neighborhood, convenient to everything you need to make your visit fun and relaxing, without the expense of renting a hotel room in this upscale town.

The pool is large, private and has a large deck with patio furniture, BBQ grill and privacy.

If you don't want to walk to Shoreline Cafe (right on the beach!) or Brophy Bros (at the Wharf) for the best clam chowder, fresh oysters, or fish tacos while watching dophins swim by (and the occasional whale), the kitchen has everything you need to make snacks for a picnic at the beach, or cook your meals for an outdoor party in the lanai. There is plenty of seating in the formal dining area, eat-in kitchen or on the patio (there are two!) or pool deck.

The living room has a large fireplace and the den has a TV with cable, and WiFi connection for those with a laptop.

The two bedrooms are cozy . There is a convertible sofa in the den that sleeps one.

The main bathroom has a tub and shower. There is also a powder room convenient to the outdoor patio/pool.

Bicycles, games, books (take one home!), pool toys are all available to make your stay enjoyable.

This home is like a time capsule to the 70s/80s in decor and design. The house is well appointed with everything you need for an extended stay. Ample seating options to lounge around between adventures, excellent location to enjoy the mesa, and quick drive to downtown

Perfect Location

This older home offers the perfect location for biking to Stearns Wharf, State St. and close enough to walk to the beach. The home has a large pool and enclosed patio with ample room for entertaining. Appliances are up to date, the neighborhood is quiet, making our lengthy stay very enjoyable. Our host was quick to respond with questions we had. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Great location, lots of room

Perfect for a family gathering and lots of outdoor space. House had everything that you need and really is walking distance to the coast. Plenty of stores nearby. Very quiet neighborhood. Definitely will inquire as to availability in the future for a return trip.

Mesa sunshine

This is a wonderful house in a wonderful location. It is so close to the beach and Shoreline Park and an easy trek to anywhere else that we wanted to go. The house is spacious and very well equipped. The interior is a bit dated, but that causes no problems at all! Having coffee on the lovely front porch in January was such a treat for a Montana girl. We were just sorry that it was too cold to use the pool. We can’t wait to go back.

We stayed at this comfortable home during June 2023 while a family member was recovering from jaw surgery. The house is more spacious and updated than indicated from the VRBO photos. The location is wonderful - just a 5 minute walk to Shoreline Park, a 10-15 minute walk to the pier and wharf, and a 5 minute walk to City College. The neighborhood is very quiet. Although it was too cold to use the pool, we enjoyed dinners on the pool deck, and using the gas grill. We often ate breakfast on the front patio. The house is very well stocked with kitchen equipment and tools, towels, bedding, games & puzzles, TV's, and wifi - everything we needed. The owner was pleasant, helpful, and responsive to all of our questions. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Excellent accommodations and location

This property is in a fantastic location - easy walking distance to beach/park and not a bad walk to State St! The home is located in a lovely neighborhood, and is well equipped with everything you might need for your stay. It is an older home with older furnishing, but everything is very comfortable and tidy! Dana is very responsive to answer any questions or resolve any issues! We had a wonderful visit, and looking forward to staying here again!

Even lovelier than the photos...

We have rented on VRBO thirty or forty times over the years, and this is one of our favorites. Yes, it’s a bit dated so if you’re someone more accustomed to and preferring contemporary interior design, this might not be for you. That said, everything in the home was totally functional and well thought out (which can’t be said for all rentals)...kitchen appliances, good lighting (electric and natural) throughout, excellent king and queen bed mattresses, large flat screen TVs, comfortable conversation and reading areas (including library with hundreds of bookshelves), every imaginable pot and pan and utensil and dinnerware, large gas barbecue. The home is even more spacious than in the photos. The patios both in front and behind the house offer superb places to enjoy early morning, afternoon and sunset light. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from the pedestrian sidewalk overlooking the entire Santa Barbara coastline; access to the beach is literally blocks away from your doorstep. Dana, who manages the property, was a delight, checking in with us regularly to ensure all of our needs were met. We have already booked our return next year and are counting the days!

Super comfortable home with a great location...

We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Del Sol. We loved its location being walking distance to Shoreline Park, the beach and the Santa Barbara Harbor. We also loved how equipped this house is which has everything plus more for one's stay in SB. The 2 beds were super comfortable and we so enjoyed our family game of Cranium!

Great location near the beach.

House was great. A very short walk to the beach and the Shoreline Café. House was clean and roomy. Had everything we needed. It was nice to have a pool, even though we didn't get a chance to use it, as we spent most of the time at the beach or downtown. Loved the location. Close enough to walk to the beach or downtown and then come back to relax at a quiet home. Good communication with owner. We would book this again when we are in SB next time.

Nice little house with all necessary amenities !

This house is in a perfect location for seeing Santa Barbara.. very convenient to shops and restaurants, the harbor, parks and walking paths . Dana was so hospitable and so easy to deal with . No problems whatsoever ! The house has a great veranda for hosting friends and a nice pool beyond that . Very dog friendly as well ! I highly recommend it ! Very comfortable ..

Great location and stay in SB

I rented this home for four nights when I was in Santa Barbara. This home is large and comfortable. We enjoyed pool side bbq's and the large patio space. I loved the size of the pool and it was large enough to do morning laps, which is a rare find in a vacation rental. The location is great, centrally located to everything SB has to offer and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. The home was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The owner, Dana was a pleasure to work with. I would consider staying here on a return trip.

better than imagining. great house for any family, ir grouo

This was my second time in 2 years. Mesa Beach home is on a quiet neighborhood, with grocery stores nearby, even organic and specialty stores. The Mesa Beach home is kept very clean and well maintained. The 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath with extra sleeping areas from a fold out couch and more sleeping on comfy couches. You can enjoy making dinner in the kitchen or BBQ by the large backyard swimming pool. Dine all fresco in the large, covered patio. Host a family meal or friends and play board a card games in the patio. Bikes are available for biking riding. The beach is only 3 short blocks away for family to enjoy long walks on the beach as the kids build sand castles or swim in the water. Close restaurants within walking distance with great food and service. The Mesa Beach home is like my home away from home. So book your vacation here today!

nostalgic and perfect

My family of four and small dog found our home away from home. Close enough to the beach to check the surf, walk to the harbor and Brophy Bros. and kayaking adventure. At first the photos seemed it was dated, but the home is very clean, nostalgic, and super comfortable. My two boys enjoyed the pool everyday while my hubby and I had a glass of wine on the big patio. I was even able to stream a workout on my computer on that patio! Cozy for a family but large enough to entertain some friends I had grown up with while there in SB. Attentive owner and neighbors. We absolutely hope to visit this home again and would recommend

Spacious and quiet, excellent owner

We stayed 10 days starting Easter Sunday and found the house to be well appointed, large with great neighbours on a quiet street close to the beach. It helped to have bring a stroller for the toddler for longer walks. We had a great time and really enjoyed the homey feel of the house. Dana is a great owner, she responds quickly and is very friendly. There is lots of space to spread out even when the kids were sleeping. If we get back to SB, and I hope we do, we will book this spot again.

Great Santa Barbara location

Comfy, cozy, and clean as a whistle, this spacious, charming home also boasts a well-equipped kitchen with eating area. Another huge plus is its location in an attractive residential neighborhood within easy walking distance of Santa Barbara's stunning beach and the city's vibrant downtown.

Great vacation home

Great location! Close enough to beach and Shoreline park to walk there each day. Home has a very comfortable feel to it. Great indoor patio and pool area for entertaining guests. We plan on staying there again during our next trip to Santa Barbara.

We had a great time staying here during Christmas vacation. The house is clean, and well maintained. It is stocked with games, books, bikes, and cooking utensils. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach. Some of us were even able to jog on the beach every morning. The weather was perfect. It is also within walking distance to some great restaurants along the beach and also bike rental places. The surrounding areas are beautiful. We went to the Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara Mission, Solvang, and other locations. We were able to rent a surrey for a family bike ride on the beach, but like I mentioned before, there are also bikes one can use at the house. The pool is beautiful, wish we could have used it, but it was December, so we just dipped our toes in the beach and walked barefoot on the sand. The Lanai is great too. We hope to return some time during the summer so we can enjoy the backyard area more and get a chance to swim in the pool.

Better than advertised

Our family had a wonderful time here. We arrived as the cleaning crew was leaving and they were very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean with plenty of supplies for everything. The pool was a huge plus even though its not heated. The height of the day heat is a great time to swim but the younger ones in the family even swam at night. The neighborhood was very quiet yet close to everything you'd want to see or got to. Extremely convenient. We loved the shoreline cafe as its casual and you sit right on the beach to eat. Everything we had there was very tasty. Also loved going to the wharf - lots of restaurant choices.The Lanai in the back was perfect for family to stretch out- sometimes we adults were there and sometimes the children were there. It was great for the youngest visitor (a two year old) who we could let out on either the lanai or the front patio and everything was gated and locked. On our 3 rd night we had family from Thousand Oaks, La Mirada and Anaheim drive up for the day and had a cookout on the lanai where there was plenty of seating and a great tile table and fab, grill. One day we took an hour drive to Solvang -which shouldn't be missed- very quaint Danish town with great foods, chocolate, windmills, and craft's. They also have an adorable free farm to visit that raises miniature horses and close by to that a marvelous huge playground complex with climbers, slides, bridges,viking boat,play houses, puppet stage, etc that was too fun for the kids to miss..Back to S B the 3 beaches near by (walking distance) were clean and great for families and don't miss the fun of riding the electric trolley throough and about town for 50 cents. Looking for good ice cream go to McConnell's on Mission Dr. and there's a branch we found in Solvang too. Thank you to Dana and her family for keeping such a lovely treasure for others to enjoy through the seasons. Even though a 2 bedroom it was very spacious and no one felt cramped. Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. There are bikes and beach equipment. They thought of everything!! I have some walking restrictions yet this place and its location gave me no problems.Their is a slight incline to walk down to a flatter beach entrance but its paved and not harrowing by any means. Now we're back to 100+ heat you cant imagine how we miss sitting on that lovely front patio both day and night- the breezes were lovely along with the beautiful butterfly gardens.

It's all about location, but the beds are comfy, and everything you need to make yourself at home is here for you. We also have beach equipment and a new outdoor grill.

Huge private pool, although it is not heated...is perfect for warm summer days after walking back from the beach. In the cooler months, the pool deck is a nice place to relax and enjoy the sun with a BBQ grill and plenty of patio furniture! We love walking down the street for beach dining, breakfast, lunch and dinner!
