'Just in the Moment' Quaint Cottage Near Historic New Bern


The cottage is located in a small village just across the Neuse River from downtown New Bern. Just down the street is the new Bridgetown Harbor Marina. This cozy home was built in the 1950's and has been updated with all modern amenities. It has been decorated in a 'shabby chic' beach theme. You can enjoy a sun porch with a Nags Head hammock porch swing and rocking chairs. Perfect for relaxing, reading a good book or listening to music.

You are within walking distance of the river or you can use one of the bikes provided. There are 2 kayaks available.You will find a covered back deck with picnic table and gas grill to cook your evening meals. Inside, the home has 2 large bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a full and twin bed. Each bedroom offers TV connected to satellite. You will find 2 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen with stove, frig, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen also offers a breakfast bar where you can eat as well.

There is a beautiful dining room for more 'formal' dining with an adjoining living room. The living area also has a flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure. Linens are provided or you may bring your own. There is a washer and dryer available just off of the kitchen. You can also use the office area complete with desk and bookshelves. WiFi can be accessed.

Just across the bridge you can visit historic downtown New Bern where you will find shops, restaurants, marinas and parks. Be sure to check out all the Bears around the city. It is only a 30 min drive to Atlantic Beach and 1 hour from Cape Lookout. An information packet will be available upon arrival to tell you where the many local attractions can be found.
We have done a number of renovations including new LVP flooring in the dining and living rooms, new siding and roof, new shed roof and additional landscaping. The kitchen has new cabinets and granite countertops. Updates occur on a regular basis.

Wonderful place! The location was great and the neighborhood was quiet. There was a great park within easy walking distance right on the Neuse…a beautiful place for sunsets. We enjoyed coffee in the back porch in the morning. Everything we needed was available. We were come again!

Everything was as advertised! Owners were very responsive and thoughtful. Kitchen and laundry facilities provided all we needed. Beds comfortable. Such a cheerful, cozy house with a lovely beach vibe feel. Nice decorative touches and no issues with technology. Check in and out instructions were detailed and experienced no problems. Very dog friendly which is essential for us. Great location to everything needed (restaurants, grocery store, gas, etc.) and to the sites we were visiting, including downtown New Bern, Bath, and Emerald Isle Beach. If we return to this area in the future we would definitely book again!

Our two-month stay at Just in the Moment was truly something special. We came to town while waiting for the arrival of our first grandchild, and this beautiful little cottage quickly became our home away from home.The cottage was the perfect little spot—comfortable, cozy, peaceful, and in such a wonderful location. Mickey (owner) absolutely wonderful, so responsive and thoughtful, and made us feel welcome from the very beginning. The neighbors were also fantastic and added to the warm, friendly feeling of the community.We will always have such fond memories of our time at Just in the Moment. It gave us a comfortable place to call home during such an exciting and meaningful chapter in our lives. We are so grateful we found this special little cottage and would happily stay here again.

House was clean. The kitchen was fully stocked which was so nice. The fenced in back yard was great for our dog. There is a park a half block away that was nice to walk to. Conveniently located to things in New Bern. We would not hesitate to book this house again.

My Lil Family & I had the most wonderful stay!! Its location and proximity to everything was great!! We hope to be back in the fall and I already Cannot wait to return!! We'd be back sooner, if they weren't booked until October But I Definitely see why they're booked so far in advance!! My sister lives in New Bern. So, Next year I'll book several stays for the season in advance

The kitchen, thebathrooms were outstanding in cleanliness anditems stocked. The laundry had soap and softner as well as, items to clean with. When we needed help with a small issue, the host responded right away. Ihave never stayed at rented home as nice as this one.

We had a great time at the Just in the Moment cottage. This is a quaint little cottage in a very quiet neighborhood. The kitchen was well stocked, and we loved the fenced in back porch with the nice little seating areas. It is just minutes away from New Bern, and only an hour away from the ferry to Cape Lookout. We would love to come back for more than the weekend next time.

Perfect Location for Weekend Visit to New Bern

We recently spent 3 nights in this charming cottage and were delighted with it's location in a quiet neighborhood with close proximity to New Bern. The cottage met our needs completely, very neat and well stocked. We appreciate the owners sharing it with travellers via vrbo.

I relocated to New Bern from VA in 2004, looking for a new adventure. I am a nurse and have 2 grown daughters, a stepson and stepdaughter. I married a wonderful man from my hometown in VA after moving to NC and after much soul-searching, decided to move back to VA to be closer to my family. Together, my husband and I decided this home would make a great place to retire.
We have 2 dogs, love working in the yard, traveling, gardening and remodeling projects.

I purchased this home in 2004 and lived there for almost 5 years. I love the area and find it is close to everything, while still being in a quaint waterside neighborhood. It is quiet and peaceful and the neighbors are friendly. When I decided to move back to VA to be closer to family, I knew I wanted to keep the home, hopefully to retire there in the future. I really wanted to be able to have the home available to me and my family whenever we could visit, so vacation rental seemed like a great option. I love the beach and it is close enough to get there within 30 min.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The name of the cottage, 'Just In the Moment Coastal Cottage' has special meaning to me. I lost my only nephew Justin, (notice the first 2 words!) to melanoma. Justin lived life to the fullest and even though he was only 27, he experienced more in his short life than most do. Because he loved his career as a commercial pilot, you will find a very cool Aviator Bear in the home in his memory. I know Justin would tell you life is best lived in moments and to treasure each moment in time as if it may be your last. That is why I am not waiting to share my home with others. Waiting for 'the right time' never happens. That time is now. I hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.
