Our neighborhood, while it has its historical charm from the 1940s, is generally quiet and not prone to criminal activity. However, we understand your concerns about safety, especially when arriving home late. To address this, we have implemented several security measures, including outdoor cameras, an alarm system, and a door reinforcement device to deter any potential safety issues and provide peace of mind. Additionally, we are currently in the process of procuring a privacy fence to further enhance the property and create a more secure environment for our guests. Thank you for your feedback. We strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable space for all our guests. I’m sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. We sincerely apologize for the late check-in details. As mentioned, the automated system did not send it, but I corrected as soon as I noticed. Our neighborhood, though older, is filled with hardworking families and is conveniently located near a busy street and the interstate. It is not pedestrian friendly, but offers easy access to various areas of Charleston. As such, the neighborhood is not frequented by homeless individuals or panhandlers, as suggested in your review. Once we received your message about the smell, I promptly let you know that neither my family nor our guests smoke, and I personally have a strong sensitivity to smoke and other scents. We offered to inspect the property, but unfortunately, we were not granted access by you to do so. In the rare cases where lingering smells arise, they are typically from cooking and not smoking. When requested, we advised you to initiate the cancellation with VRBO. Instead you told the rep we agreed to a refund. In retaliation, you've added things to your review which are untrue; because it was denied. Our home is a 1,000-square-foot, 3-bedroom space, which most guests find to be quite roomy and comfortable. The AC units in each bedroom and the open area provide ample cooling, even in the Charleston summer heat. Again, thank you for your feedback.
