Enjoy true relaxation and serenity in this wonderful place that refreshes your soul. The open well stocked kitchen and cozy living room provide ocean views from every angle. Cook on the gas stove as you watch the seabirds dive for clams, even from the bedroom. A new wrap around deck and dock has been added this year. The loft has two twin beds and a queen which also has ocean views and skylights. The large yard with comfy hammock, lounge chairs, and gas grill provides ample room for yard games along with direct water access for swimming, kayaking, fishing, and exploring. There are quaint towns to explore within minutes of driving along with prestine beaches with good waves to ride. A pet friendly beach is within walking distance, along with great restaurants, ice cream parlor, Flos Clam Shack, and parks. There are antique stores, spas, high end consignment shops, mansions, festivals, polo matches, wineries, and the gorgeous cliff walk in Newport for scenic exercise. This is a great find for vacation!

Wonderful getaway spot

My stay was lovely; the description of the house, property and location was completely accurate. The waterfront spot was beautiful, serene and relaxing. It was close enough to drive into Newport or Tiverton or take other drives with ease, yet the location itself was nice and quiet.

This place is so adorable, and the view can’t be beat. Quiet neighborhood, right on the end so neighbors can’t really be seen from the house or deck - feels very private. Stayed for my birthday and laid out on the deck in the sun most of the time. The futon in the living room is a great spot to lay when the weather isn’t as nice, and has an incredible view out the back windows. Brought my 2 dogs as well, decent size yard on the side of the house. Will definitely be back!!

Great location with wonderful outdoor space

Booked this cottage 6 months ago for our daughters graduation due to close proximity to campus and outdoor deck space. It was very clean but there are so many tchotchkes everywhere and while the kitchen has lots of serving and cooking items; they are scattered throughout the cupboards. There was also a prominent cat smell and we finally were able to disperse it by leaving the windows and doors open. The main bedroom has no privacy since the other sleeping area is accessed through the bedroom. The cottage was very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed the deck. VRBO has the wrong key code listed when you receive confirmation and host mentioned he has been trying to change it with no success.

Great house

Loved the house. Perfect for the two of us. Only disappointment is that even though the house is on the water, access is not easy. There are rocks to climb, and our backs couldn't navigate that safely. Stairs or rocks arranged as stairs, would have made this stay a lot easier to cool off.

Cozy cottage with great view

We absolutely loved the deck and view. The waterfowl were so much fun to watch after sunrise. Saw 3 Blue Herons, 2 Snowy Egrets and huge number of cormorants a In just. One morning. It was very peaceful. We hated to leave. The cottage was very comfortable.

A Tranquil Retreat

Upon arriving at the property, I was immediately struck by the secluded beauty of the location, a charming cottage nestled right on the edge of the water. The view from the deck was inviting and mesmerizing, with the cove's calm waters gently splashing against pier. The cottage itself was a cozy haven designed for relaxation. It had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. One of the most memorable parts of my stay came on the second night. Not long after the sunset, I stepped out onto the deck and was greeted by the most stunning full moon rising over the horizon. Its golden-pink hue reflecting on the water was breathtaking. Carol and Doug’s cottage provided me with the perfect opportunity to retreat from the world and find the tranquility I was seeking. They were exceptional, thoughtful, and kind hosts. Thank you.

Great stay on the water

We had a great time and the house was perfect for our needs. We loved sitting on the deck in the morning and evening and looking for water life from the deck. Doug and Cathy are great hosts and answered all of our questions along the way. We will definitely look for this place if we make a return trip to Rhode Island.

Totally Relaxing!

What an adorable place! I had a hard time just leaving the back deck. The water got hot instantly. Doug and Karen we're never more than a phone call or a text away. Their response time was incredible. We hated leaving.

Short stay

Couple of nights for anniversary getaway with no kids- We were interested in quiet, calm , and peace- we had that….. Loved the deck and water views with the propane table side firepit- Should include use of boat as an option 🙂 Very much enjoyed our 2 nights!

Perfect Rhode Island Getaway

We absolutely LOVED our stay in Portsmouth- it was the perfect fall getaway! The house has a spectacular view of the water and has the perfect outdoor deck for relaxing. The location cannot be beat with quick drives to Newport and Bristol. Carol was quick to respond to any questions we had. We can't wait to go back!!

Relaxing cottage on the bay

We had a great stay. Carol and Doug were amazing hosts and super responsive to questions. The property is situated on a beautiful bay. We had great weather and enjoyed every bit of relaxing on the decks. Super close to everything, great restaurants and attractions. House was well appointed and really had everything. House was nautical themed that matched the surroundings. Overall, great experience with beautiful views and sunsets.

Our stay was phenomenal.

It was very nice. The owners were very friendly, the property was in a perfect cove and there was a lot to do if we wanted to explore. Many good restaurants nearby was a big plus too.

Overall beautiful property

The property was beautiful. Loved all the decorations. The view was amazing. I would highly recommend this place. A few things I wish had been different were the bedroom window didn’t have a screen. The grill tank was empty-we had to get it filled. safer stairs to the water. We had a great time!

Great relaxing Cottage

This waterfront Cottage is well kept and extremely private. We’ve been renting at Cape Cod for several decades but the ride became unbearable. This cottage fills the bill for us. Carol & Doug we’re always quick to respond to our questions. I highly recommend this cottage.

Paradise

Lovely place. Doug and Carol were so personable and answered any questions that we had. Speaking with them was like chatting with friends you have known forever. The cottage was just adorable. Fully stocked. We didnt want for anything. We spent most of our time sitting on the beautiful deck taking in the beautiful view. Highly recomend this place if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful time away. we will definitely be back. Thank you so much Doug and Carol for renting this little gem to us. Definitely a dwelling to sit back with your love ones and enjoy all that this home has to offer. Unbelievable sunrises, beautiful wrap around deck with outside shower. An amazing beautiful dock right off the deck. Perfect place to bring your dogs. Everything you need inside the home to have a very comfortable stay. The bay right at your door step with all its wildlife is incredible. Everything that R.I. with its beautiful natural resources and historic sites has to offer is only minutes away. Don't miss it.

Excellent Location but Disappointing Property

This property was not properly prepared for our arrival, OR the preparation falls far short of the standard required The property was cold and damp on arrival. It took 24 hours to heat it to the point that the samp smell went away A major concern is the gas stove. This is close to the middle of the living space with no proper ventilation above, meaning that burned gas can circulate freely around the roof area The person sleeping in the loft area found difficulty breathing with the fumes coming up from the stove area. This should be considered a health hazard, especially for elderly people or children The bathroom is in need of a major overhaul The property is too cluttered with personal items to feel comfortable. Some effort might be made to make more space for guests to relax comfortably The BBQ was not clean and could not be used The welcome mat outside the main door is very dirty and reflects poorly on the overall hygiene The wonderful location of this house makes up for the shortcomings enough to give 3 stars, but I cannot recommend it to others until these issues are resolved

Carol is a registered nurse and Doug is self employed. He fixes leaking roofs on commercial industrial buildings and installs snowguards. We live in Milford, MA and have four grown children ,one granddaughter and one on the way, and two sweet little dogs.

We bought this property due to it being right next door to our other one. #366526. We love the ocean and wildlife and always get a tranquil feeling when here. Both properties have large yards and fantastic views. Two families or groups of friends could rent side by side. You could have your privacy while also being together.

This place is so relaxing and peaceful, without the Cape Cod traffic! There are gorgeous beaches all around and Newport and Providence are full of things to do and see.
