River view living in Kennebunkport - New to VRBO...Tranquil and clean.

Hello, this is our 4th year renting to guests, but we are new to VRBO, so you will only see a few reviews. But, you will enjoy our place, it is very clean and nature abounds in almost every view.

We are a small family living quietly next door. (Well, except for our two adorable smallish, hypo-allergenic dogs next door, that may kiss you to death if you all meet in the driveway for morning walk time).

Your space (approximately 1100 square feet) is completely private and self-contained and tastefully furnished (thanks to Karen)...you could live here forever. The place is immaculate.

There is alot of peace and nature here. But close to lots.

The space
Your apartment looks directly at the Batson River, a small but pretty body of water surrounded by Kennebunkport Conservation Trust land. On any given day, you might see ducks, turtles, or a variety of birds, such as egrets, Canada geese, and the very occasional Bald Eagle.

We are a few miles from the stores and restaurants in Dock Square, Kennebunkport. Goose Rocks Beach is a mile away, Kennebunk Beach is 4 miles away or so, and Biddeford Pool and Cape Porpoise are close, as well.

For your ease and ours, during the summer season only, we limit availability to a 7-night minimum stay - with Saturday to Saturday check-in/check-out.

This is a fully equipped in-law apartment/condo attached to our home. Yet, completely separate. Clean as clean can be.

We cannot speak highly enough about our stay with Mark and Karen. Fantastic communication from the very start, and our stay was a dream. The home is beautiful and isolated. There are no other residences in view of the cottage. No kids, no strangers, just tranquility. The hosts make a conscious effort to stay out of the way while providing an amazing, relaxing atmosphere for guests. Expect to see ducks, loons and wild turkey roaming about. A special touch was Karen's homemade blueberry muffins and blueberry/rhubarb jam waiting for us on the kitchen island. Important context: My wife suffers from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), a condition in which a person experiences adverse symptoms triggered by low-level exposure to common chemicals found everyday, things like fragrances, cleaning products, pesticides, paints, perfume/cologne, etc. Exposure causes symptoms making travel very difficult for us to plan. Our rental car created problems when we arrived due to the cleaners they use. Our short stay at a hotel near Logan airport was a problem because of the fragrances and cleaners used in the room. This was our first attempt at a couple's vacation in seven years, and we did not get off to a good start. BUT, for anyone suffering a similar condition, please know that this location is a SAFE PLACE for you. We asked Mark about this when booking, he was extremely accomodating.Not enough characters left to give a proper review. 10/10, we hope to be back next year.
The patio is directly off of the living room and a private view of the river and woods.

Main entrance for guests right next to the guest parking space.
Spacious living room, there is a large walk-in closet to the right with plenty of hanging space and two luggage racks for suitcases.

We actually booked this VRBO location from September 8 through September 18, 2025. The location was in the Maine woods 2 mile from Kennebunkport center of town. We requested an early check in from the host Mark S. and he allowed it. Mark was a gracious host before, during, and after our stay. The communication and answering all my questions was over and beyond. The house was well stocked and extremely clean and comfortable. Check in was made easy by using the last four digits of my telephone number. We loved the location in the quiet, serene setting along a river. It truly enhanced our vacation from Phoenix, AZ. Highly recommend this VRBO.

What a beautiful and peaceful setting! The apartment was so comfortable, roomy and nicely appointed. It was also very clean. We had everything we needed and an awesome host who checked in on us and gave us excellent recommendations for things to do. Want to come back next year!

Peace Easy Feeling!

My husband and I had the best vacation at this property! It was impeccably clean and so quiet! The property itself was beautiful with a river running behind it and saw lots of wildlife. Turkeys, Heron, frogs, fish and deer. We sat out on patio every night to watch. The owners Mark and Karenwere the absolute best! So sweet and we totally became friends! I found myself seeking them out to talk to them! They were so thoughtful and the apartment was very well stocked! Close enough to town and beach without being in the thick of it. I would recommend a thousand times!!

Tranquility

Couldn’t have asked for a better place. Mark was super nice and Karen his wife make the place feel like home away from home. So peaceful and easy access to all things around town. Loved just sitting either outside or in watching the ducks every morning. If you like wildlife watching this is the place. Beautiful

Beautiful and serene setting

What a find! Comfortable, well appointed unit that was squeaky clean. Mark and Karen were kind and accommodating, and respected our privacy. May be the best vrbo we have stayed in. Highly recommend!

Lovely comfortable high value stay

This has to one of the best values we stayed in. The host was excellent. The accommodation was top notch; it was easily one of the best stays experienced over 20 years of travel.
