Nestled in the heart of the historic Shenandoah Valley, Deer Haven is a hidden gem that offers more than just unparalleled views of the valley on twenty secluded acres backing up to the National Forest. This short-term rental is your gateway to a whole world of adventure and relaxation!

Deer Haven's prime location is the perfect hub for those who want to explore the region's natural and historical wonders. Just 100 miles from Washington, DC, and a short drive to Shenandoah National Park, Bryce and Massanutten Ski resorts, and the spectacular Luray Caverns, you'll find yourself spoiled for choice. Experience a slice of history with a visit to the numerous Civil War battlefields or enjoy some leisurely wine-tasting at the nearby wineries and breweries. Hiking and water sports enthusiasts can hit the trails and the Shenandoah River, while antique shop and art gallery enthusiasts can discover hidden treasures in the charming towns along Route 11, including Edinburg and Woodstock.

Deer Haven's warm and welcoming interior is designed for your utmost comfort and convenience. The house features a fully-stocked, eat-in kitchen, three baths, and large decks with a grill, fire pit, and hot tub for relaxing. The living area boasts a fireplace, comfortable seating, and plenty of games to play and books to snuggle up with. Two bedrooms are on the second floor, including a principal bedroom with a wall of windows overlooking the Shenandoah Valley. The private third-bedroom suite is on the ground floor with its own bathroom, sitting room, bunk beds, and screened-in porch with great views.

**NOTE FOR WINTER GUESTS:
Deer Haven's recent paving of the most difficult part of the driveway has made it easier to reach the cabin. However, as the area does occasionally get snow, we require a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle during winter months. Rest assured, we'll work with you to ensure your safety and comfort during inclement weather. In the unlikely event that the road is impassable, we'll honor a partial or full refund depending on the circumstances.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we didnt want to come home. If we didnt have work and the kids didnt have school we would have probably tried to stay an extra few more days. The view was definitely beautiful. We definitely want to come back on warmer days to enjoy the outdoors.

Wonderful stay! Great views, inviting hot tub, wonderful fireplace. Great set up for our annual, family Christmas gathering. Plenty of room and very clean. Easy check in and check out. Close to a grocery and historical sites. Definitely would stay here again.

What can i say other than "wow"? It's everything we expect and more. We did a lot of home cooking and everything we needed was provided. It was so clean and cozy. The views were spectacular. If i could give extra stars i would. My friends and I are already trying to come back next year. We especially appreciated the informative move in and out brochure that helped us plan our stay. Thank you for everything John and Matt!

This was the second time we've had a girls' weekend at this property. I came her with four of my friends a few months ago, and we liked it so much that we booked another weekend at the beginning of October. The house is lovely, and unbelievably clean! We appreciated that so much. The kitchen is well-stocked. There are two separate living spaces as well as ample decking with beautiful views. The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the mountains. The hosts have provided many games and books. There is a fire-pit area, and a hot tub on the deck, which we used. Also, a few of us went hiking on local trails. Mostly we just hung around the house and enjoyed ourselves, though. We all highly recommend this property, and I'm sure we'll be back. Thank you so much to our hosts!

Lovely home with beautiful views off deck, well-stocked kitchen, comfy beds and pillows, large TV and wonderful hot tub we used twice. Serene and quiet, surrounded by nature. We enjoyed many hikes and Luray Caverns nearby…one of my family’s more relaxing getaways!

I see why every review says exceptional. This property is amazing. The view and the setup to take it in from the deck and the house is incredible. Loved the hot tub setup as it makes it super easy to get in and out. The place was super clean and had everything you need in the kitchen. Definitely a place we would love to go back to!

Gorgeous peaceful retreat! Booked a last minute stay for my family of four, and could not have been more pleased. Everything was clean, comfortable, and the setting was beautiful. From morning coffee on the deck to stargazing it was as perfect. John’s welcome packet has great tips for nearby restaurants and sites that we enjoyed, and lots of helpful info. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Deer Haven. We enjoyed rocking on the front porch, and melting our worries away in the hot tub. My sisters and I talked well into the night, then slept like rocks in the well appointed bedrooms. It is a beautiful place inside with the beauty of nature surrounding us outside.

Great place!

My first impression was how clean the place was. We were a total of 5 people and felt there was plenty of room for all of us to feel comfortable. In the room with the open windows, the surmise was beautiful but a sleep mask definitely helps if you don’t want to wake up when the sun comes up!
