Sobre esta propriedade
Beautifully-restored mountain farmhouse with 80 acres of private trail access
I painstakingly and fully restored this late 1870's farmhouse on one of the most beautiful, idyllic, and quiet country lanes you'll ever find.
Outside, relax on the covered front porch or large open deck, or sit by the firepit. Directly behind the house, you have access to a vast network of well-maintained private trails crisscrossing over 80 acres of my family's land. Just down the bridge is the iconic Beaverkill Covered Bridge, under which is one of the best swimming holes in the Catskills.
Inside, think new design meets farmhouse rustic, with big windows and lots of light. The decor style is a mix of color, art, and reclaimed lumber from the original house. It has a well-stocked, chef's kitchen with a big island countertop and lots of seating.
The bedrooms are cozy, the bed's are comfortable, and all bedrooms have curtains or blinds.
All three of the full bathrooms are spacious.
There are a bunch of games to play, I have equipment for outdoor activities year round (hiking poles are complimentary; snowshoes, canoe, kayak, fishing poles, slack line, and archery equipment can all be rented), and you won't find a better book collection in any rental property, anywhere.
The Wi-Fi is strong, and there's an outdoor outlet for an electric car charger.
If you're looking for a beautiful and comfortable house in and from which to explore one of prettiest corners of the Catskills, or simply to unwind on quiet, friendly, picteresque country lane, this is it. And I'd love to host you.

We enjoyed our stay at Brians space for a reunion of old friends. We did not get to hike because of the rain but the trails were beautiful. We still sat outside for a majority of the time because a perfect covered porch. We got use out of our bird ID app as it is so quiet their songs are loud and clear! We saw some curious deer roaming the streets. The house is well stocked and has very sophisticated decor. We will be returning for the next reunion!

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Brian
I'm Brian, and I've been hosting guests in my homes for over 5 years now. I enjoy it thoroughly. Having travelled all over the world, I feel fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I've experienced -- and equally so to get to share this home with others.
Whatever the season, I especially enjoy helping guests have the same kind of experiences that make the Beaverkill Valley so special to me. I'm happy to share my thoughts about where to go, what to do, or when to do it.
While it's this house is new to VRBO, it's not new to the short term rentals, and I have a long record of making guests experiences easy and pleasant.
I rebuilt the house myself, over almost six years, so there's a lot of me invested in this place. It's a home I built for myself, for the long haul. And I want you to feel at home while you're there.
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
Ragin Road in the upper Beaverkill Valley is, hands down, one of the prettiest little corners of the Catskills. And you'd be hard pressed to find a more pleasant or quiet little country lane.
O que faz essa propriedade ser única?
This is a house I built to be my home, not "just a rental". You'll see and feel that from the moment you set foot in the front door -- in the craftsmanship, the decor, the furnishings, the bedding, the kitchen, the books, the plants, the art... there are no cut corners :)
The private trails on my neighboring parents' property are world class -- they stretch for about 3.5 miles in total, over 80 acres, and are beautifully maintained. Take a picnic and relax at one of the half dozen picnic benches / rest spots along the way, watch for wildlife (Lots of deer, turkey, song and other small birds, owls, eagles, hawks, foxes, etc. If you're lucky, you might even spot a black bear or a bobcat.), or get a workout by going for the top of the mountain!
The road itself could hardly be more inviting for leisurely strolls -- it's quiet, lightly trafficked, and idyllic (with other beautiful homes, stone walls, and the odd old mountain farm barn).
I can't guarantee it, but depending on the season, there's always a chance you'll have the opportunity to join my family in any of our seasonal activities -- picking blueberries in the garden in July, checking the beehives from late Spring to early Fall, sledding on our tubing track (lit-up for night sledding as well), making maple syrup in the late Winter / early Spring. If you have an interest in any of these things, let me know.
