Coastal Zen Cottage - Walk To Beach!

Fully equipped private studio apartment in Half Moon Bay. Walking distance to beaches (0.4 miles to Surfers Beach), harbor, restaurants, shops, and the coastal trail. Right across the street from Quarry Park and miles of hiking trails. Private zen patio and bamboo garden. Private access with dedicated parking. Beach Cruisers on hand for local exploration! Enjoy the lawn and backyard waterfalls (this area is a shared space with us).

Thought and care went into preparing this space for your visit. The cottage is well equipped and opens into a private patio with seating area. Two private entrances - one through a zen garden to parking area. The other out to amazing backyard common area. The shared backyard lawn area is straight out of Sunset magazine.

You will have a private studio apartment with two private entrances and a private patio and zen garden.

Large backyard lawn area is common/shared space. Feel free to use this area up until 8:00 pm daily

We love hosting guests and want to help you have a great time. However, we both work full time jobs and sometimes, we are not available for immediate assistance. For the quickest response, please message us via the Airbnb app. Since we both manage that inbox we will respond as quickly as possible. A text or phone call to our personal phones is highly discouraged (unknown callers are frequently screened via voicemail) and will result in a slower response time.

Best of all worlds. Hundreds of acres or trails and open space right across the street. Just a short walk to beach and plenty of space between neighbors. Sunny southern exposure!

Easy dedicated parking. Walkable to plenty of areas (beaches: 0.4 miles from house, trails, restaurants, etc.) 5 minute drive to downtown Half Moon Bay. Or, if you prefer grab the beach cruisers you can easily access just about any part of the coastside via the coastal trail.

**Disclosure**: My family lives in this house and we love it! As such, we occasionally have home renovation projects going on to keep our home looking its best. We do everything in our control to not have these projects impact our guests or their space. If you are staying with us when we are beautifying our home and it is impacting your enjoyment, please let us know right away. We will do what we can to address the issue as quickly as possible.

FAQ: Do you have cable or live sports access?

Answer: The TV is equipped with Roku. You can access any of the streaming platforms, but you will need to login with your own account credentials. If you want to watch a sporting event we suggest Old Princeton Landing, Ketch Joanne, Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Jersey Joes, or Cameron’s Pub.

FAQ: Is the backyard lawn area private or shared?

Answer:
The Airbnb unit is a completely private apartment. There is only one Airbnb rental on the property, so there aren’t other guests that you would need to worry about.

However, the backyard lawn area is shared with us (my family) in the main house and available to guests from 10 am until 8 pm each evening.

FAQ: Is the backyard lawn area attached to the Airbnb?

Answer: No, the backyard lawn area is a shared space and is located adjacent to the AirBnB, separated by a gate. You are more than welcome to use this space, in fact, we encourage it!

FAQ: How far is your house from the beach?

Answer: We are 0.4 miles to Surfer's Beach. It is an easy walk or bike ride away.

FAQ: Is there a kitchen in the unit?

Answer: Yes, there is a full kitchen including sink, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker (coffee not included), etc. Please note, there is no dishwasher.

FAQ: I have a small, well behaved dog. Will you make an exception?

Answer: I'm sorry but we do not allow pet guests. We have two dogs on the property and having guests bring their pets creates a level of complexity and liability that we cannot manage. We do not make exceptions for the reasons noted above.

Affordable and luxurious
Stayed for a weekend. There were bikes for us to use to get to the little town and shops, seconds from the beach.

Coastal Zen Cottage ... what a find!!! Great location, beautiful property! Private outdoor space was nice. The inside, WoW! Full kitchen with enough cookware to prepare most things easily if you want to eat in. Table for meals and/or games. Bed is comfortable and bathroom is spacious with a large shower and vanity with storage. Comfy couch and fire t.v. for relaxing after a day out. Bonus right outside the door is Quarry Park. Beautiful trails with plenty of views!!! Finally, the hosts are great and very responsive!

We sure enjoyed our stay. The studio was well decorated, and the patio area in front was delightful. There was a park near by and some wonderful places to walk. The hosts were very helpful, with check-in and making sure that any questions we had were answered.

I'm a proud California native and my husband has spent most of his life on the stunning Coastside. We're raising our family in El Granada and it's been an incredible experience. We love to surf, mountain bike, and travel together, but there's something truly special about being involved in this tight-knit community.

My husband and I chose to live in El Granada for many reasons. For starters, the natural beauty of the area is simply breathtaking. The stunning coastline, rolling hills, and vibrant wildlife make it a truly unique and special place to call home. Additionally, the community here is incredibly welcoming and supportive. We've made lifelong friends and love participating in local events and activities. Finally, the access to outdoor activities like surfing, mountain biking, and hiking was a massive factor in our decision. We feel fortunate to live in such a wonderful place.

Our property is truly one-of-a-kind because of its unique location and community-driven features. Firstly, it's walking distance to the beach, which means that residents can enjoy the sun, sand, and surf whenever they want. Additionally, it's also within walking distance to the Breakwater BBQ, a popular local restaurant that serves up delicious food and drinks.

But what really sets our property apart is the fact that we built a community pump track as a project during the pandemic. This means that locals can enjoy a fun and challenging bike track right in our own backyard. The project brought our community together during a difficult time and has created a unique feature that sets our property apart from others in the area.
