Great escape with beautiful view

Had a wonderful time at Tropical Hideaway and absolutely loved the unrivaled views! We stayed in the penthouse sweet and enjoyed the massive terrace all to ourselves to soak in the sun and enjoy the spectacular sunsets! Martin and Julie are the true hidden treasures of this property. They run an amazing property but the story of their lives and commitment to make the property come to life is worth the trip in itself. Highly recommend the trip!

Superb property with stunning views

This was our return visit to this property as we were so impressed on our first visit and wanted to stay longer. The suite is all as described and more. Martin and Julie are brilliant hosts providing an exceptional service. Their shop on site had been expanded since our previous visit a year before and offers a wide range of groceries, beer and wine. We have never felt the need to hire a car as the taxi service is well priced and always reliable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.

Stunning

To be honest, it is hard enough to book for next year without adding to the ever growing five-star reviews, but we benefited from all those reviews when we were researching accommodations in Bequia, and there are several very good reasons why this special place has never had anything less than a five-star review. We have stayed in many amazing places on many islands that we have rated as 5 star, but none of them come close to Tropical Hideaway in Bequia. We stayed in the Penthouse, which was simply AMAZING, although after looking at all accommodations, I must say they are all superb, all unique, depending on your preferences. Each accommodation has good views, but for maximum privacy as well as very spectacular views choose either Hibiscus cottage or the Penthouse. Having said that, no matter which accommodation you choose, everyone enjoys those same panoramic views from the infinity pool, gazebo, and outside terrace just above pool level at any time of day or evening. I have posted a longer (much longer) review on TripAdvisor.

Unforgettable experience

The Tropical Hideaway is an amazing place to stay, the infinity pool has some of the most amazing views I have ever seen. We were in Bequia for our wedding and staying at the Tropical Hideaway was one of the best decisions we made. Thank You Tropical Hideaway for an amazing stay!

Relax in style and luxury.

The penthouse suite was just fantastic. Superbly equipped with an enormous private terrace with unsurpassed views over the bay. The owners and staff could not be more helpful or charming. Everything is about making guests feel relaxed and comfortable. If you have a sense of adventure and want a luxury break you will be hard pushed to find anywhere better.

"Reward Yourself!"

Always a pleasure returning to Tropical Hideaway in beautiful Bequia. If Bequia is your destination look no further Tropical Hideaway is the place to stay. You will be welcomed by Julie and Martin two of the warmest host you will ever meet. The view here is spectacular, the infinity pool, gazebo, all of the rooms are very well appointed and the grounds are beautifully kept. They really created a masterpiece and the stay here is truly luxurious! There is a small shop on site that is well equipped with beverages and frozen items ( prepared meals that are delicious) if you choose to dine in. We always leave here with the fondest of memories, seeing our friends again and meeting new friends. Bequia is a Gem of an island it has not been commercialized like other islands and has so much to offer. There is fabulous places to dine, nice beaches, great people and a very laid back atmosphere making it even that more special. Tropical Hideaway is always on our mind. We love it!

it was so good, we were blown away

The location is fantastic, perched on the hill with a magnificent 180° view of Port Elizabeth, Princess Margaret Bay and the Lower Bay. A never tiring vista! Sunsets from the infinity pool make you feel like a million dollars! Tropical Hideaway is a corner of paradise where you are made feel special and worthy of being there! The hosts, Julie and Martin, are very most amicable and absolutely delightful. We stayed in the penthouse and thought we were in Heaven! Well appointed with all the amenities necessary (eco friendly quality products). We always like to go to different countries and places but this is one of the rare places we said we would return!

Beautiful, Peaceful, One of kind, Awesome!

Breathtaking comes to mind when you enter Tropical Hideaway Bequia. My Husband and I stayed in the Penthouse Suite and words can not express the amazing views and beauty of this suite. The living room and kitchen are outside looking over the inifinity pool and waking up and looking out at the ocean is so tranquil and surreal. I never knew it could be so beautiful. It's spacious and inviting and comfortable. Julie and Martin thought of everything in the design. You can feel the love and thought that went into building this remarkable place. We recommend highly staying at Tropical Hideaway Bequia Definitely try out the Penthouse Suite. I know your won't be disappointed. My Husband and I will definitely be back!

Gorgeous place to stay

Tropical Hideaway is a collection of beautiful villas grouped together in a fabulous location, with the infinity pool as a spectacular centrepiece. We stayed in all but one of the villas during our six-week stay, and each of them is charming in its own way -- from the secluded and romantic HIbiscus Cottage to the splendid penthouse with its huge terrace and incredible panoramic views. The charm of Bequia is its simplicity and natural beauty. Tropical Hideaway complements these perfectly. You won't be disappointed.

Simply spectacular - in every way!

We stayed in the Penthouse for a wonderful week. I won't repeat all the rave-reviews and compliments that other reviewers have paid to this spectacular place and to Martin & Julie who built, own and host it. Please just read them - everything they say about the Penthouse and the place in general - they're all true. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

Tropical Paradise

From the moment we saw the pictures online, we knew we had to find a way to the Tropical Hideaway. It was an easy 10 minute flight from St. Lucia and before we knew it we were in paradise. We rented the penthouse suite for a week and it was absolutely spectacular. You first enter into a large entry way with a seating area and a gym. A spiral staircase brings you to a landing with an additional seating area and a library. The room was absolutely gorgeous. The bedroom had an over sized comfy California king bed. There is an indoor outdoor kind of living in the penthouse. the views are to die for. We sat for hours just overlooking the harbor, neighboring beaches and the infinity pool. By far the best pool on the island is the infinity pool at the Tropical Hideaway. It was very relaxing and the views are to die for. The tropical hideaway is a spectacular place. Every detail of the property was well thought out. The owners Julie and Martin were excellent and courteous hosts. They really made us feel like home along with their amazing 3 Bengal cats. They helped us book with two excursions and gave us alot of tips on where to go on the island. We sailed to neighboring islands and visited the Tobago Cays. The cays are out of this world! We never thought of going to the Grenadines, because we thought it would be difficult to get there. It truly was very simple if you use LIAT or SVG airways from a larger connecting island. Bequai and the Grenadines are truly a hidden gem that you must see. We will certainly do it all over again and planning our next trip.

Our home away from home

It is our fourth time to Tropical Hideaway, this is home away from home. Julie & Martin are extremely attentive to their guests and every year they improve their villa, rooms and services (small store at the villa with just about everything you can need) to facilitate your stay. Georgeous villa, rooms, view, pool... 20 min. Steep Walk to best beaches; lower bay, princess Margaret and to town Boardwalk. Taxi's are reasonable prices if you don't feel to walk. Favorite restaurants for lunch The reef and Jack Bar. Dinner; Fernando, L'Auberge, Sugar Reef, Figue tree, Mac's. All in all a beautiful get away and would recommend it to anyone who needs a little relaxation, you will definitely see us again!

Best view on Bequia and expansive accommodations!

Tropical Hideaway is a unique gem high in the hills of Bequia overlooking Admiralty Bay and beyond. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite which is large enough to be considered a house in itself. It is very private, extremely well equipped and did I mention the views? While Bequia is a special island and well worth exploring, one could be perfectly happy never leaving Tropical Hideaway's premises. And more important than the premises are the proprietors, Martin and Julie. Their personal touch and effort to provide everything a guest could want are really what sets Tropical Hideaway apart. Don't hesitate to book.

Breathtaking Property

We rented out the entire property for a week in July to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We brought along our five children and both sets of grandparents. From the moment we booked this trip, Martin and Julie were so helpful answering the many questions we had. My husband and I stayed in the Penthouse Suite. The huge bed was so comfortable and the balcony that overlooks the pool and ocean is simply breathtaking. We enjoyed relaxing at night on the balcony with the entire family, swinging in the hammocks with the cool breeze. We did not have any problems with bugs or mosquitos while staying at Tropical Hideaway, although we did experience them while eating at some of the outdoor restaurants right on the beach. The Penthouse Suite has a full-sized refrigerator along with a stove and plenty of room for cooking. I can't say enough about how accommodating Martin and Julie were. Martin arranged for us to hire a minister to preside over our vow renewal ceremony and he even took photos for us! Julie ordered flowers for me from St. Vincent and they were perfect! They helped us arrange taxi rides and even provided two cell phones for our use while staying at Tropical Hideaway. I would highly recommend hiring Elfic the "Singing Chef" to cater a meal. It was well worth the price and his singing was amazing. It was the most memorable part of our trip. The taxi drivers were readily available and would generally arrive withing 10 minutes of our phoning. Please visit Faye if you venture out to Princess Margaret Beach. She's a very fun local who sells jewelry on the beach. We really enjoyed Jack's bar at Princess Margaret and meeting the families that sailed in and ate at the bar. Take the extra time to take the pathway from Princess Margaret around to the other beaches. You will pass the ice cream shop, Mac's Pizza, and several other good places to eat. You will also find two dive shop side by side, and we highly recommend Dive adventures. When we lost some gear they sold us replacements at a reasonable price and were very helpful. Another highlight of our trip was the boat we chartered, Petti Cash, with Jason. His father owns the ferry service, and he has the largest speed boat on the island. He took our family on a day excursion to Tabago Keys, Mayreau and dropped my husband and son off at Canouan to golf. I can't say enough about what a wonderful time we had staying at Tropical Hideaway and we can't wait to return!

Tropical Hideaway made for an incredible Honeymoon

My wife and I stayed in the Penthouse Suite for our honeymoon and I cannot imagine anywhere being more romantic and accommodating. The suite itself was stunning and the incredible gardens along with the pool area would make for a five star vacation in itself. The attention to detail was apparent with high-end finishes and modern amenities while maintaining the style of an island getaway. Apart from the villas, Martin and Julie were very helpful in providing information about travel options, restaurants and various activities for our stay. They stock a large selection of Meats, breads, beer, wine, etc... that can be purchased at equal or less than the local prices we found. Finally, Not only would we highly recommend the Tropical Hideaway to friends but we are planning a return for our Anniversary.

Fantastic Experience

My wife and I spent ten days in the penthouse of this magnificent property. Beautiful views and sunsets with unbelievable ambiance. The outdoor living area of the penthouse is beautiful and every imaginable convenience is at your fingertips. The master bedroom can be air conditioned if you would like or you can sleep with the curtains open to the ocean air. The bed is the biggest king bed I have ever seen and it is very comfortable. There is a fully functional kitchen if you want to prepare any meals which is what we did several times. Martin and Julie were the consummate hosts attending to our every question and need. They even picked us up at the airport and and brought us back for our return flight. The infinity pool and outdoor area are spectacular including a sunken bar in the middle of the pool! We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to experience the Caribbean like it was 30 years ago while staying in five star accommodations. We truly arrived as guests and left as good friends! As a side note, if you are interested in a sailing trip, either one day or overnight, please look up a very colorful gentleman named African. We had a great time with him also.

1st Ever in Bequia, Hard to Beat !

Tropical Hideaway was a fantastic retreat on a beautiful, peaceful island. We loved the accomodations, the owners went way above and beyond to make our stay exactly as we wanted it. The penthouse was spacious, peaceful and a great gathering spot for our group; while everyone had their alone time when they wanted. Couldn't have asked for a better villa, we have rented many, many villas all over the Caribbean, and this was easily the best of all of them. Cheers .... and you won't be disappointed if you get the opportunity to visit Bequia and stay at this fabulous villa !!

Blown away!

It would be hard to conceive of a more beautiful place to stay. The property was stunning and so cleverly designed. The owners, Martin and Julie and their staff could not have been more helpful. The infinity pool was stunning. We managed the steep twenty minute walk down to town with no problem but happily caught the plentiful and cheap local taxis back. Even shorter walk to the beautiful St Margrets beach and Jacks Bar. We loved the character of Port Elizabeth with its plentiful bars and restaurants. Peace and quiet if you want it or a little more life if you feel like it. we had a fabulous holiday!

Cried when I had to leave

My Husband and I received a warm welcome from all the family. (Staff are included in this family). The whole package is very well thought out, made us feel relaxed and at ease from the moment we stepped off the plane. Beautiful, smiley Julie, met us with a guide to the island on the way to our home for 2 weeks (penthouse and pool house). I could not believe such a beautiful place could exist, I also love the story that comes with the property. The rooms are exceptionally clean. Yes I did look everywhere, even under the bed! They are very well equipped, with beach towels, toiletries etc I did not need half off what I had packed. Everything was in excellent working order, IE hairdryer, air-con etc The choice of films Martin has got is amazing. Swimming is stunning,looking out onto the bay and surrounded with the most beautiful garden, kept very clean with a swim up bar. The whole holiday was just what I was hoping for. I met the most amazing people, went to some beautiful beaches ate wonderful food and had a great time. Everyone should go to tropical hideaway at least once in their lives. My only regret is that I did not swing in the hammock on our terrace. That is why I have to go back. Martin and Julie I love you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.read less
