Tucked away in the peaceful woods just minutes from Snyder’s Run Boat Launch, Raystown Retreat is where the lake, the forest, and family time come together. This is not a crowded resort or a noisy neighborhood. This is a true cabin escape where the only soundtrack is birds, wind through the trees, and the crackle of a fire.

Surrounded by nature, the cabin offers a quiet, secluded atmosphere while keeping you incredibly close to everything Raystown Lake has to offer. Whether you are here to boat, fish, mountain bike, or simply unplug, this location gives you the perfect balance of privacy and access.

Inside, the cabin is warm, spacious, and designed for groups to gather. With three bedrooms and space to sleep up to ten guests, it is ideal for families, multiple couples, or adventure crews. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to cook big meals together, and the open living areas are perfect for game nights, movie nights, and long conversations after full days outside.

Step out onto the large deck to enjoy your morning coffee with the trees as your view. In the evening, gather around the outdoor firepit for stories, laughter, and stargazing under Raystown’s dark skies. With boat parking right at the cabin, your lake days are simple and stress-free.

For outdoor lovers, you are also just minutes from the Allegrippis Trail System, one of the most famous mountain biking trail networks in the country.

Great vacation rental

We had a really nice stay. Very cozy and comfy environment. It was so nice sitting on the swing and enjoying the huge fire pit . The deer walking by us as we enjoyed the peaceful outdoors was an added bonus.

Fire pit and location was great

We still had a good time. Wonderful setting and beautiful outdoor area. But, some of the towels were smelly as were some of the comforters. On a hot day the portable a/c is super loud. The mattress in the second bedroom was uncomfortable. It took a long time to sort out the WiFi.

A Lackluster Stay

A group of friends and I stayed at Aunt Susie's - Snyders Run location, and it was an OK stay. Overall, the house's yard/exterior were good. A nice firepit area with decent space for us to hangout. But the interior of the house was lacking. Firstly, the VRBO description said the house came with (2) Queen-size beds downstairs, which was a lie (they were only double beds). Secondly, these two same rooms had a faint mildew smell which was unpleasant. Lastly, the propane grill advertised was filthy and infested with maggots, so we couldn't use it to make dinner like we planned. I don't recommend staying at this property unless there are no other choices. In past years, we stayed at another rental (different management/owners altogether), and it was unfortunately booked for the week we had planned. So we went out on a limb with the Snyder's Run rental, and were left disappointed. Not fully clean, false bedroom advertising, and more expensive than our other rental. It left a bad taste in our mouths. We won't book this location or any other Aunt Susie locations in the future.
