Terrace Point on Lake Superior

Do you value privacy, Lake Superior views from every room, and light? So do we. Terrace Point 11A is an upper end unit that is situated in a way that offers outstanding privacy without compromising the view. It is just fifty-feet from Lake Superior with over twenty-six feet of windows. Even on the darkest of days this unit is filled with light. If you value cozy - we have you covered. Our one-bedroom unit offers outstanding Lake Superior views from the king-size bed. Our bathroom offers a walk-in shower and Jacuzzi type soaker tub. In-floor radiant heat warms you while watching a November storm unfold. Besides the incredible views in the living room there is also a gas fireplace framed with North Shore Ledge-rock. It is hard to leave the two Fjord swivel leather recliners which allow you to shift between the 180-degree Lake Superior views, the fireplace, and the Smart TV (that disappears into the wall when not in use). We encourage you to take advantage of our fully stocked kitchen and enjoy your meals on our dining table with lake views or if the weather is nice take advantage of the private deck. Sitting outside and watching the waves endlessly splash against the ledge rock, catching sunrises and sunsets, star gazing and if you are lucky we might even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights (a favorite of many visitors). Terrace Point is the perfect place for artists, bird watchers, star gazers, nature lovers, and adventure seekers. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a special place to escape the city, explore the Gunflint Trail, hike the Superior Hiking Trail, learn a new skill at the North House Folk School, downhill or cross country ski, experience the local music scene or shop "The Coolest Small Town in America" (Grand Marais).... this is truly the perfect place! We would love to share this special place with you.
Important - Please note:
-Terrace Point is an entire “Smoke-Free” property - there is no smoking allowed in the condo OR on the entire grounds.
- Our parking area does not have the space to accommodate trailers or campers.
- Please do not walk on the lakeside in front of other units. Use the back parking area if you’d like to access the shoreline.

Out stay at Terrace Point was beyond what we could have imagined. The hosts were in contact with us making sure we had everything we needed. They were amazing! The space was amazing! Looking over beautiful Lake Superior the view is breathtaking. The sound of the waves, the sunrise and the Northern Lights made this vacation magical. We are grateful for Clay and Jana for sharing their beautiful space with us.

This condo was the perfect retreat for my husband and I. The view of the lake cannot be beat and the location was perfect. It's very peaceful and the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design and decor are lovely. Our hosts were available right away for any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

We used the property as a hub to enjoy the walking trails in all the state parks in the area. Beautiful property right on Superior. It was perfect for my us! Very clean with a spectacular view off the deck. Would definitely stay there again!!

This was our second time at Terrace Point and it's such a beautiful location! The condo is cozy, comfortable and has an amazing view of the lake. It's close to town, but quiet and peaceful. Jana and Clay are great communicators and our stay was wonderful!

Quiet convenient location. Comfortable bed and chairs. It got very hot during the day due to east, west exposure and needs air conditioning esp with the Canadian wildfire air quality and climate change. Sits right on Lake Superior.

Immaculate Slice of Paradise!!

From the moment we entered and could see directly to the saltless sea through our final morning, we thoroughly enjoyed this property! It is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The location is so convenient to hiking trails, shops, restaurants, the artsy downtown and the Gunflint Trail. The hosts were so very kind and helpful. They communicated with us and made excellent suggestions. Wish we had stayed longer; hope we can visit again someday!

Wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I were looking to book a last second get away for our 2 year anniversary. We stumbled across this beautiful condo and were blown away by the photos alone! The hosts were quick to respond and very gracious!The drive to the property was gorgeous and easy to find. The hosts made check-in simple and kept us updated and informed.Our expectations were exceeded the minute we walked inside. We felt right at home with the cozy and clean atmosphere. Everything we ever needed was accommodated for and the lake view was breath-taking! We looked forward to drinking our morning coffee out on the deck overlooking Lake Superior and Grand Marais. I especially loved the fully stocked kitchen for when we made soup during the chilly weather.The wonderful hosts consistently checked up on us via texts to make sure everything was going well with our stay. They went above and beyond for us and were pleasant and understanding throughout our whole visit!10/10! Lovely people and condo! We will definitely be staying here again for future North Shore vacations! Thank you for everything :)

Superior in Every Way

Over the years my husband and I stayed at dozens of properties on the North Shore. This is my first time returning to Terrace Point (after 15 years) and everything about it exceeded my expectations. The panoramic view of the lake is second to none and I spent hours in the reclining chairs gazing at the water and the moon. The property was immaculately clean and the check in/check out process was simple. The owners even texted me on the first morning to see if I had any questions. Great communication!

Fall road trip

The unit was great - the design, the view, the location. We hit perfect timing for the leaves. The hike to Oberg Lake near Lutsen was stunning! We lucked out on the weather, too, great our entire stay.

Great location and cozy stay

The location overlooking Superior is amazing and it's proximity to downtown Grand Marais is great. The house was cozy and clean, and we loved the fireplace. Hosts were super responsive to questions. We'll definitely be back!

A fabulous Grand Marais retreat

This property was absolutely perfect! Perched above Lake Superior with views of the lake and the starry night sky. Comfortable, cozy, welcoming! The hosts were very responsive and gracious.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS PROPERTY?

Why this property? Because it's right on the shore of the largest freshwater lake in the entire world and sits just 4 miles from the charming town of Grand Marais. We love the “Big Lake” and all of its' mysterious moods! The North Shore provides us with a four season playground to do all the things we love to do! There are endless bike, hiking and ski trails with a waterfall around just about every corner. Every morning we wake up to all the colors of a majestic sunrise over the lake without even having to leave our cozy bed. And... besides all of the state parks, forests and wildlife... there's the wonderful town of Grand Marais which was voted “The Coolest Small Town in America" by the public and named by the New York Times. Grand Marais is a friendly, quaint (yet modern) fishing village that hosts great restaurants, a brew pub, endless venues for local music, a coop grocery store, the North House Folk School (where you can learn just about any skill or craft imaginable or gather as a community to dance, bake bread or sing around a campfire), and a diverse art scene. Best of all - Grand Marias sits right on the shore of Lake Superior where there’s a beautiful public beach for lake gazing or rock skipping along with famous “Artist’s Point” and the lighthouse to enjoy and walk out to. A little town with a lot to do!

WHY IS THIS PROPERTY UNIQUE?

We chose our condo on the shore of Lake Superior first and foremost because of the stunning, panoramic views of Lake Superior! With over 26' of floor to ceiling windows, you have a view of the big lake from the living room, dining area, kitchen and bedroom. The private patio is perfect for coffee in the morning, a good book and lunch in the afternoon, and your beverage of choice at sun set. Terrace Point is a small and quiet community. The design of our condo was influenced by the works of Frank Lloyd Wright who was famous for bringing the outdoors inside and our condo does just that. Designed in a 5 sided pentagon, the Lake Superior ledge rock fireplace is the center point of the living room and dining area. The kitchen boasts of granite counter tops and beautiful cherrywood cabinets. The bedroom has a comfortable king-sized bed where you can take in the sun rise upon waking in the morning or view the moon shimmering on the lake at night right outside your window . The large bathroom has a jacuzzi tub to relax in and a slate tiled shower to rinse off. The heated floors (carpet and stone) keep you cozy no matter what the season. Terrace Point 11A is the perfect place to set down your bags and enjoy Lake Superior out your front door and all of Cook County, the Boundary Waters and the Gunflint Trail right outside your back door.
