The host was welcoming but when we pulled the chain for the ceiling fan, it broke off inside the fan. The floor fan in the unit was absolutely filthy. I contacted Carmen who advised that she should have replaced that fan at the same time as the kitchen one but that she had someone who could look at it. She also offered to have her cleaning person check for another floor fan. We never heard from her again and no one came to look at anything. The unit was missing baseboards, the pleated wall divider was not attached to the wall so couldn't be closed. The light in the corner of the living/kitchen area was missing. The kitchen was not clean - dirty dishes in cupboards, appliances not cleaned inside and out, and food marks on the light fixture right above the sink in plain eye-view. The lack of professional cleaning is unacceptable given that we pay the cleaning fee and deserved a clean and disinfected unit. Its too late to clean once we check in. Last year we also stayed in this bldg. and that was the filthiest condo I have ever stayed in in my life. It appears absentee owners are trusting others that are not doing the work. We pay a premium to stay on the ocean as well as addl cleaning fee and these units should be clean, well maintained and everything working properly. Our first year here was with a premier owner and everything was perfect, so I guess anything less than a premier host is problematic. We love the location and weather, but unit condition is an issue
