There is a Tennis Court, Swimming Pool with diving board, Fire pit, Large lawn and garden areas that are shared with the front house to just relax by the pool with your family and play tennis at this mini estate; Have a Bar-B-Q, or just to watch your favorite program on the flat screen TV. Modern, newly renovated with bamboo wood flooring and maple cabinets. Spacious Bedrooms with Memory foam King Bedroom and Queen bedroom. The living room and dining area are warm and inviting. This house is 1 block from our city treasure, Bidwell Park. It sits on one acre which is fully landscaped. Bring your tennis rackets. The Tennis court was just resurfaced and a regulation fence is surrounding the court. The yard is also fully fenced perfect for your pets. Built in speakers for your favorite music. The gazebo by the tennis courts is a favorite. The House was just completely remodeled and is ready to rent on a 3 day min or monthly basis. Perfect as a furnished executive rental for working or enjoying.

It was magical!

The property is amazing and Joyce provides everything you could possibly need to enjoy the wonderful pool, gardens, tennis court, and barbecue. We really enjoyed our stay! It is a very kid and pet friendly environment. I highly recommend staying here.

Great place, great host.

This is a great house, spacious, clean, in good neighborhood, in good location, quiet, near park and stores. Host (Joyce) was very helpful and flexible during our stay. Single story home with nice, fenced in yard. Great for dogs.

modest house in a working class neighborhood

I rented two homes from you. I got one, late, and was bounced from the other with a phone call two hours before I arrived. The lady said the house I rented from you on El Monte Ave was occupied, and so she moved me to a condo. Two hours before I got here she called and told me that. Then the house I rented on Vermillion was not ready at the appointed hour. The cleaning lady said she had another two hours of work to do before I could take occupancy. The condo you replaced the El Monte house with was not then ready either. What do you expect me and my family to do for the next two hours, drive around in circles until you finish? The house I rented from you on El Monte is a single story and has a swimming pool and jacuzzi. The condo you replaced it with it is two story, there is no pool, there is no jacuzzi, there is no TV, its in a mess of a place, and I am handicapped. I can't climb stairs, but the bedroom in the condo is on the second floor, and the owner, a nice woman who is new to the rental business, has no couch to sleep on downstairs. The condo is cluttered with all sorts of collected stuff, every wall is covered with pictures and photos, every table, shelf, nook and cranny has some sort of object adorning it, it is very small, there is no shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom, the stove is broken and I felt entirely unsafe staying there at night. The house on Vermillion has a parking problem because its garage is full of junk, like broken washers and dryers, and other such things. So it can't be used for cars. Parking at the condo was mostly unavailable. I feel cheated. I drove over to the El Monte Ave home I had bargained for but was deprived of. It's very nice. Much nicer than the condo I was switched to, at the very last minute. I am going to seek an accommodation from you for the last minute change in dwellings. You offer insurance protection for the trip, and then for the stay, well, where's my insurance from you that you will deliver what I paid for? You insisted on payments on Dec 15 for two rentals that were not to start until Dec 22. I can see why, now. I will be in touch with you after the first of the year, and we can have a discussion about how you treated my contracts.

Peaceful, Serene, Bidwell Park Access

This property turned out to be a perfect option for us. Clean, spacious, quiet, and right next to to Bidwell Park, allowing us to start our morning walks in the park right from here. The pool and spa were a great spot to relax by in the afternoon. With proximity to downtown, we were able to get to and from the heart of downtown in 5 minutes. We’ll be back!

Solid amenities, close to Bidwell Park, very short/direct drive to downtown.

We all loved the yard to run around in, the short walk to Bidwell Park (with horses to visit along the way), the very short and direct drive to downtown (and one freeway exit away from Sierra Nevada Brewery). I enjoyed the spa, and well enjoyed the comfortable home to build lego's, watch a movie, and play games.

Lovely Property

Joyce was an amazing host and had the place was very clean. She even had a Christmas tree set up for us which the kids loved! It was a perfect place for us to stay while visiting family over the holidays. The beds were very comfortable! We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

quiet, peaceful setting

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Was good to be back in Chico, walking distance to Bidwell Park, on the quiet side of town. Comfortable apt, all the amenities, our dogs even loved it. Will stay again.

Wonderful Rental Propert

As a traveling physical therapist, this was the perfect home to accommodate my needs for a short term rental. The apartment is fully furnished and well maintained and I enjoyed an entire summer by the pool :) The tennis courts were a bonus when the weather wasn't too hot, and I loved exploring the park nearby.

Great Host and a Beautiful Property

Joyce is a lovely host, she is so accommodating and easy to work with. She works hard to keep her property in order for her guests and it shows. Our favorite part of our stay here was lounging by the gardens and playing tennis in the tennis courts. We also enjoyed a dip in the pool on a warm day - needless to say this house is great for the sporty or outdoorsy! We will definitely be returning in the future.

Wonderful home in a beautiful location

Joyce's home, which she makes your home, is as beautiful as the pictures show. The saltwater pool is amazing, the tennis court is great, firepit is perfect for s'mores roasts, and the lawn and gardens are beautiful. She even puts fresh cut flowers from the garden in your unit. And Joyce herself is great, so friendly and accommodating, and she gives tips about restaurants, etc. Chico is a wonderful city, with the very beautiful Bidwell Park a block away and great for biking, walking, hiking, and taking dips in the creek. Don't miss the Thursday evening farmers market downtown (you can ride your bike through Bidwell Park to get there or drive, it's about 2 miles), there are yummy food trucks, lots of fresh produce, local crafts, bands in the park, and great people watching. There are actually 3 units on the property, a 2 bedroom unit, a 1 bedroom unit, and a studio. Each is large and well appointed and they are not crowded next to each other as the property is large. She gets a lot of repeat business, for good reason. This summer was my first (2 month) stay here, and I am hoping to return next summer.

Great stay by the Park

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rental. It's very clean and in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to Bidwell Park. Joyce and Bernie were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We definitely plan to stay here again.

A wonderful vacation paradise!

We absolutely loved staying here at Vista Del Monte. We stayed all of July for 31 days and had such a relaxing time surrounded by beautiful flowers and big trees. We loved the pool, tennis court, big lawn area, and Joyce was a very sweet and accomodating host! I also loved the on site laundry, the quiet neighborhood, and the mini fridge by the pool was so handy! We will definitely be back.

Relaxed and Happy

Took elderly parents and they were more than comfy, swimming with their Grand and Great Grandchildren in the pool and retreated to A/C while we played tennis and bbq'd. The grounds are fenced in with beautifully manicured flower beds and trees galore. Cabana's were nice touch. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks!

Wonderful Outdoor Space

Great stay. Enjoyed the beautiful yard, and spent many hours by the amazing SALTWATER pool. Close to the park, but also close enough to town to enjoy everything you want to see in town.

Best Kept Secret in Chico!

Vista del Monte is Chico’s best kept secret.. We were searching VRBO for a place that could accommodate eight of us for a small family reunion; Vista Del Monte sounded absolutely perfect – and it lived up to its idyllic description. Beautiful, spacious, warm and well furnished, Joyce’s home was our own personal family resort. We made use of the pool, the tennis courts, the fire pit and the expansive lawn during our time together. We even hosted a graduation party there, utilizing her barbeques, comfortable patio sets and a green lawn that goes on forever. Joyce made every resource available to us, from her spice drawers to her pool towels, to ensure that her home became our home for the duration of our stay. She even offered me fresh cut flowers from her exquisite garden. Vista del Monte will always hold a special place in our hearts because of the happy, intimate time our family spent together there. Joyce is a caring proprietor with a generous gift for hospitality.

Northern CA Wanna-Be

This is a fabulous get away. My husband and I have returned to stay with our great hosts, Joyce and Bernie, when we come from New Mexico and Maine to visit our kids. The place will surpass your expectations, with lovely decor...and so comfortable! The gardens and pool area enable a relaxing atmosphere where extended family and friends are welcome. Bidwell Park is a short stroll down the road and Chico if full of quaint shops, fine restuarants and , of course, Sierra Nevada Brew Company---be sure to hit their tour and restuarant.

Excellent place for an extended stay.

My wife and I stayed for a month which enabled us to be close to our daughter and her family as they expected the arrival of our new grand daughter. Our host were very welcoming and even arranged to have some large inflatable toys for our grandsons to play with when they spent time with us at the pool house. Joyce spent time with us around the pool talking about Chico and things to do in the area. The pool and surrounding grounds were perfect when we hosted a barbecue for our close family and friends.

Great Stay Even Better Property Owners

As there are actually three separate rental units at this address, this review is for the one referred to as the El Monte Master Suite. My wife and I stayed in this unit for the entire month of August and loved every minute of our time there. As a couple, the accommodations fitted our needs so very well. The Master Suite was well decorated, clean and comfortable. It had a small but well equipped kitchen, large living room with big picture windows, king sized bed, and a bathroom area “to die for”. The owners, Joyce and Bernie, were wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome and embraced us as part of their family. We made good use of the salt water pool and the gazebo areas, ate fresh figs off their fig tree and walked in Bidwell Park, a short distance away. The location is so convenient to travel anywhere in Chico. We unreservedly recommend a stay here.
