Nestled atop a tree-covered ridge, this 6 acre property will give you all the seclusion and tranquility you crave. Sip your morning coffee while listening to the birds, watching the deer, and letting peace and quiet reign. Perfect place for the angler, as we are just a stoneā€™s throw from the entrance of Roaring River and the hatchery. Room for everyone to spread out comfortably! Two large living rooms along with a three 3ļøāƒ£ seasons porch and outdoor seating.
In the evening, enjoy time around a fire pit with comfortable outdoor seating.
Beds for 8. Additional sleep spaces for 5 or more guests. Plenty of floor space for sleeping bags, too.
Three story home. Fiber internet with blazing fast WiFi. Two full living areas, allowing guests to spread out comfortably.

This was our second Thanksgiving at the home. It offers everything we need so close to family! We loved the new couch in the living room! The entire house and property are so cozy and comfortable.

Perfect for a weekend at roaring river. We had 9 adults which Iā€™d say maxed out the bed/couch room but there is plenty of floor space for air mattresses and cots. Over all a really good stay. Weā€™ll be back for sure.

Lovely home with comfortable furnishings, ample bedding & a well stocked kitchen. Property is tucked away so that it feels remote but is really centrally located to the local attractions. The house provided enough room for our crew of 9 to spread out, but we could also all sit down at the table for meals together or sit in one of the large living rooms to play a game. 2 bathrooms is always a challenge with our group, but we knew that going in & made it work.We did run into a few issues during our visit. On the evening we arrived, we went to prepare dinner and the ovens werenā€™t working. In messaging with Sara, it was determined they were vintage ovens & likely tripped a breaker as that happens sometimes. Sara provided direction to the box & we flipped the breaker. Not ideal, but workedAgain on the evening we arrived the house was warm, especially the 3 bedrooms upstairs. We found the thermostat & - although the temp it was set at was reasonable - the AC was struggling to achieve that temp in the house. We turned the thermostat down further so that we could get some sleep. We didnā€™t really think about adjusting the thermostat back up as the house never felt cold . . . this led to the unit freezing up & no AC for our 2nd night.Checking out on our last morning, we took all trash to the 1 bin at the end of the road only to find it completely full. The host, Sara, was great at communicating through all the issues & working to resolve them which was much appreciated.

We loved the location and the layout of the house. It was so nice having two living rooms so kids could be in one and adults in another. The history of the house is so cool and they had everything we needed. The host communicated very well and made sure all our needs were met.

This home was not only beautiful but they thought of little extras to make your stay great. Only suggestion from me would be to get a good set of pots and pans. Otherwise it was awesome!

Amazing visit to Roaring River

This house is a perfect oasis and we absolutely loved our stay, we only wish it was the fall so it was cool enough that we could enjoy some of the fabulous outdoor amenities (we still sat outside in the mornings for our coffee). The bedrooms worked well for our adults, and the children were relegated to the den to give them a fun private space. We even had a family game night at the huge dining table using games provided by the home owners. This place is really a diamond for anyone visiting Roaring River!

Yearly Friends Fishing Trip, 2025

Upon pulling in the driveway on Carlisle Ridge we immediately knew this would be a fabulous trip. The seclusion from normal daily life we all undertake daily was a welcome blessing. The home cleanliness was absolutely impeccable. The layout worked great for our group of 4 guys. Plenty of room to sprawl out and relax and the fire pit out back was in use from day 1 until departure! The location to Roaring River for our daily fishing expeditions was incredibly convenient and only minutes away. The owners are very thoughtful folks as the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans along with plenty of toiletries, laundry soap, dish soap, and daily cleaning items. Overall, as what appears to be a fairly recent VRBO listing I must say that the owners have done incredible with their listing. Hats off to them! We will absolutely be back for years to come. In fact, this was my top favorite VRBO rental ever over many years of trips. Can not wait to come back! Thanks again!

Great Spot to Stay for Fishing Trip

We loved the house and location. Less than 5 minutes from Roaring River State Park and a beautiful backdrop in the woods which felt secluded and private. Sara was a great host and was very easy to work with. The house had everything we needed and was a perfect setup for 8 grown adults.

Awesome property!

We had a group of 8 guys stay here for a fishing trip. We usually camp in the park so this was a nice luxury. Especially because a large hail storm rolled through the first night of our stay that knocked power out for the entire valley. Sara stayed in contact with us and even provided an extra propane tank so we could cook our catch for the day. The cabin is very nice and has a lot of character. 10 stars! Thanks Sara!
