Beautiful Quiet Historic Home W Private Pool Near Beach &Plaza

You will never want to leave this gorgeous, private, secure home. It is ideally located on a quiet street yet only a short walk away from the beach or the historic Plaza.
Two of its bedrooms have king size beds and the third has two single beds. Each is air-conditioned and has its own bath. The large, modern kitchen is fully equipped. Enjoy your morning coffee on the huge rooftop patio while flocks of parrots fly by. After a day of sightseeing there is a beautiful tiled pool to enjoy in the fully enclosed landscaped garden.
There are many artistic touches throughout the home including 20 foot beamed ceilings, custom cathedral skylights, stained glass and custom tile. The overall feeling is one of beauty yet comfort.
Maid service is provided 2X per week. Telephone calls to the US and throughout Mexico are free as is the wireless internet. A crib and stroller are available. The home is managed by a local caretaker who can orient you to the property and Mazatlan’s attractions.

Quiet and Gracious

We found this elegant property to be wonderfully peaceful, very comfortable and as advertised. Pepe (manager and property builder) was very nice. The pool was larger and deeper than we thought it would be. The roof top deck could be nice in the evening, but has no shelter from the sun. A couple hints: do use the pulmonias to get about. They can be found outside the Freeman Hotel a couple blocks away. We found most of the iconic restaurants in MZ to be not that good. However,we loved La Molcajeteria a few blocks north. totravel about - they can be

Great summer vacation!

Came to Mazatlan for a family vacation and surf contest. House was in the perfect location to all activities. Very comfortable and plenty of room for our party of seven. The small courtyard pool is a great cooling off spot after exploring the city. Would definitely return!

Our favorite place

This is second time visiting Mazatlan and at same wonderful house. Awesome location and even more so since the Dia de los Muertos parade came down the street this year right past the house! This time we hired Pepe to cook us up a wonderful meal (with 6kg of shrimp).

Best house, best neighborhood

This luxurious house is perfectly located between Olas Altas beach and downtown. The interior design is stunning. The courtyard with swimming pool was the hangout area. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with large showers. The kitchen is fully equipped. Pepe & Ixtel will take good care of you. This house is unforgettable.

Historical Mazatlan home

It has all you need, the home is beautiful and architecture is impeccable. The furnishings are beautiful as shown in the pictures. I recommend all to stay here. Walking distance to biscilica and plaza machado. Food was delicious and enjoyed themusic Thursday thu Sunday at the plaza.

Ah the life of luxury in Centro Historico

The photos do not lie, this is a very beautiful and well crafted home. The architect Pepe paid great attention to detail, and he is also a handy resource for local information. Despite the uncomfortable time of year mid-July, the house was a wonderful retreat from the heat with the private pool and bedroom A/C which helped cool the main area. Only regret was we didn't make use of the rooftop patio due to the intense sun. Highly recommended and wehope to be back again when weather is nicer.

This property receives top ratings for a good reason. It truly is a beautiful, comfortable, luxurious home. We spent 2 weeks there and spent several days just hanging around the house instead of sightseeing. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, parks, and a main plaza within a 5 minute walk on the narrow stone streets full of historic homes with lots of character. Pepe and Itzel are genuinely kind, welcoming staff that will happily help you with whatever you need. Same for Jorge the driver. If you choose this property you will not regret it.

Incredible place to stay In Mazatlan

This Hisotic property is a joy to stay in. Walk to Olas Altas and Malecon, all kinds of restaurants, plazas, Mercardo, etc. Very attentive owner and care taker makes the whole event turnkey. Awesome property

Can’t say enough good things about this beautiful house and our great stay. The location was perfect for walking many places. The owners obviously take allot of pride in their house from the design which Pepe did a fantastic job , to the decorating and art and Itzel was very kind. The pool was an extra added bonus we used almost every day. Thank you again for sharing your home. We will be back and definitely tell our friends about it.

Colonial Mazatlán

My wife, and two (more or less) adult children spent ten nights in this property. We were a bit nervous, having not used VRBO before, but the photos of the property were lovely, so we had high hopes. We were not disappointed in the least! The home was beautiful, and if you’re looking for a non touristy, colonial feeling part of the city, with narrow, clean streets, in walking distance of the Malacon and innumerable small eateries and shops, this is a wonderful choice. We were there in early June, hot and humid, but the small private pool in the walled courtyard was a perfect solution to a steamy walk. The AC was cold and needed, but only available in the bedrooms. At first this concerned me, but we found the air passing through the living room was usually enough, and the pool was our refuge if it was particularly hot. The Centro Histórico area in which this home is located, is undergoing a gentrification with much help from the local government. Police presence was frequent, but even walking late at night through narrow streets, I never felt unsafe. There are literally dozens of boutique shops and small eateries in a wide range of prices within a ten minute walk. If you want an experience where you order your drinks poolside and can order tours from the concierge (nothing wrong with that), then this isn't the place for you. But if you want to relax in a quiet, elegant property surrounded by colonial Spanish streets just a few minutes from the sea wall, this is a wonderful choice, and well worth it for a small group or family.

Amazing! Perfect Location!

What an amazing introduction to the beautiful city of Mazatlan! Staying at Casa Romanita de la Pena 123 is not only a beautiful location in the historic district but it is a beautiful place to stay. The home is well appointed with light-filled spacious, airy rooms. Each of the three bedrooms has an en suite bathroom. There is a lovely living area, with a dining room and a large kitchen. French doors lead out to the patio, pergola and pool with bubbling, soothing fountain. Around the corner, the stairs under the canopy of the mango tree lead you up to the rooftop, which is a nice way to begin the day with a cup of coffee. Dear Itzel welcomed us and showed us around and was available if we had any questions during our stay. Truly, I can’t wait to return to Casa Romanita de la Pena 123.

Fantastic home

Our family stayed in this home for 5 days. The proximity to the water and to good restaurants/entertainment is perfect. The home itself is even better in person than the pictures. Absolutely beautiful. the patio area with pool is perfect for your morning coffee. Most importantly, the home felt VERY safe at all times. We are already planning our next trip and will be staying here again!

Stunning! Peaceful! Beautiful! Surpassed our expectations in every way.

This 10 day vacation to MZT was my favorite vacation of all time, largely due to this amazing home. It looks beautiful in the pictures, but pictures don't do this place justice. From the moment we walked in, we were taken aback by the high ceilings and how large the house is. Upon arrival we were met by the property manager who is also the architect of the house. Pepe is very friendly and showed us around the home. From there we took a very short walk over to the malecon and enjoyed all the sights, sounds, and flavors the playa has to offer. Breathtaking architecture, friendly people, amazing food, and adventure were all right around the corner from this amazing home. The rooftop terrace was the perfect place to unwind after a long day, and our kids loved the pool. The kitchen and large dining table were perfect for our large family. The bathrooms were well stocked with plenty of towels and we really enjoyed the large over-sized showers. The internet clocked in at about 20mbps which is plenty fast enough for our kids to watch youtube on multiple devices and for my oldest to stream video games on his PS4. There is a seperate office where I could have worked from, but who wants to work on vacation right? If I could rate this home a 10 I would. We are very thankful to have stayed in this home and will most certainly be booking again With Eva and Michael next year when we return to MZT.

Fabulous stay at Casa Marez!

Casa Marez is as beautiful as it appears in all the VRBO pictures - it completely renovated exquisitely furnished. The three large bedrooms and en suite bathrooms are perfect for three couples. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, and everything needed for making guacamole and huevos rancheros. The location could not be better! Located on a quiet street in the “Centro” just two blocks away from the Malcon, the lovely ocean front 5 mile ‘boardwalk’ from the Centro to the big hotels in the “Golden Zone”. Everything is within walking distance...and what isn’t is easily accesses by the ever present golf cart “pulmonias” or the “red trucks”. We enjoyed the sunset views from the top of the Posada Freeman hotel, deep sea fishing with Aries Charters out of the El CID marina, and .... the incredible beach on Stone Island (Isla de la Piedra) which goes on for MILES. Plan to spend the day over there relaxing at Lety’s and enjoying a wonderful lunch. Casa Marez is just blocks from the old square which has many, many fine restaurants. Dinner at Casa 46 is a must as is Topolos. An don’t miss the opportunity to shop at the Mercado for fresh ingredients for guacamole and huevos rancheros. Fabulous location!

Beautiful home away from home

A fantastic stay at Casa de Michael! Loved the house, the spaciousness, the design, the peacefulness - you really feel at home here. Great location - can easily walk to beach, centro plazas and many excellent restaurants. Hosts Pepe and Itzel are wonderful, ready to help with any needs or questions. Highly recommend staying here if you want a more authentic and local Mazatlan experience away from the tourist areas. Gracias de nuevo por todo!

As beautiful as the pictures are, they do not do this home justice.

Area was quiet and safe, we had no issues or problems. Pool was the perfect size and a welcomed relief from the heat. I hope to be able to stay at this home on all future trips to Mazatlan.

**Great Vacation

Beautiful home near the beach and plaza. You will not regret staying here. The only bad thing was that most of the streets in Mazatlan are under construction which made it a little difficult to get to the house at first. Other than that we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house and would definitely come back soon.

Loved the house, Mazatlan and Pepe and Itzel.

This is a unique and lovely house in Centro Mazatlan. Quiet but very near the beach. We walked to dinner every evening. All streets in Centro Mazatlan are under construction which was a bit of an issue but it was great to see the workers laying brick streets by hand. Look forward to going back to see finished Centro area. Will be beautiful. This was a fabulous trip: wonderful house, caretakers (thanks to Pepe & Itzel for arranging Jorge - a great driver), beach, restaurants, tequila factory tour, and wonderful Mazatlan. We will return.

We chose to purchase a home in Mazatlan due to the wonderful climate and outstanding food in the area. The historic district has beautiful colonial architecture and maintains the feel of a true Mexican town with the advantage of being steps away from the ocean. Our home is on a quiet street within walking distance of everything from the Plaza Machada with it's restaurants and cultural events to the malecon that rambles for miles along the ocean.
