Sleeps 6 across two king bedrooms and a queen pull-out sofa in the living room. Pine interior with a gas stove and forest views from every window. Step outside the door to ski, bike, or hike straight onto the trail network. Covered rear porch with a propane grill and Adirondack chairs. Dogs welcome.
The Space:
Trailside Retreat sits at the edge of the forest on the Wilson Ranch property, with the Sandy Butte trail passing directly past the cabin in winter for door ski-in ski-out access to the Upper Methow Nordic trail system. In summer the same trails serve mountain biking and hiking. The Methow Community Trail also runs through Wilson Ranch, connecting to the Jacks and River Run trails and the Mazama trailhead hub.
The wood-paneled living room has a fold-out couch (makes up into a queen bed), an easy chair, a dining table for six, a wide-screen TV, wood floors, and a gas stove. Both bedrooms are carpeted, each with a king bed and corner windows looking out into the forest. The galley kitchen has been upgraded with a new large built-in refrigerator-freezer, alongside an electric range with oven, dishwasher, microwave, and pod coffee maker with kettle and toaster. The cabin has a compact bathroom with shower. A small mudroom by the entry has hooks and bench seating for boots and gear.
Outside, a rear porch holds a propane grill and a pair of red Adirondack chairs, with a picnic table among the trees nearby. The cabin makes a comfortable Mazama basecamp for up to six guests.
The Neighborhood:
MAZAMA
Wilson Ranch is located 2 miles (10 minute bike ride) from the Mazama Store and the Methow Trails trailhead (for great hiking, mountain biking and cross-country ski trail options). In addition to the store with its great bakery and grocery, Mazama is home to the Goat’s Beard outdoor store (with mountain bike and fat bike rentals), the Mazama Ski School for cross country ski hire and lessons and the Mazama Public House. Please be aware that the Sandy Butte Bistro at the nearby Freestone Inn is not currently operating, and Jack's Hut may or may not be open on a very limited basis.
NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK
The Wilson Ranch cabins are also conveniently situated for easy access to the North Cascades and the trailheads to many of the Park's world-class hiking trails. It’s under 20 minutes' drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 25 minutes to Washington Pass and 30 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead. Great for beating the crowds and snagging a trailhead parking spot at peak seasons.
