Amazing location and property management.

Our stay was full of fun with access to the pool to swim and nice dock to fish. It was so relaxing for all of our family. When we had questions the owners were super responsive and I would recommend this to any family or friend group for a vacation spot.

Family vacation

The Lucky Duck is beautiful. The location is great. The beds were comfortable and we loved the sofa downstairs. We enjoyed the pools and the guys fished off of the dock. It was a great time with family. Everything was spectacular!

Long weekend getaway

Property was everything listing said and more. Private pool is a must and was cool and refreshing. As with everything else, life happens but the owners handled it all with ease and communication

Had lots of fun and the home is beautiful!

We loved our stay here at the Lucky Duck Dive! The pool was great to swim with our babies under one. Easy lake access. The painted wall made for a nice family photo. The property was very clean and felt cozy. Definitely planning on staying again next year!

Labor Day Weekend

Our family of 10 loved everything about The Lucky Duck. The decor, the pool, the room for everyone to feel comfortable and the use of the kayak and paddle board. We had a wonderful time and will definitely book again with Kesa and Shaun. They are great Hosts.

4th of July Trip

There were 10 of us -took our boat. Caught alot of fish and played on the lake. Also played in the pool. Had a great time. Highly recommend this property....

Our family of 9 had a great time. There was plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the water as well as the house. The only negative was we never got the pool cleaned. But we only used it a couple times so no big deal. The stairs are no joke! But it was great exercise!

4th of July on the Lake

The Lucky Duck was an amazing property! Big enough for our big family (8 adults and 4 kids). The pool spoiled us and we did not make it down to the lake much. When we did it was nice, but the convenience of the pool and the debris around the deck led us to spending lots of times in the pool and around the gazebo. Grilled out multiple nights on the propane grill. Went into town one day and spent a few hours at the Wedowee Winery. Absolutely recommend. Very nice neighborhood. Even got to see some fireworks from the neighbors dock on the 4th. Main living area worked great for cooking dinners and sitting around the table sharing laughs. Basement is very spacious and we were able to get my son’s Nintendo Switch hooked up to enjoy some game time on the TV down there. The older boys really enjoyed the basement and made it “their chill spot” when they were not outside. Beds are all super comfortable. Let’s not forget the “Frisky Frog” at the Lucky Duck - the separate shed bar off the house and pool area. We all enjoyed several games of darts and multiple fun nights kicking it up out there. The owners; Kesa and Shaun were amazing. They came multiple times to make sure the pool was good and even pulled out a Lilly pad that the kids could use at the dock on the lake. They were very responsive and very friendly. Really great people. I would recommend staying at The Lucky Duck!

Good stay, friendly responsive host

A portion of our extended family gathered here for a semi-last-minute Thanksgiving getaway. We had a really nice time and were especially appreciative of the large number of dishes and the cleanliness of the house. The host was extremely responsive, welcoming and friendly and acted quickly and generously when issues arose (we had an HVAC malfunction), even on a holiday weekend. There are some things to be aware of when booking this house. The listing does clearly state that all bedrooms are either up or down stairs, but it's important to note that the stairs going up to the second floor are not all the same height. There is one very tall one towards the bottom that resulted in a fair number of trips and stumbles within our group.Though clearly clean, there were paint splatters all over the floors and, much more importantly, all over the bathtub where we bathed our small. children. Probably not harmful, but not ideal. Finally, we all found the checkout instructions a bit onerous, particularly the need to dry and put away all the dishes vs the more standard practice of leaving the dishwasher running or hand-washed dishes drying on the mat. We would of course always leave a rental house tidy with clean dishes and take out smelly kitchen garbage, but having to dry and put away everything in the kitchen, remove all trash across the entire house, strip all the beds and bring all linens and towels to the laundry room, etc. felt like a but much. We did enjoy our stay, though.

This home is amazing! We had a wonderful time at THE LUCKY DUCK! This home had everything we needed for an amazing getaway. The pool was so relaxing. The home on the waterfront made for super easy and enjoyable lakeside lounging. The house had everything we needed. Kitchen is stocked with all the essentials. Open floor plan allowed for everyone to be together in the same area, and the bedrooms and basement allowed for quiet times to retreat. I cannot think of anything we needed while we were there that the home didn't have! Kesa and Shaun were very responsive. We would definitely stay here again! Loved it.

This lake home is very spacious. We had eleven people in our family and had plenty of room. We were excited about the lake, but had lots of fun in the pool. The host are easy to contact and address any concerns.

We stayed here for a mother/daughter trip and made some great memories. The house is very cute and decorated nicely, and the owner was very communicative and quick to respond whenever we had questions or concerns.Unfortunately, there were a few issues that were disappointing, especially considering we paid almost 2,000 for three nights. When we arrived, there was a strong odor around the pool area. The owner even came out to remove ant bait, but the smell never went away. We also noticed quite a few spider webs inside the house, the dock area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, and the patio furniture also looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. Another issue for us was the pool. Several people in our group experienced skin irritation after swimming. Adding water seemed to help some, and the girls swam but a couple of them still complained that the water stung their skin. My daughter swam in another pool right after our trip without any problems, so we don’t think it was just her skin being sensitive.We still had a fun trip and are thankful for the time spent with our girls, and we appreciated how responsive the owner was. However, because of the issues we experienced, this isn’t a property we would choose to stay at again.

Thank you Carrie. I appreciate your choosing to stay at our house and am glad you made positive memories with your friends and children. Spiders do tend to love areas near water and can accumulate daily near a lake (we mention these things in the handbook) and there are indeed some dirty pillow cushions on outdoor chairs due to excessive rain the past few weeks. As to the pool...you reached out on day 2 of your 3 day stay with your concern and we did what we could to assist. The pool chlorine was tested before and after your stay with the same perfect results as to all levels. Mixing lake swimming and pool swimming can cause skin irritation for some though I am no expert. I can however assume that based on your daily group use of the pool, the alleged issue did not deter the vast majority of your guests. The group of 10 that left the day you arrived and the group of 6 that came in the day you left have had no issues with the pool or any smell. Not sure what more we could have done to accommodate your stay other than offer a refund..which I was not inclined to do when there is an allegation of a pool issue yet the majority of the guests are using the pool daily. I do however agree that some things are not a good fit . All the best!
