We had a wonderful stay! The house was well appointed, clean, and had everything we needed. The views were absolutely stunning and made for a relaxing, scenic getaway. Instructions for check-in and check-out were clear and easy to follow. Overall, it was the perfect spot for our trip — highly recommend!

My stay at this beautiful house was absolutely amazing! The views were stunning, which made it the perfect weekend getaway. The host was incredibly welcoming and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking to relax and recharge. Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely home

The home was clean, nicely decorated, and had plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our family. We enjoyed the lovely water views from the deck and the changing foliage around the property. It was close to everything we needed- grocery store, gas station, etc. We would highly recommend staying here!

So lovely!

The property, house design and comfort, and views were better than we could have even imagined! We only stayed one night but wished it was longer! And the property manager was sooo great, answering all message so fast! We hope to come back and stay for longer!

Handsome and very private House on a Hill

Beautifully designed space.... fresh, clean, well appointed. Great views from every window: a lovely lake, lots of outdoor seating areas scattered between the bedrock and boulders and deep woods offer privacy.

Perfect Scenic Getaway

This property was even more beautiful than it appeared in the photos. The wooded backyard was also spacious and lovely. We were so happy with the view of the lake and how peaceful the space was. The owners are easy to communicate with and prompt to respond. We will absolutely be going back.

Incredible & beautifully designed home

We went to the area to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday with some friends and absolutely loved the home. It was brand new and decorated immaculately. It comfortably fit our group and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The hosts were super accommodating and quick to respond. Would absolutely reccomend and go again!

Lovely retreat

Beautiful modern home with great views over the pond and woods. Super comfortable and many amenities. I really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was with pots and pans that you can actually cook with compared to most VRBO's. Only drawback is that the area isn't really walkable. Busy road with minimal shoulder and you can't get down to the pond. We drove to a number of great hikes in the area though. Bonus: the woods behind the house were home to a couple great horned owls calling to each other in the early mornings.

Far more than we expected!

From the initial inquiry through checkout, our hosts were extremely welcoming and responsive. I grew up in the area and have family still living in Putnam and visit frequently from out of state. The Parole Lakehouse will be our new home away from home!! Pictures do this gorgeous home no justice! From layout to views, decor and comfort, accessibility and thoughtfulness...it really has become our favorite short term rental to date! Easy access to the highway, metro north train (Southeast or Brewster), dining, shipping or simply relaxing and enjoying the peace-we highly recommended the Parole Lakehouse! If you are not an early riser and are staying in the primary suit, I recommend bringing a sleep mask. The gorgeous wall of windows will bring in early morning light, but that was PERFECT for us!! Coffee on the porch watching the mist rise from the water was a perfect way to start our day!!

Perfect weekend stay!

We wanted to spend a night in cold spring after a hike but couldn't find anything last minute in the area, so ended up booking this lovely property a little bit away. At first I was skeptical because of the drive (about 40-45 mins if I remember correctly). But I'm so glad we ended up doing this. Cold spring was just so busy and crowded, we couldn't even get lunch easily. The property is located right across a lake and is on a rather quite street. We reached the property around 5pm just in time for sunset which we enjoyed sitting on the deck. There's something about a water body and sunsets that is just so calming!! We were staying with our friends and their kids. The kids were super excited to see the bunk beds first and then had a fight to claim the loft bed (which was definitely a highlight for them). The property is very tasteful done and has enough things to keep people of all age groups engaged (board games, shuffle board telescope). Our dogs had a grand time playing in the backyard too. Though be careful, the property isn't fenced. So couldn't leave them unattended. The hosts we're nice to leave treats for the kids and dogs. Overall a great little getaway with not enough time to really enjoy everything it had to offer!
