I have mixed feelings about this place.On the positive side, the price is unbeatable. The flat is also largeā€”we were eight people and had plenty of space. Coffee was provided, which was a nice touch. The location is great as well, about 20 minutes from Times Square by bus. There is also an incredible bagel shop around the cornerOn the negative side, the place really needs a deep cleaning, especially the kitchen, which was very greasy. There was dust under the beds and stains on the sheets. The bathroom, however, was clean. We also had an issue with the heating: the thermostat didnā€™t work. The first nights were unbearably hot. We told the owner, who said he would fix it, but after that it became freezing.

We were there during a little bit of a heat wave so it was extremely hot in the kitchen while cooking. Cover the value for the spot and how close it was to get over. New York was great. Stay for us.

Me and my group had a great time and slept well in the rooms, beds were very comfortable and ACs were fine. Thereā€™s a bucket underneath the kitchen sink that was catching a pipe leak and it caused our kitchen to smell terrible in the morning. We experienced a short circuit in the kitchen as well from using some appliances, but it took a while to get tended to after reaching out. Overall, it was a good time spent but I wish there was more communication on the condition of the house.

The beds are comfortable. The place gets really hot even when adjusting the temp. The a/c unit in one room did not work & it was the hottest room (the one right beside the kitchen). Some of the bath towels had stains. The restroom was not clean when we arrived. Gets pricey having to take the NJ transit to NYC. There is a door with a sign to keep closed, when you enter. Well one day we noticed that the door was open. I messaged the host & his reponse was itā€™s an entry to basement and not to worry about it. The day of check out we noticed a male come out of the basement, donā€™t know if it was the host or someone else. It would have been nice to know someone was staying down there to not alert us this way.

Nice reasonably priced place

I stayed with my granddaughter and two of her friends. The place served us perfectly -- a comfortable place to sleep, eat breakfast and return to after spending the day in NYC. We did not use public transportation so I don't know how convenient that is, instead we Ubered into the city each day.

The apartment was large and spacious. It is walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. Conveniently located close to transit and in a safe neighborhood. The parking is very safe. Off street and secure. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped.

The apartment has great character. However, my husband spent first 2 hours cleaning the kitchen.The beds were uncomfortable, so much so we left early. The dining room chairs were counter chairs.

Clean and comfortable, good location.

This place worked out well with our 2 grandchildren as well as our dog. The off street parking was probably its best asset. The bathroom was newly renovated, however it was advertised as 1.5 baths but there was only 1 bath. We were also told it had a whirlpool tub but it was just a large shower.

Great location

The location was great however the description of the rental unit was off a bit. It looks like the description has been updated recrntly so it seems like it will be good for future stays. Overall decent stay- would recommend pest control as we noticed ants in the bedrooms. (No food was around). Great location- easy to commute to the city.

Great price, up and coming area

We booked this trip for Easter weekend. Location was close the American dream mall where we spent a da at the water park. Close proximity to Liberty State park where we spent another day touring the Statue of Liberty. The neighborhood is definitely up and coming. We felt safe in the area and walked to a nearby church and Dunkin Donuts. The Hutton, a restaurant nearby, is definitely worth checking out! Overall, the rental was clean and we were supplied with basics. I had to reach out to the owner for check in info (key codes) but he was quick to respond.

Long weekend stay

Location was perfect for what I needed more than enough. Space property was immaculate. My only suggestion is every time you come downstairs. Make sure you bring the keys with you. There are other people that are there and will lock the door behind you. Other than that, I have no complaints. It was worth the money spent.

Entry and arrival process was very smooth process. Driveway parking was provided. Owner communicated check-in details and wifi in ahead of time, however, WiFi log in info did not work and owner was not communicative when we reached out about it. Additionally, one of the bedrooms need a lightbulb replaced. We found a replacement in the closet. Would recommend for small friend gatherings but be mindful parking is difficult for guests.

Enjoyed the stay.

Enjoyed the house and its location to Manhattan with a quick 20 min drive to get there. The apartment was mostly clean, but when I pulled out the dresser to plug in my phone there was a lot of garbage, used Q-Tips etc behind it. Upon arrival we found only 3 towels and 1/2 a roll of toilet paper for 5 people for 3 days. When contacting the owner I received no response.

When we arrived, there was a bucket under the kitchen sink that smelled terrible, and we had to clean the property ourselves before settling in. The listing also didnā€™t mention that the property is on the second floor. Throughout our stay, the downstairs neighbor kept banging on the ceiling, even when no one was walking or making noise.Although the listing states that events are allowed, the downstairs neighbors were extremely rude. I had informed the host that I was having a small birthday gathering, but even while my cousins and I were just sitting quietly in the living room, we were still being disturbed by banging.If I had known the property was on the second floor with such unfriendly neighbors, I wouldnā€™t have booked it. On the positive side, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. However, there was no toilet paper or towel in the bathroom to dry hands. The kitchen utensils were dirty and there were barely any available. Overall, the bathroom and living room were decent, but the rest of the experience was disappointing.

Solid Spot to Rest Overnight

We stayed overnight to attend a wedding in Brooklyn on Friday evening. The property offered spacious rooms for relaxing and eating together. The space is on the second level with a flight of steep stairs so less ideal for anyone with joint issues/older folks. The only disappointment I had was lack of cutlery to prepare breakfast and lack of Keurig machine despite K Cups all around. Most properties Iā€™ve stayed at maintain essentials such as olive oil as well, but I was able to make it work. This property met our needs for one night but isnā€™t a location I would choose for a longer stay based on kitchen/supplies.

Pay for a hotel.

This property looks good on the pictures listing. Bathroom was very dirty, toilet clogged reached out to owner and no response i had to pay 265 out of pocket and till today have not been reimbursed. Kitchen ware was old and outdated. Bedrooms beds all were old and made alot of noise, birds living on the air units could not sleep in that room. Towels were unwashed and not enough essentials for the group, no trash bags. Just pay a little extra and stay at a hotel or at least not this property.

The Host Is Horrible- Place Was Filthy

The host has this property listed as a place that allows events for 10 people. I rented the space for one night for my family and I to have a small holiday gathering. The host then calls me and tells me that that we have to end it or else it will get shut down because they only allow events of 4 people. Which was very misleading. I called him to try and gain some understanding on the situation and he hangs up on me while Iā€™m talking. On top of that everything in the house was dirty we had to clean everything thoroughly when we got there and couldnā€™t use any of the towels because they had stains and dirt on them

Decent condo but poor description of amenities.

The check in process was lacking and never received email instructions for checking in or checking out. Host met us on the street and unlocked the unit and gave us the key (that was it). Once inside the unit was very spacious and clean. But there is only one bathroom here, there is NO half bath. Also there is no bathtub. The listing says Hot Tub and that is certainly not here either. The stairs getting into apt are very steep and sharp so would not be handicap accessible so please be aware of that before booking.

Stay away - bedbugs in property

We had to leave after the first night because of nasty bedbugs. We used all 3 bedrooms and 2 of them had bedbugs. My dad and daughter couldnā€™t sleep because they were itchy and in the morning we found a bedbug. I called and texted the owner numerous times with no answer so I called Vrbo customer service. Unfortunately never heard back from the owner, he didnā€™t even attempt to call/text. And dealing with Vrbo was a pain, kept me on the phone for over 2 hours without a good resolution. I guess I will have to fight to get a refund!! Also, when we arrived the key wasnā€™t on the lockbox and the air conditioner in one room wasnā€™t working. Owner did solve these 2 issues quickly though, at least that!!
