The Mallard Island house is a very unique property. It sits right on the water. It's cozy, comfortable and has plenty of windows. The neighborhood is very quiet, yet there are two great restaurants within a 5-minute walk, and any services you might need are within a 5-minute drive. Long Beach Island is about 14 minutes away.The crabbing at the end of the dock is excellent. We caught our dinner and never had to leave the property. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The house was great...very comfortable, clean and as advertised! Host was very attentive and available and a pleasure to deal with. Minutes from LBI! We would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Owner was terrific at getting back to me if I had any questions. The place is even nicer and bigger than the photos suggest. Beautiful location, right on the water. Well-equipped kitchen, a deck overlooking the water. Check in & out smooth as can be.

Had an amazing family vacation at the Mallard island home. Quiet and quaint. The open floor plan makes it feel roomy and perfect to hang with the family. Benjamin was accommodating and checked in as needed. He was nice enough to set some crab pots right off the dock which my kids absolutely loved. We had some blue crabs for dinner our second night. The home is in a quiet area, but just a few minutes from the bridge to LBI. Stores, restaurants, and shopping within minutes as well. We will definitely be returning. It was a great little place where the bay breeze didn’t disappoint and the sunrise was amazing. Thanks again Benjamin.

Fantastic stay at an authentic Mud City crabber’s home

Our stay at on Mallard Island totally exceeded our expectations. The home was clean and charming, and our host Benjamin was accommodating and kind! Our favorite room was the sunroom in the back facing over the bay and LBI. SO lovely sitting there at night with open windows, feeling the breeze, and hearing the gentle sound of the water outside. We saw dozens of hummingbirds sitting there too. Simple and a great way to experience Mud City with quick access to LBI. Definitely would consider staying here again!
A delicious crab FEAST we cooked up while here.
Local cats were friendly too, tons of humming birds at this feeder.

Directly on the water, not a bad thing to say about the property. Ben the owner gave us space but also checked in daily to ensure we were happy. He had crab traps and let us cook them up. What an experience for a small family or couple. Only 5 minute drive to the beach, we went on 4th of July weekend and there was no bridge traffic. We aer going to book house again

Pictures don’t do this place justice

We had an absolute wonderful stay. The neighborhood is so peaceful. Neighbors are very nice. The house itself accommodated my husband, our two girls, my mother and myself perfectly. The VRBO photos don’t do this place justice. There are three total bedrooms; which is a little hard to tell based on the photos. The two main bedrooms are spacious and the sunroom bedroom is bigger than it looks in the photo. It was very clean with plenty of fresh linen and towels. Ben was a great host! Very communicative. He messaged me throughout our stay with tidbits of information about local events happening that my family might enjoy. We loved watching the hummingbirds from the sunroom and top patio. I really have no complaints whatsoever. We’ll definitely be back for another stay when we’re back in the area.

Peaceful

The property was in a quiet neighborhood not far from the island and close to everything. Very serene atmosphere with a beautiful sunrise. Host was exceptionally friendly and checked in to make sure everything was good.

Weekend away

Very peaceful to be just at the water's edge. The kitchen has a very adequate supply of plates/pots/cups, etc. Washer/dryer a plus. Very Clean and Comfortable. Thank you!

Stay review

Was a great house too stay at we enjoyed the house the whole time we were there. Super close too the beach only a 5 min ride over the bridge. Great view out the back door as well as on the dock.

Amazing view on the bay

We had a very enjoyable stay on the water!! Very clean and comfortable home!! You can’t beat the waterfront view from the living room and porch. You will enjoy the long dock to walk out on any time of day. Thanks for sharing this lovely home !!

Breezy and beautiful

I have to begin by saying that the pictures do the house no justice, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It’s a wonderful cozy place, but still big enough so that you don’t feel confined. the breeze room , is incredible relaxing
 sitting there and breezes just blowing from all directions while you’re looking at the water. It’s very tranquil. Of course the house is right on the water so you get incredible views of the water and all the wildlife in the area, the town is very lovely. Also, there’s good food real close by. And also, I would like to mention Ben the host he is wonderful to work with. We had four nights planned. A lot of them days were kind of cloudy so he let us stay an extra day. An extra day was really great because that day was beautiful. It was really nice of him. He’s definitely a wonderful host. And here’s a fun fact, Ben built the house himself. I’m sure if you come here you will enjoy your time away.

July 27 Weekend Review

Ben, the property was as described. The views are great and time spend on the dock was very relaxing. A couple of things I would suggest is to provide some basics like small soaps/conditioner for the shower. Keurig pods, sugar, non-dairy creamers, various spices and oil to allow guests to cook meals. Wine glasses, even non-stemmed glasses would be nice. There were a couple of games and cards, but maybe a few more for guests to play and relax. Overall, we had a good time. Thanks, John

We spent 3 nights here; the view of LBI is spectacular. The house is small, but is clean and comfortably cradled between the bay and the quaint neighborhood with great dining options a walk away. We found that you can miss morning and evening traffic to/from LBI very easily by driving a little bit early or late, as the bridge is conveniently a minute drive away from the house. Checking-in was very simple; the host was very accommodating and let us arrive earlier than usual. We would stay again.

Great nature viewing spot

Beautiful views of the bay. Bring binoculars to watch birds in the marsh. Easy walk to two great restaurants, and trip over the island to LBI very easy.
