Cozy loft retreat w/Mountain Views in Mtn City near VA Creeper Trail & Damascus.

Newly remodeled mountain loft is tucked away in a quiet woodsy setting, with sleeping for 4. The loft has a spacious deck with high top table and chairs for taking in the beautiful mountain views. Rustic interior has full kitchen with bar seating and table and chairs for 4. The kitchen has stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, air fryer, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, toaster. Utensils, pots and plans along with basic seasonings and spices are provided. Soap and dishwasher detergent provided.

The bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed. Bed linens are provided and beds will be made. Two futons in the living area, one full size, one queen size, offer additional sleeping areas.

The full bathroom is accessed via the bedroom and has shower/tub combo. Towels and a hair dryer are provided.

The lower level has rec room and laundry areas. The rec area has a TV, ping pong table, a second refrigerator and table/chairs for 4. The laundry has washer/dryer/sink. Laundry soap and such are provided.

Nearby area attractions include bike riding on the Va Creeper Trail, hiking the Appalachian Trail, boating and fishing on Watauga Lake, Off-Roading at Doe Mountain Recreation area. Additional hiking at Mount Rogers and Grayson Highlands.

The property is located about 10mins drive from downtown Mountain City, TN and about 20mins drive to Damascus, VA. Boone and Blowing Rock, NC and Bristol, VA are accessible as well.

Parking for 4 vehicles. Additional parking for trailers available if requested.

Our stay was amazing. Easy check in and check out property was amazing great communication with host would highly recommend to anyone. You will not be disappointed one of the best experiences I’ve had. Looking forward to staying there again we do this trip every year and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. This was a 10 out of 10 experience.

I absolutely loved this place. Secluded and a gorgeous view, yet so close to the places we wanted to visit. The place was super clean, loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the mountain air and view! Ping pong was a hit also

Wonderfully quiet, peaceful private place, yet close enough to town. We enjoyed the farm roads and the beautiful surprise view. Loved the hemlock walls and ceiling. Very cool. Appreciated all the extra space to put things, and hang things up. Good shower. Nice kitchen. Everything we needed plus modern rustic charm. The porch was our favorite. We’ll be back.

This place was perfect! It was very Clean and had everything that we needed. The view was amazing and the deck was so relaxing. It was really nice to get away for the weekend and recharge. Thank You for sharing your cabin with us.

The view was awesome. The candles outside helped with the flies & mosquitoes. Very quiet and peaceful place to unwind. Very spacious and clean. The kitchen was stocked and having a washer and dryer on site was great. We saw either bear cubs or deer each day of our stay. It was a wonderful experience. Jeff was easy to get in contact with any questions we had. Would stay at the loft again.

I booked a long-term stay at The Loft for 7 weeks to escape the Florida heat. Had an amazing time, everything about the place was far beyond what I imagined. Very clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly want and more. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet mountain retreat then you'll love it here. The view of the mountains from the deck are breathtaking, great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. You'll feel like you're the only person on the mountain except for the deer, wild turkey, and the occasional black bear wandering around. Jeff was a great host. Any questions or concerns that I had were immediately addressed. I will definitely book The Loft again the next time I'm in Tennessee.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was incredibly cozy, clean, and comfortable, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, making meals easy and enjoyable during our stay.Our boys absolutely loved the ping pong table! The view was simply breathtaking—one of the most beautiful we've experienced—and we found ourselves constantly stopping to take it all in.We also accidentally locked ourselves out during our stay, and the host was amazing. He responded quickly, helped us get back in right away, and was very kind and pleasant to communicate with throughout the entire process.We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would absolutely love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Very discrete clean little cabin up on a hilltop. Very quiet and secluded with amazing views and a nice patio of the bedroom. The host gave perfect instructions and directions. Will definitely stay here again!!

Perfect hideway

While the initial trek up the driveway in the dark was daunting, everything about our stay was great. The cabin is comfortable, spacious, and has all the basics. I'd definitely stay here again.

This was a relaxing weekend. The cabin is secluded yet the area still has activities to nearby. We really enjoyed having breakfast and coffee overlooking the mountains. Great directions for everything we needed. Thank you!

This is a beautiful cabin. The view of the surrounding mountains was picturesque. The raised deck was a perfect place for all of us to hang out and take in everything The cabin was in excellent shape and exceptional clean. Kitchen was nicely stocked with lots of essentials.I will stay here again when i come back

Excellent stay!

My husband and I really appreciated how quiet and cozy the Loft is. The hosts are local which is always nice and they keep their property very clean. The beds are super comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The view is outstanding and honestly would be great for family or bridal photos. You can also see so many different animals on the drive in. It was a wonderful mountain visit.

A Quiet Getaway

The Loft is indeed cozy, quiet, and a bit off the beaten path. The view is pretty, and it is a relief to step out of the car and not hear ambient traffic noise. I hope to return again.

Overall impression is very positive. I booked the property in mid-May to attend the Damascus Trail Days festival on a two week drive/hike of the Appalachian Trail. I returned to The Loft in late May with my wife. This is special place...rustic cabin-like feel yet well equipped, spectacular mountain views, quiet seclusion but close to all modern conveniences. We enjoyed spending time in both Damascus and Mountain City. If you go, visit the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and Damascus Outfitters in Damascus. Also, on Saturday evening there's an impromptu show of classic cars on Mountain City's main street. Oh, and bring a bike to ride the Virginia Creeper bike path. Did I mention Watauga Lake? So much to enjoy in this area. Go!

Quiet retreat

The property is clean and very well equipped. The extra directions Jeff provided were very helpful in getting to the property, especially as we arrived after dark. The views are incredible and the peaceful setting is perfect for a chance to unwind is perfect for a getaway

Very vice cozy spot. Very clean and and seemed to be fairly new. Awesome view up on a hill. Driveway was steep but it is paved and was not slippery when wet. Will return in future if i am needing to be in the area!

Peaceful

To say this property was quiet and peaceful is an understatement. We throughly enjoyed our visit. The host is so kind and responsive. The place was so clean and beautiful. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay memorable. My husband loved the brown chair in the living room. He said,”this is a man’s chair” He definitely took a few naps in it during our trip. Thank you for a pleasant and relaxing vacation.

Great place. Great view. Great communication and guests on the first evening.....a Mama bear and her 2 cubs.Too bad we weren't ready with our cameras when they strolled across the yard. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful home. For future guests, the instructions say not to leave food in your car. That's a good rule and I'm glad our car was already unloaded.

This review covers two stays in May 2026...I liked it so much the first time that I brought my wife back to enjoy it. And she loved it! This garage apartment sits at 2800 feet on a secluded hill with the most incredible mountain views. It's rustic charm upstairs provides a very cabin-like feel with a cozy and comfortable living room, kitchen, separate bedroom and bath. The downstairs has a spacious rec room with TV and ping-pong table, a second refrigerator and a laundry. The host has outfitted the rental with high quality towels, kitchen appliances, utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc. to ensure us VRBOers lack nothing and enjoy our stay. And there is a table and chair set on the deck outside the bedroom where we enjoyed our morning coffee taking in the views. The cabin is close to both downtown Mountain City, TN and Damascus, VA. The Appalachian Trail, Virginia Creeper Bike Trail, Mt Rogers Recreation Area, Watauga Lake and much more are nearby as are grocery stores, gas and restaurants...so you can easily enjoy the great outdoors while having the daily conveniences close at hand. I highly recommend this property.
