Step into history! This historic home with updated modern convenience for your comfort, We have worked on this home for 2 years to save it. We total rehabbed this gem. On Merchant street-in the oldest town west of the Mississippi River.
Lewis and Clark stayed at this property.

I wish we had more reasons to visit St. Gen if, for no other reason, we would get to stay here. Ideal location, cozy, all of the amenities one could ask for, outstanding hosts.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Rivertown Retreat. Very clean and cozy with everything we needed. Great location close to lots of restaurants, easy walking. Our host, Jayne, made check in/out very easy. Great place for a couple looking to enjoy the Ste. Genevieve area.

Everything was perfect!!! The things that need to be updated are updated, and the things that don't, aren't! It was a lovely, historic place to stay. In our opinion, way better than a hotel. It was a chilly weekend and we were perfectly warm, check in was easy, and check out was even easier. Great location to everything in town. We have recommended this place to all our family and will stay again.

Amazing gem downtown

Absolutely loved the charm, tranquility and location of this home. Very quiet and serene locale although right in the heart of downtown. Already planning on coming back again.

The host was fantastic! She is very easy to communicate with! The house is in a great location to see the town. The bed was comfortable. The house itself was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch eating dinner. The house was clean and fun to stay in!

Beautiful Accommodations

The property is exceptionally charming with every amenity you could want. It's in the heart of downtown Ste. Genevieve, perfect for walking to all kinds of attractions. Also notable: we found the house to be a perfectly comfortable sanctuary, despite the sweltering heat outside.

Location, location, location! We had a wonderful stay at this charming historic home in the heart of the historic neighborhood in Ste. Genevieve. The house is beautifully decorated and well appointed—our host truly thought of everything. The bed was very comfortable, the home was spotless, and the back porch quickly became one of our favorite spots to relax.The neighborhood is friendly and welcoming, and the host was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. Overall, our stay was enjoyable from start to finish. We would absolutely recommend this place and would happily stay here again!

We had an absolutely fantastic time!! The home was wonderful, and the area felt truly magical!Just a quick note: during our stay, we did happen to see a mouse scurry across the floor. Sisters retreat

The Dufour House was the perfect house for us! As sisters, we wanted to stay together and the house had everything we needed and more. We spent time on the back porch talking and enjoyed walking to coffee shops and restaurants that were minutes away. We were intrigued by the history of the house and the community. So much nicer than staying at a traditional hotel.

220 Merchant St, Dufour House

My wife and I had a great stay in the Dufour House. The House was charming, comfortable and in the middle of everything. We parked the car and didn't move it for three days as we could walk to wineries, restaurants, museums, and historic sites. We found the hosts most helpful and available. We would recommend the Dufour House to anyone wanting to enjoy a quiet but active vacation in Ste Genevieve, Missouri
