Escape to Burton Lake Escape. Enjoy beautful lake and mountain views while sitting on our screened in porch sipping a cool ice tea or glass of wine. Build a romantic, roaring fire in the large stone fireplace while watching a movie on the big screen TV. Prepare large family dinners while the kids swim in the lake. Picnic on the dock, float in the cool clean water of Lake Burton or take slow, easy rides around the Lake in a pontoon boat rental which you can park right at your own private dock! Enjoy a game of ping pong, cornhole or roast marshmallows at the inviting lakeside firepit as the ducks float by. Whatever you choose to do, come, relax and enjoy your stay at Burton Lake Escape.

Our lake house offers the following:

* Spacious open floor plan. Large stone fireplace. Large common area for gathering.
* Only carpeting in home is on stairs for safety reasons!
* Huge screened porch with multiple dining areas, rockers, and swing.
* Wonderful views of lake and mountains. Towards the end of the cove. Low boat traffic.
* Kid friendly. Lot not too steep. Wade-in access to lake.
* Outdoor entertainment area with brand new sofa, chairs, cornhole, jumbo Jenna and pingpong table.
* 3 bedrooms/3 baths - Every bedroom has an amazing view of the lake!
* Master on main with king size bed (Serta luxury premium mattress and box spring) and spacious bathroom
* 1 downstairs bedroom with new luxury queen size log bed
* 1 downstairs bedroom with 2 sets of New log bunk beds that the kids will love! Queen on bottom, twin on top.
* Landing area with twin daybed w/ twin trundle which can convert to a King
* 2 full baths downstairs
* Free unlimited WiFi
* Use of 2 kayaks and a canoe included in rental fee
* Filtered water
* We do allow pets (Dogs only). There is a $100.00 fee per stay per dog. Please let us know if you have any pets when requesting rental.

This beautiful getaway was EXACTLY what we needed! Such a gorgeous, clean, welcoming home and the view was spectacular! Marti was wonderful—she was communicative and took care of everything. Our group ranged from age 11 to age 79 and we would all love to come back again in the future!

This was an excellent experience. The host was great and the house was set up amazingly. Everything you would need was there and marked it was so easy. The view was great. The cabin was very spacious and clean the gardens were a nice bonus. We will go again.

Great Stay!This was our second trip to Lake Burton and the Burton Lake Escape property. Our first trip was late winter and this time we wanted more time in and on the lake. We got it! The property is located in a wide cove that allows for great kayaking/ canoeing and swimming. We were able to rent a pontoon boat from The Boat Shop and it really enhanced our stay. The property is really well provisioned and the host great to work with. By the way it is dog friendly and our golden retriever Lizzie gave it all 5's. We will be back and Highly Recommend!

We could have not had a better experience. Everything was comfortable and organized. There is nothing the owners have not thought of to accommodate guests. This is a beautiful property.
Sunset on a very exciting day which included the engagement of our youngest, Robbie who grew up fishing and boating on beautiful Burton!

We just finished our second year staying at this incredible Lake Burton rental, and we can't recommend it enough! If you're looking for a fully appointed and extremely comfortable home, this is the place.The house is a true gem, with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies and appliances you could ask for, and the beds are incredibly comfortable and clean. Our favorite spot was the beautiful screened-in porch, perfect for lazy mornings and peaceful evenings. The owners have also created so many thoughtful little seating areas and magical nooks throughout the property.Water access is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the lake, and the owner is incredibly helpful and responsive. We hope to visit again next year!

Lake Burton Escape THE Perfect Getaway

Rarely in our travels have we found such a well stocked, well planned and executed vacation rental! The experience is built around a gigantic enclosed porch that offers a stunning view of Lake Burton's beauty! Beneath the porch, lies a well manicured lot offering hammocks, swings, fire pit and an easy walk down to your private dock and boathouse. The included canoe and kayaks are easily launched and open up easy access for getting on the water.Back at the house, the master bedroom opens onto the porch allowing the wonderful view 24/7. The downstairs mini master has it's own view and easy access to the outside activities. i.e. ping pong, grilling and corn hole.Perhaps the greatest surprise was the degree to which every subtle detail had been taken care of. For example, we had full DISH service offering Internet a full array of programming and music channels. As compared to the more common practice of giving you internet access and requiring you stream your own content. There was also a working landline with contact numbers for local hospital, vet clinic and emergency contacts.Suffice to say, we were very pleased with our long weekend stay and look forward to coming back in the near future....!P.S. Our golden retriever, Lizzie gave it 5 paws !

Are you looking to relax? See the sights? Enjoy nature? Be comfortable? If so, do I have the place for you! Lake Burton Escapes is a wonderful escape from the daily grind. Whether you want to drink coffee on the back porch as the sun rises or enjoy an adult beverage on the back porch as the sunsets, this cabin has it all. Spacious, cozy, warm, open, and absolutely inviting. Whether you want to play table tennis, go kayaking, play a game, read a book, or use very good internet, you have a wide choice of options at the cabin. You can get away from everything in only about 20 minutes, but still have access to good food in Clayton and also be close to adventures in Helen, Clayton, Hiawasee, and North Carolina. And to top it off, the hosts are attentive (checked on us when we arrived) and hospitable (everything we needed was at the cabin). I could not recommend Lake Burton Escapes more!

Beautiful lake escape

Burton Lake Escape is such a beautiful and peaceful home. Its location on the lake is perfect. The cove had very little boat traffic which made it perfect for kayaking and using the canoe. Our 9, 16, and 18 year old kids caught several different types of fish right off the dock. We loved all the outdoor games provided as well as a well stocked game cabinet inside. We had everything we needed right there at the house. There was no reason for us to leave but if we needed to, Clayton was a short 25 minute drive away. We had an amazing stay at this house and would love to visit again.

Nice Family Getaway

We had a lovely stay and hope to return! The house came with everything you needed. Our favorite part was the view from the large screen porch. We enjoyed coffee, meals, and happy hour from there daily. My only complaint would be that there is no trash service, so you have to take everything with you, but I understand that its hard to get trash service up there and the owner suggested a few close by spots to dispose of. Overall we had a fantastic stay with our family! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Memorable lakeside accommodations

Our expectations were exceeded by this exceptional lakeside property. Everything we could have imagined and we have big imaginations! Clean, comfortable, inviting, well appointed, spacious, are view words that come to mind. Lake Burton was a big hit with our San Diego family as well.

Family Vacation

This is our second stay at this lovely property. The easy access to the water is great for littles and seniors. Canoe and kayaks are provided and we enjoyed paddling around the lake. The screened in porch was an awesome place to gather for conversation and food. Kitchen is well stocked and the grill is charcoal, which I prefer. Marti was great at offering suggestions for activities and restaurants. We hope to return to Lake Burton Escape next year!

Wonderful Lake Views!

This rental provides wonderful lake views and sunsets on large screened porch with comfy rockers, gliders, and a swing! Nice views of the water from the dock too! The cabin was clean and comfortable and provided all our needs. Rooms were open and spacious with beautiful wide plank wood floors. Our hostess was friendly and accessible. Colorful autumn foliage everywhere! We hopefully will return! Great trip!! 🍁

Beautiful Location

This was our first stay at Lake Burton and this was an excellent choice! Marti the owner is very responsive to queries, the check in was easy and we loved the home. Easy access to the dock complete with kayaks and a canoe and Marti gave us details of hikes and local restaurants. Our dogs and family had a fun time!

Another stay at the relaxing, peaceful Burton Lake Escape

This was our second stay at the Burton Lake Escape house and we had another fabulous stay! We love the location (in between marinas and close to the Farmhouse Market and the recycling center), the screened in porch, the pet area is great for our golden, and the big TV is awesome for fun nights. Since our stay was at the end of the summer, the kitchen was well stocked with spices, coffee filters...thanks previous renters! I am thankful for the supply of dishwasher pods, clothes washer pods and trash bags. The house comes equipped with everything you need. We also enjoyed the kayak and spent most of our days on the dock and in the swing. It's a lovely setting. Will definitely come back and would recommend to everyone.

Relaxation

We had the most relaxing weekend we’ve had all summer. Great cottage with a lovely screened in porch to enjoy the gorgeous mountain and lake views. The cottage was supplied with everything we needed. We will definitely rent again!

Our family first started going to Lake Burton in the early 70s and rented a rustic cabin at Cherokee Landing camp. We loved it so much that we eventually bought our own property and have been enjoying the Lake ever since. We would spend our week days in Atlanta and weekends at Lake Burton. We have all grown up now and with that our lives have gotten busier with our children, their sports schedules, etc. So we unfortunately aren't able to get there as much as we would like so that's when we decided to share it with others! Let us share some of our southern hospitality with you and your family.

The original cabin that stood on this lot was purchased by my family in 1972. It was a 3 room rustic cabin with a great screened porch. It was tiny but we have so many great memories of our childhood vacations...water skiing, tubing, fishing, playing games, hunting for Indian pottery on the shoreline, etc. We lost the old cabin to a fire approximately 17 years ago, so we rebuilt it bigger to accommodate our growing families and have been making improvements and new memories ever since! It now has a master bedroom on the main floor and open kitchen, dining and living room areas as well as a screened porch running along the entire top floor overlooking the Lake. We love to go up and relax. It is so peaceful...away from the hussle and bussle of Atlanta traffic. Now it is time for you to build some wonderful memories for your own family. Rent today!
