The space
Welcome to our inviting short-term rental! Immerse yourself in a delightful guest experience that spans three levels, each carefully designed to enhance your stay. This is an incredibly unique legalized basement suite (featuring 9 ft ceilings on the lower levels) with a ground floor entrance from the rear of the property. Three levels provide 1850 sqft of space all to yourself along with a fenced yard and natural gas BBQ ready to grill!

Begin your journey on the main level, where a well-equipped kitchen awaits, brimming with amenities to cater to your cooking needs. The bright and spacious living room features a comfortable pull-out queen bed for two and a dining table accommodating up to eight guests. Two additional chairs in the kitchen provide the ideal spot to savour your morning coffee.

The main level also boasts a full bathroom with a rejuvenating shower and the added convenience of a washing machine and dryer for your use during your stay.

Descend the stairs to the second level, where three cozy bedrooms await, collectively accommodating six guests. A pack ‘n play crib is available for families with little ones.

The first bedroom on the left boasts a queen bed and a spacious closet, offering ample room for your belongings. The second bedroom also features a queen bed and a dedicated closet for convenient storage. The third bedroom is a versatile space with a bunk bed featuring a double and a twin bed, perfect for accommodating individuals or a group. A large full-length mirror enhances this room, providing an additional space for your group to prepare for the day.

On the second level, discover two generously sized closets. The first closet on the left is stocked with bedding for the pull-out couch on the main level. The second closet is stocked with a portable fan, iron, and ironing board for your comfort and convenience.

Take a few steps down to the third level, a spacious great room / living area that invites you to unwind with a full size combination ping pong & pool table, board games, TV, retro DVD collection, and Wii complete with your favourite games! This level also includes an office space, making it an ideal retreat for longer stays.

Guest access
- Parking on the street across from the house, beside the community mailbox.
- Access to the suite is at the back of the property, you will walk along the right side of the house and through the gate of the fence until you get to the second back deck with the hot tub (at the rear of the house). Contactless checkin / checkout via keypad.

Other things to note
Welcome to our special spot tucked away at the back of the house! The driveway is reserved for guests staying in the upper suite. You will walk along the right side of the house. Pass by the side deck, through the gate and you`ll reach the cozy back area. Only you and your party will have access to the downstairs three levels and backyard.

This lower suite has separate heating and ventilation and separate temperature controls.

At the back where you enter you`ll find a big deck just for you. It`s like your own secret hideaway. Use the private entrance and enter with a special code.

We are happy to provide a natural gas BBQ for your convenience. The BBQ is ready to grill any time of year!

The place was as described and the kids had a fantastic time with the hot tub and pool table. There was plenty to do and enough space for our family of 6. The hot tub could use a cleaning though, and the listing didn't mention there being another unit above that is occupied - there were a few mornings the residents upstairs were moving furniture and vacuuming at 5am!

Relaxing and quiet

We enjoyed our stay. It was very quiet, relaxing and private. We felt comfortable from the moment we walked in and it felt like a home away from home for our whole stay. The hosts were easy to contact and quick to answer any questions I had. We would definitely book this place again!

Great family location

We are from New England and came here for 4 nights between my 9 year old daughter’s hockey tournaments in Edmonton. It was a perfect location, close to downtown but quiet, and only an hour from Banff. The house is impeccably clean and the kids loved the game area. The owners made it so easy to find everything and left clear instructions. Would absolutely stay here again.

The property was not clearly listed as a front and rear duplex in the ad which only, when we recieved check information, learned that we could not park in the driveway and had to park on the street which was away from the house. This makes it not a true VRBO in my opinion. Additionally the pictures included appeared to make it look larger than what it was (ad included multiple pictures of the same rooms). The cleanliness of the space when we arrived was questionable, the carpets appeared to not be vacuumed and I found some wrappers and papers from previous guests. Positives were that the hot tub was clean and enjoyable and that there was a seperate space for kids to enjoy.

Thanks so much for your frank and detailed review! We always take this kind of feedback very seriously and try to make adjustments to address legitimate concerns or suggestions. For the record, I will address the each of issues that you enumerated in your review: 1. The description indicated three levels, progressively descending to the next level, and an entrance from the back; 2. The description clearly states that the garage and driveway is reserved for guests staying in the upper suite and that parking for the lower suite is on the street; 3. Multiple pictures of the same room are provided to show all features present in the suite (per VRBO), the suite is approximately 1850 sq. ft (medium sized house in Canada; 4. As for cleanliness, each suite is thoroughly cleaned after each guest stay by reliable cleaners, on this occasion, a new employee had just started and it is conceivable that she may have missed something. We apologize for this and will make sure to do random spot checks to ensure quality and consistency. 5. Our house rules clearly state that no smoking of anything is allowed on the premises as this is a family-oriented VRBO space, from the paraphernalia that you forgot at the suite, it appears that is likely that you broke those rules. As stated in the description, breaking this rule triggers a $1000 fine. Please let us how you would like to pay this fine.

The listing for this property did not mention that the unit is located in a BASEMENT. While the space itself was clean and accessible, our stay was significantly impacted by issues that were not disclosed.On the first night, the renters in the upper unit arrived around 10:00 p.m. Their children were running and hitting objects on the floor, and they were also doing laundry and running the dishwasher. All of the noise transferred directly into the basement unit, and we were unable to sleep that night.In addition, the garage door was damaged, and the upstairs renters continued to attempt to fix it by opening and closing it constantly. The sound of the garage door opening and closing was extremely loud and carried through the walls.Another major issue is that the thermostat is not located in the basement unit. The temperature is controlled from the upper unit, and it was extremely hot at night, with no way for us to adjust it.These conditions made the stay uncomfortable, and none of these issues were disclosed in the listing.

Hi Maritza, The garage door was damaged. We had called in someone to repair it but unfortunately, they arrived quite late after other calls and after you had arrived back at the property. I was there supervising the work. I'm sorry that this disturbed you. The lower unit has its own thermostat. It is set to a schedule to be cooler at night. It is also wifi controlled so all you had to do was to message me to adjust it to your particular needs. BTW, by this time the guests in the upper suite had left. Mark

Great house rude manager

First of all, the location is in a safe and good neighbourhood. The house was as described. Make sure you double check the settings when you arrive because the fridge was at 5 (the coldest) and the gas for the bbq was already on as some examples. And don’t ask any questions while you’re there because you might get very unprofessional answers. I just asked simple questions like how things worked because there were different from home and the owner called me useless and hopeless. He was very rude and unprofessional making you feel very stupid and not wanting to come back and stay there again. I know that I will never stay there again!!!
