Discover this tremendous brand new 4-bedroom property in Sutton. This charming space is the perfect getaway for guests seeking a cozy and relaxing vacation. With 4 queen beds, everyone will have a comfortable place to rest after a day of exploring. The property offers all the necessary amenities, including AC/heat, iron & board, hair dryers in both bathrooms, WIFI, and a new full size washer & dryer in the laundry room. You have a custom floor to ceiling fireplace with an 86" Smart LG TV mounted on the wall above the fireplace.. The 2 half baths and 2 shower rooms means everyone can get ready all at once. The half baths are equipped with hair dryers.

The property is accessible to everyone as there is an open area set aside for all guests that is handicap accessible for multiple vehicles. The front door is a double door, which is over 68 inches wide and there are no stairs required to enter or navigate the property.

There are board games, card games, video and game system available for all to enjoy for children of all ages.

Immerse yourself in the serene surroundings and unwind in this awesome property. Whether your here for all of the outdoor activities West Virginia has to offer; like site seeing, whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, hunting or taking backroads motorcycle rides. You have so much space inside and out to enjoy nature while exploring the forests where you will see deer, rabbits, squirrels and wild turkeys.

This property is unique as it is right next to town, but when you navigate the driveway it will feel like you are entering your very own piece of heaven. Guests are impressed by the remoteness that you feel while enjoying your time at "The Murphy".

"The Murphy" is a great place to start your adventure when looking for Big Foot, the Flatwoods Monster or Mothman! The West Virginia Bigfoot Museum and Flatwoods Monster Museum are both just 1 mile away from the property on Main Street in downtown Sutton. Make sure you take time to find and take pictures on all of the Flatwood Monster Museum chairs strategically located through Sutton and Flatwoods. The pictures will make for great keepsakes.

It’s time to book your Spring and Summer vacations. “The Murphy” is just the place to see all of what Wild and Wonderful West Virginia has to offer. Just imagine as it cools off during the evening as you sit out around the firepit. It will be a great time of year to do smores!

Very nice property, good for hiking. Location is centrally located to attractions. The host was there when needed. We had a great time. We’ve been staying at rentals for 25 years and this was one of the best.

It was fantastic. The layout was sensible, clean and not cluttered. Brian and EJ are absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend The Murphy enough.

What a great property and amazing host. Our check in details were provided well before our check in time which makes everything work smoothly. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals and also a grill outside with a side burner. We ate in the whole trip. There was a great fire pit outside and patio furniture to enjoy the outdoors. There was also a Huge tv for our movie night. The deer were everywhere and so enjoyable to watch. Brian , thank you for hosting us and making our trip so special! It’s a great place to get away from the city and unplug! We will be back !

Had an amazing Stay with my little family! Brian was a great host !! We would definitely come back. We got to see a cute little deer family I got to sneak a quick photo of, and had some cozy little campfire!!( the color of the flame’s is from one of those color packets you can throw in the fire) our daughter loved it!!

Wow, this is the ultimate country getaway!

My wife our two kids, their partners and 1 year old grandson went on this adventure. Every part of the reservation to arrival and stay went amazingly well. Brian, the owner communicated throughout the entire process. He made sure we had everything we needed prior to our arrival. He had a pack and play for our grandson and plenty of firewood for the firepit out back. The accommodations are like brand new with comfortable beds and plenty of room for all of us. The tv is enormous and even though it wasnt used a lot it was amazing to watch. The property is absolutely amazing with lots of wildlife to see each day. It is within 5 minutes of town and the dam which we loved as we fished and ate in town several times. There is a new grill and the seating area out back has fans and plenty of shade. I cant say enough about the owners concern during our stay, he was very conscientious about all the details. We were sad to leave but made many memories here and plan to go back next summer! Dont hesitate to book this property you will have no regrets!

Retreat setting near the lake

The house and property are excellent. Getting up the main road and the driveway with a boat is tricky - narrow and lots of turns but once at the property it is great. The decor is up to date and relevant with the seasonal themes for the bedrooms. Great open concept for the living area. Just a couple very small areas to clean a little better but I am sure the owner will take care of them as he is on site and very connected to make this a top notch experience for guests. Very close to Lake Sutton which was the purpose of our trip so overall an excellent experience.

First, Brian was a great host and had the place set up perfectly. Everything you need like kitchen stuff, grills, fire wood, towels,etc. was there without the need to ask. He was flexible and stayed in immediate contact. The place is definitely out on its own but within 5 minutes you could be in Sutton to get essentials. Restaurants and groceries were less than 15 minutes away. For those that don’t know the area, it is just off I79 so very convenient to get in and out of. Enjoyed my week there - thanks Bryan.

Hidden Gem!

After traversing the 1/2 mile twisty driveway you come to the top and there is a hidden gem of a get away! Quiet, beautiful view. Wonderful finished bottom half of the house with everything we needed for our stay.We sat around the fire pit after dinner and enjoyed the quiet while catching up with the family.Love the fact the owner is on site and was very welcoming. Thank you for letting us enjoy our get together and having options of what sites to see!

Excellent stay

The host, Brian, is really sweet and takes good care of his guests. The views were stunning and the rental is setup very well for ease of use and comfort. It was me and my daughter staying, so two females with no issues. I will be booking again hopefully sooner than the next archery tournament.

Very nice shared property in the middle of nowhere.

I traveled with my family (husband, two kids and the grand parents). Overall the property was very nice and clean. 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms so lots of space. Bathrooms are different. 4 rooms side by side, toilets in a separate room as the showers. There are pros and cons to this place. -First off it is a shared property. Very nice built basement (owner on the top part). That is not a problem, but it is not listed that way in the description and definitely should be. It appears as your renting a whole house but your not. It came as quite a surprise after booking. -Secondly the property needs more gravel. Unfortunately it rained a lot during our stay and the driveway and walkway to the house is all clay. It made for a huge mess and ruined shoes. -Beautiful property, but you should probably have AWD/4WD if renting to get up the driveway -No deadbolt on the inside of the house. Unable to lock the door. -House is very "smart" so if your older and not computer savy you won't be able to work the tv. Love the TV! -Kitchen seating for 8, but a living room/couch seating of 3. We ended up having to use our camp chairs around the couch so we could all sit together to watch tv. The owner Brian is very nice and communicates well and promptly. Very easy going. Deer feeder out back so you see lots of wildlife. It's definitely set up as a hunting camp. Beautiful place with a lot of potential.

Beautiful basement apartment

This is a beautiful basement apartment up a steep long driveway . Not far from a small town with stores and restaurants if needed . Very gracious host . Beds very comfortable. Excellent linens on the beds . Plenty of clean towels . Deer in the yard when we got here .Owner Brian was welcoming , and helpful . Very peaceful location . Feels like you’re on top of your own mountain.

Beautiful wooded setting away from it all

We were a family of 6 adults for the long weekend and loved having the 4 queen beds for a great night sleep. The TV is surreal. The pots and pans were a chefs dream as no flaking Teflon and no sticking food. Loved the full sized washer dryer with our outdoor activities of hiking, boating at Sutton lake (don’t bother fishing there) and fishing on the Elk river where the bass were plentiful. We will be back

I am an on premise host at “The Murphy”. The property is 175 acres; which is adjacent to the Elk River Wildlife Management Area to the east and the Elk River to the south. I originally bought the property to hunt on with my kids. I planned on building a small hunting lodge and it has turned into. 7 BR, 4 1/2 Bath house and house. There is plenty of wildlife to see and hear every day while staying at “The Murphy”. If you love the outdoors, than this is the place for you. I am enjoying taking care of the property as there is always something to do from landscape work, to maintaining the old logging roads to allow for easy access. This property is a nature lovers dream come true. Lots of forested areas to investigate and it is a great way to get your steps in each day.

I spent a lot of time researching properties and I was looking for something that was remote, but had good cell coverage and high speed internet. It took a while, but I did finally find the right place. The Town of Sutton is centrally located in the middle of West Virginia. Even though this is a rural area, you are only about an hour or two away from most activities. Whether is is hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, hunting or backwoods motorcycle riding. Sutton is the place to start your adventure each day, So check out "The Murphy"!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The uniqueness of this property is that while I am right next to the town of Sutton, WV. Once your on the property you feel like your out in the wilderness. It is just so peaceful out here. Once you spend a little time here you will feel the same way. West Virginia is all about wild and wonderful, well let it all start here!

The other thing that makes this property unique is that the towns of Sutton/Flatwoods are geographically located in the center of West Virginia, making this a prime spot to explore anywhere within the state. You are just a few hours at the most away from so much history, exploration, whitewater rafting, hunting, fishing, skiing and so much more.

There are so many back roads that lead to the most charming of small towns throughout Appalachia! There are so many old coal mining towns that once flourished during the coal mining boom of the early 20th century. It's all here for you to see, you just have to get out and start exploring.

When you mention small old towns, what comes to mind, but antiquing. There many small antique shops for you to peruse!

A great suggestion is to visit the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV. They have day tours and nightly ghost tours. Do you think you have what it takes to spend the night in a lunatic asylum???
