The place is clean and like others said not updated. This didn’t bother us, location was more important.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location and the view were great! The unit itself is very dated, has some noticeable damage and needs some work - for example the upstairs bathroom door was unusually squeaky and needs some work and the front door handle must have been broken off at some point and was put on backwards - very poorly. The vents were all corroded. Otherwise, it was clean and had clean sheets/towels. It would have been nice to have a few "starter" amenities like coffee or bottled water for at least 1 day!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was perfect. We wanted a place on the beach, and it definitely lived up to our expectations. The Condo itself was a bit dated and the amenities were somewhat sparse. For example, there was only one spoon. They had lots of serving spoons, but no regular spoons. Another issue was we had a couple rainy days and we wanted to watch some TV. The condo had ROKU and no directions on how to use that. It was very limited and 3 of the several remotes didn't have batteries. The folks downstairs smoked so we got that every time we went out on the balcony (I know that has nothing to do with the condo..but it still affected our stay). I don't normally complain but the cost of the condo warranted me saying something.

Great View, easy beach access, responsive rental co., NEEDS RENO

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Island Realty was very easy to work with and very responsive to all of our needs., we used the chair rental service from them, which. Was very easy, be prepared however the chairs are very close together, you hear every conversation. Other reviews of this condo are dead on. I the cleaning crew makes it as clean as they can, but you can’t clean the aged everything in this condo. The price is actually a bit high for the condition. The beautiful view is not very enjoyable, a board in the center of the deck is rotted out, there is no shade that a simple umbrella would solve, the deck furniture was broken folding chairs, and a bar type table with bar stools that were horribly uncomfortable and flimsy. While there the deck door wouldn’t open, the downstairs bathroom sink was spraying water everywhere, knobs fell off dresser and the dishwasher would not start, only a spontaneous start. The rental company came and repaired what they could quickly. The upstairs bedroom (not a king which it could easily hold) has a huge section of drywall is opening up along the seam which looks like damage from some sort of a water leak. This is not a rental company issue as much as it is a owner company that needs to do a full Reno. The cabinets were painted, but are falling apart. The stove is an old coil type and the front right burner didn’t work at all and was not attached. I reconnected it and it still didn’t work. Very limited flatware and no plastic containers. There is a cutting board that was covering a large burn and missing Formica counter top. If you want a great view and easy beach access you will get that. But the negatives are tough. Be ready to look past it, we did, but will never rent this place again. I found other rentals just like this one for the same price, with updates galore. It is very dated, really seems like it is all the same materials since it was built.

Right on the beach, no roads to cross to get to the beach. Pool right next to the condo. There is not an elevator so you need to be able to go up stairs. We really enjoyed our vacation, this is not an updated condo, but it was clean and comfortable.

Great Place For Us

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great place to stay for my family. It was clean and had more than enough space for the four of us. The view from the living room was great as well. Beach access was easy and you cannot beat its proximity to Charleston. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for the week and all the appliances we needed were there. It is a no frills place and was perfect for a nice beach getaway. Island reality made it so easy to check in and enjoy our stay.

NOT a good choice.

This was by far the worst condo we've ever stayed in. Before specifics, I want to say that Island Realty (prop. mgt. company) really stepped up and responded to us in a positive manner. They were unaware of these problems and were very responsive to our emails/texts. This unit is in poor condition. It desperately needs upgrades. The location is BEAUTIFUL, so it's sad that it's not up to par. Problems included dead bugs on the wall upon arrival, ceiling fixture is a lightbulb from the ceiling, burnt and damaged counter top, furniture is worn out...couches, mattresses, mold around shower, old appliances, and TV barely worked. Roku television kept losing signal and often we went without it. Poor lighting in unit. This was our first visit to the area. We will definitely be looking for a different place if we come back, but are very thankful for Island Realty....Hopeful that they can initiate changes and upgrades.

Great Stay!

The view from this specific unit and the location of the complex were both wonderful. The condo was quiet and large. We had so much more space than we would have had in comparably priced alternatives. Yes, the condo is dated, but everything was clean and we were comfortable. We liked the beds and linens too! After reading other reviews, we overpacked on household items like extra towels, toilet paper, etc. - none of that was needed! You will need to bring beach towels. We felt that this condo was a great value and were thankful for all that it offered on our budget.

One thing that concerned me was the fact that the windows in the upstairs do not open. The crank mechanism may have gone bad or the gears stripped out. I viewed this as a major fire hazard! If there was a fire downstairs, there is no way to get out.

Beware of the online pictures! The unit was a disappointment. It needs to be gutted. The flooring was in terrible shape, old worn out carpet in the bedrooms and the tile in the other rooms were mismatched and dated. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were old and had been painted over without primer. Not enough furniture and what furniture that was there was poorly situated. The TV was setting on the dresser in the one bedroom in front of the mirror. I had to use kitchen chairs as nightstands. The excuse was a new owner has taken over and is going to renovate. Shouldn’t the new owner renovate first before putting in the rental system? We cut the trip short. The unit was uncomfortable for a vacation to say the least.

Unit was adequate, yet long overdue for upgrades. Peeling and dirty paint, peeling popcorn ceilings, cabinets that must have been original, and mattresses that needed to be replaced. We've stayed at units all over the resort, and while this was a good location, the unit made it less that enjoyable.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed in Charleston several times and LOVE it. I chose this place for my family because of location and convenience, and it was perfect for those reasons. However, inside the condo it was very dirty, odd odors, cockroaches under the sink, stained bedding and counter tops, and needs many repairs of dripping ceilings, outdated decor, old furniture, and overall needs a remodel. I have never had this experience, and although location was great, the comfort inside was very poor and disappointing.

GREAT view and location!

This condo is right on the beach - you can’t get any closer to the water and we didn’t mind the 30 minute drive to Charleston! The unit was clean and smelled fresh when we arrived. Other reviews were right that it could use some paint and updates but for the great price and location, we didn’t mind. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances. TVs were great - we appreciated Roku being available. Everything was in working order and we had a great time! Island Realty has also been WONDERFUL to work with. This was our first time renting a condo and they were very professional and easy to work with - and we’re already planning our next trip with them!

Needs Major Updates

We enjoyed or stay at the IOP. I give the property 5 star on location and cleanliness. Honestly, I am not a picky person but the unit needs some major upgrades. A little paint, a new kitchen table, a new light fixture in the dining area, new boards on the deck are just some of the things I noticed. I would definitely stay here again though.

Pleasant stay

Girls weekend getaway

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is great but the condo did not have basic kitchen supplies such as spices/salt/pepper and coffee filters. It was clean but lots of water stains on the ceiling and some evidence of previous leaking on the walls. The windows in the upstairs bedroom were really hard to open. The place just seemed like it needed some updating and TLC. Otherwise it had plenty of linens and starter supplies and the people were very friendly and helpful!
