Lakefront Island View Escape in Southern NH

About this space
Enjoy Island View Escape on beautiful Big Island Pond. You will have exclusive use of the main house and share outdoor space with us and our dog.
Swim, kayak, fish for bass, perch and more. Join us on our pontoon boat for a lake cruise.
Use the gas grill and firepit by the lake or sit on the deck watching sunsets and listening to loons.
Near Rt 93, it's an easy commute to the NH seacoast, the White Mountains and Boston.
Restaurants, golf, tax-free shopping and walking trails are all close by.
The space
The main floor of the house is yours exclusively. Walk in to a beautiful view of the lake through glass sliding doors to the upstairs deck with a table and chairs. The living room is connected to the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, dishes, glassware, coffee maker (drip/Keurig combo) and everything you need for cooking meals or making snacks.
Two comfy bedrooms. One with a queen bed, closet and dresser, the other has a bed that can be made up as two XL twins or a split king. There are two dressers in this room.
The 3-piece bathroom has a shower. Towels are provided and travel-size shampoo and conditioner.
There is also a washer and dryer. We ask that you limit laundry to 2 loads per week. (We have a septic system verses town water/sewer.)
Three kayaks are available for your use along with three adult-size life vests.
Parking is available in the driveway for a maximum of two vehicles. There is no on-street parking.
Guest access
Prior to check-in, you will be given the code to the keyless entry lock. You will be the only ones using that door.
In addition to the space described above for your exclusive use, we will share the outdoor space. Outside steps by the side of the house go down to the lake. Use the propane grill and eat at the umbrella table. Closer to the water is a covered pergola with seating and a firepit.
There are steps into the water for swimming; a dock off which to jump in the water or cast a line.
We enjoy going out on our pontoon boat most days, weather permitting, especially for sunset cruises. Please join us for a tour of the lake and we'll share the history and fun stories about this very special place.
Other things to note
Maximum of 4 guests allowed, and a minimum age of 30 for the primary renter.
Lakefront neighbors are very close so we must ask for quiet time from 10pm to 8am. No parties are allowed, but if you'd like to have a few people over for a cookout and swim, talk with us about that ahead of time.
This property is not suitable for people with mobility issues or small children. The steps down to the lake would be difficult.
Older children, couples, fishermen, will find it the perfect spot to relax. It's a great place to watch loons, great blue herons, hawks, bald eagles and more.
There are several good restaurants within 6 miles including the LaBelle Winery, On The Corner Grille and Jamison's.
If you like to golf, there's a par 3 9-hole course at the end of the road. The world-renowned Atkinson Country Club is less than 5 miles away. There are 54 other golf courses within 20 miles of Derry.
Want tax-free shopping? It's all over, but the new Tuscan Village in nearby Salem is pretty amazing with restaurants and shops. Visit the Tuscan Village website for all the cool goings on.
Like to walk rail trails? NH has quite a lot of finished trails with access points close by for easy walking or biking.
If you want to explore farther afield, being close to Rts 93 and 495, we're about 50 minutes from Boston, 45 minutes to the beaches in Hampton, NH, and the quaint historic seaport of Portsmouth. If you'd like to see the beautiful White Mountains, it's a little more than an hour to Franconia Notch.
