Fully furnished with all amenities. We will send you a complimentary 28 page visitor's guide to show you all the great things to do in the area while you visit central Texas. Old Settlers Music Festival in April just 12 miles away. Located 30 miles south of Austin (ESPN X-GAMES, SXSW Musical Festival, ACL Fest,, Old Pecan Street Festival & University of Texas Longhorn football) and 15 miles south east of San Marcos (Premium and Tanger Outlet Malls, Aquarena Springs, Texas State University, San Marcos River canoeing, rafting, and tubing), it is centrally located near Lockhart, (over 50 movies filmed here in the Barbecue Capitol of Texas featuring the 'Most Photographed Courthouse' in Texas) so you can have that country estate feel, but still hop into the big city for entertainment or splash into the San Marcos River for a cool float down the river (Rent tubes at Don's Fish Camp or Texas State Tubes). One of the largest outlet malls in the country is just a 20 minute drive away. Beautiful location, easy to find our way around. The geese, ducks, and occasional chicken were so fun to watch! We very much enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable to come back to after a day at the track. If we are ever back in the Austin area, we’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

Country with convenience

We had a great time relaxing in the country. We played , fished, relaxed, and were close enough to town to go out to eat each night. Would definitely stay again.

Great family stay!!!

We were in town for a LL baseball tournament and our family is too big for a hotel. We have 3 boys and a dog. The little yard was great for our dog and morning coffee and the boys were fishing the entire time, unless we were playing basball. It had everything we needed and plenty of space to roam. I can't say enough positives about this place. All the boys on the team were alittle jealous lol.

Beautiful inviting home with all the amenities

Perfect getaway for our family! Close enough to lots of attractions but far enough away from the hustle and bustle! My entire family is begging to return soon. Definitely one of our top favorite getaway spots!

Perfect getaway!

We had a wonderful time! Pictures don’t do it justice. Enjoyed watching the geese, fishing in the creek, sitting on the porch and exploring Lockhart. It’s a neat town with amazing BBQ!

Perfect Weekend

I looked all over for a place to stay that allowed medium size dogs, and took a chance with reserving Terri and Dana's place in Lockhart, TX. I made a great choice as this was the most relaxing stay I have experienced in a long time! My family felt at home from the time we walked through the door. I will definitely stay there again.

Great weekend

Beautiful house in a perfect location: in the country yet 5 minutes from town! The owners were awesome when we had a problem! We did miss the peacocks this year!

Fun times in Lockhart

We had a great time on our vacation. I especially enjoyed the stocked fishing pond! It was HOT, but tubing on the San Marcos River really cooled us off. I would definately return to this spot in the future, but in a cooler month.

Great relaxing weekend getaway

Brought our two young boys (4 and 6) for a weekend away from the city, and had such a wonderful time. Boys played in the river, fished in the pond, chased frogs while my husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. Loved the farm fresh eggs and local blacks barbeque was fantastic!

Total Eclipse home base

We selected this property to have an escape from the crowd’s flocking to view the eclipse. The guest house was the perfect size for us and our golden retriever, and even room for our two relatives to stop by in their RV. Our dog enjoyed exploring the large yard. Very comfortable and a great getaway.

Texas visit

My wife and I stayed a week while visiting her daughter. The home was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, king bed very comfortable. Dana and Terri were very pleasant and helpful. We would recommend their home highly and definitely repeat if we are ever in the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Thanksgiving Blessings

We had such a relaxing time at this beautiful property that was close and convenient to visit family. We sat on the different porches in the morning and enjoyed our coffee. The kitchen had everything I needed to make my Thanksgiving dishes. Everything was perfect!

Lockhart visit

This was a perfect location for our trip to visit family in Lockhart. The property is charming and the house was clean and comfortable. The master bed was a little too soft for me, but that’s only a personal opinion. It’s a beautiful setting, and all the arrival and departure procedures were very easy. The only drawback was that we were barely there!

Peaceful setting

Lovely place with privacy. We enjoyed the quiet country setting with all the waterfowl, peacocks, and deer. It was convenient to San Marcos. During our stay we visited San Antonio, San Marcos, and Wimberley; all were within an hour or less. We spent mornings on the porch drinking coffee and enjoying the peacock parade and occasional deer.

Right out side of Lockhart

Gated, which was nice. Outside of Lockhart but quick to get where your going. 130 toll road is right there as well. Inside was very nice. Anything that you need is right there. Cozy and cool for hot days. Glad I found it. When I come back, I will try to get this again. Hopefully for a couple weeks.

The guest house was truly a retreat for us. The information about the house was accurate, excellent

Our hosts, Dana and Terri were welcoming and very helpful. The home is a wonderful place to learn about the area. There are DVD's of movies filmed in the Lockhart area that we thoroughly enjoyed. The home is very well maintained with every amenity a guest could expect as shown on the listing. We enjoyed the Lockhart area and were able to visit San Marcos and San Antonio. We booked it once again for December, January and added February for next year. 5 star rating for us!

Relaxing Country Home Close to BBQ Capital

Perfect weekend getaway for two adults and two Shih-tzus! Very comfortable. KING SIZED BED (a must in a rental-if you only have a Queen, you cut out a lot of potential guests). Nice size, good amenities, neat and comfortable decor, IMMACULATELY CLEAN, very private and pretty grounds. Close to great BBQ in Lockhart. Close to fun in San Marcos, New Braunfels, Austin and Central Texas. Peacocks and water fowl a neat plus! Dana and Terri were nice to deal with.

Memorable experience for our family!

My wife and I stayed at the property with our two young kids and our dog. We had a spectacular time and would recommend this to anyone. Dana and Terri go out of their way to be hospitable, from providing a tour of the property to including amenities in the house such as coffee. Dana knew we were bringing our young kids, so he had "Dora the Explorer" on the TV when we arrived. The property has a creek and pond and hammock and tons of animals to look at, including geese, horses, and peacocks. It was truly a fun experience - we would definitely go back!
