We couldn’t find the property so were berated by the host over the phone when we finally broke down and called for help. Eventually I unloaded the car while my (21 year old) daughter talked to him again, he chided “how come you the only person that has problems”-she was frustrated enough to ask if he ever thought of “cleaning to toilet in the last 4 years?” It is not “new” nor a “1 bedroom” as there is not a wall separating the bed area. It’s a studio set up. Very dirty-soiled kitchen wash clothes next to and under the sink, stalactites of dust and cobwebs on the fan, hair on the pillowcases (pet hair?), only 3/6 pillows even had pillowcases, one light bulb missing in the bed area fixture, awful rust stains on the toilet, other things we found later. All things that a thorough cleaning would take care of. Oh, not to mention the exposed outlet above the kitchen sink-that and a second outlet were not GFI. He drove by the place the next day and we didn’t bother to speak to him again, just saying everything was ok because I didn’t feel like being scolded or argued with. Plus I knew I couldn’t get a refund when we only booked the night before. I took lots of pics when we moved in showing all this) plus video when we moved out (we didn’t leave it a mess or trash it). After reading poor reviews written by others I presume this will turn into the owner smearing another customer who gave a bad review. Probably have stayed at 15 VRBO and never had an issue.
