The Grannie Sallie boasts 3 bedrooms including 4 twin beds and 1 bunk bed providing comfortable accommodations for up to 6 guests. Come and enjoy a peaceful stay on the water with docking availability for two boats and convenient dock A location making it possible for our guests to drive up to the front door and dock their boats out the back.
The bathroom comes fully furnished with towels, washcloths, shampoo, body wash and hair dryer for added convenience.
Well-appointed layout with living room with two sofas, and two lazy boys and fully operational kitchen.
Coffee maker with coffee provided along with the makings for breakfast pancakes.
Rear porch has fish cleaning station, 350# capacity ice machine /produces up to 500#ā€™s of ice per day and a commercial grade gas grill.
Houseboat has high speed internet and wifi for streaming .
We'll be available to answer any questions while you stay at our place.

This is now my favorite houseboat to stay in Venice Marina. Very clean houseboat and friendly hosts. Had a few questions during stay and was answered almost immediately. The only item that could improve my experience with this rental would be a small deep freezer to store your daily catch. The marina does store fish for a small daily fee so definitely not a deal breaker on renting this nice place.

Owners were very attentive and easy communication. They made sure we had everything that we needed and even thought ahead looking at the weather pattern and bringing in extra heaters because it was about to get very cold. Great experience would stay there again. Great owners.

We cooked the majority of our meals in house. There was more than adequate pots and pans to cover our needs. The convenience of back door guide pickup and a large ice machine is a real benefit. Being able to unload your groceries and gear at the front door is a huge plus. This was our fourth four day stay and we plan to return soon!!

Great stay at Grannie Sallie. Hosts were extremely helpful and proactive with information ahead of our stay. Location was phenomenal as we were able to walk to the marina and local fishing guides were able to pick us up at the dock. Houseboat was clean and had everything you needed and more, including an industrial ice machine. You canā€™t go wrong with a stay at Grannie Sallie.

Everything was just like always. Spot on! A nice welcome happy, and AC cool and comfortable. We cooked all our meals in house and had plenty of pots, pans, etc. to do the job. Very convenient location and the large ice machine is a godā€™s send for us fishermen.

The Grannie Sallie Fish Camp was a great place to stay for a group of avid outdoorsmen. Daniel was a great host, he responds very quickly and helped put us in touch with some local knowledge of the Venice area and put us on some great fish. The house was very accommodating even being upper 30s at night, Daniel took the time to set up space heaters for my group and we stayed plenty warm. The fridge and pantry had everything you could have needed to cook all of your own meals (just buy your meat and veggies basically). We towed our own boat from Texas, got it launched at the marina for 10 and docked at the house. The fish cleaning station and ice maker were a great add on. We are already looking at booking another stay in the near future!

Venice Houseboat Living

The houseboat is very well maintained and had a very comfortable atmosphere. It also had all the necessary amenities. The host went above and beyond to assure that all of our needs were met. I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in getting the true Venice experience.

My second four night stay this summer. Great location. Parking right in front of the lodging. Restaurant and fuel dock right next to the house boat. Charter captains will come and pick you up at your back door. Great ice machine to keep your catch cold. A stress free experience. Youā€™ll enjoy the ā€œGrannie Sallieā€ !!

Guys Tuna Trip

The Grannie Sallie was perfect for our 2025 Tuna Trip, just a short walk from the restaurant and cleaning tables. The place was very clean and stocked up with all of the necessary pots, pans, utensils, etc. It slept 6 men comfortably and had a great porch with a large grill and fish cleaning table. We will be coming back.

The Rhodes are awesome host. Kept in touch with me through text about satisfaction of unit, warned me about possible tropical storm coming into area. Their unit is very well equiped, with some outstanding amenities. Great job Daniel and Natalie.

Top shelf in every way!! The air conditioners had been turned on ahead of time and the place was very cool. Our charter captain could pull right up to the back dock and we could just step out of the door and onto the boat. Large ice machine on the deck was a really nice benefit. Didnā€™t do any cooking but the kitchen was full of everything that was needed. Canā€™t wait to go back!!

Born and Raised in Plaquemines Parish Iā€™ve fished Venice for over 40 years.
My family has fished and hunted the Delta for more than 75 years and has always maintained a camp or some type of residence in the Venice area.
Penny Rhodes ( look at Venice marine charts) was my Dad. His decades of commercial fishing, operating our charter service and pursuing his passion for fishing the inland and offshore waters of Venice was handed down to me at a young age.

The Grannie Sallie fish camp has been moored in Venice Marina for decades.
In 2023 my wife and I purchased the Grannie Sallie and began an out of water restoration of her hull.
She was placed on dry dock, sand blasted and painted, surveyed by a marine surveyor and then Returned to her slip in Venice Marina.
From there her exterior was refreshed, some deferred maintenance addressed, and her interior was painted.
We added amenities like a new washer and dryer, new bedding, linen, terry, installed a fish cleaning station, exterior furniture and made her ready for the rental market.


The Grannie Sallie Fish Camp is a comfortable, clean and convenient, well appointed houseboat rental in Venice Marina . She is very spacious boasting nearly 1000 sq feet of interior space for up to 6 guests.
Her land side location is a guest favorite. Her dock out back can accommodate any trailerable vessel
(up to two).
The Grannie Sallie Fish camp is located in Venice Marina. She is moored land side on dock A, slip #7., with dockside parking right outside your front door. The Grannie Sallie is a few steps from rodeo central Pavillon, CrawGators restaurant and bar, and the Venice Marina store. All the action is just steps from your front door.
If you are chartering a guide they can pick you up and drop you off at your back door!

Check in is 4:00 PM and check out is at 11:00 AM. We can make arrangements to accommodate early arrivals or late departures depending on business levels.
