Get away to the Maine outdoors at this house with a view in Caratunk, Maine! Located on a quiet road right off of Route 201 and one tenth mile from the Caratunk Boat Launch on Wyman Lake. The property offers privacy for your Maine getaway. Includes on-site dog kennel and space to store canoes and kayaks during your stay, allowing you to bring your pets with you on your Maine vacation. Well-behaved pets are welcome inside the house. Use of the kennel is optional, and at the pet ownerā€™s discretion.

Property includes free Wifi access. TV streaming services have guest accounts for indoor entertainment. While the main room includes a wood stove, it is not intended for guest use. The house thermostats do keep the place cozy for winter guests.

One vehicle can be stored in front of the house. Additional vehicles park on the opposite side of the road. 2 bedrooms located on the first floor. Towels and linens provided. Washer / Dryer located in the basement. We hope you can enjoy your visit here as much as we do.

Local activates include hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing/kayaking, rafting/tubing, swimming. hiking, mountain biking, ATV, Snowmobiling, leaf peeping, birding, REST & RELAXATION

This is a wonderful cabin in a peaceful town. It was restful and very inviting. Very pet friendly and accommodating. Had the best week! Lots of great hiking and exploring.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Plenty of room for our family (us parents and our three teenagers) to spread out, and we had everything we needed to make our own meals in the kitchen. Loved sitting on the porch in the morning with our tea and watching the world wake up! Excellent home base for white water rafting in the area - would stay here again.

Girls weekend

A nice option to stay for rafting

It was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights and it was a good value. The check in instructions were confusing but we figured it out eventually. The kitchen (particularly the fridge) was not cleaned before our stay, so I had to spend the first 10-15 minutes cleaning, which was annoying. There were a few weird things-- I had to empty the dryer in order to do a load of wash, there was a bunch of random food in the fridge/freezer. Everything else was fine, beds were comfortable and there was a good amount of space for our family of 5. The view was beautiful and it was close to rafting and some very pretty waterfalls.

Winter Wonderland

We had a wonderful time staying along the beautiful Kennebec River. Chris was very punctual with his thoughtful responses to my questions before and during our stay. If you're thinking about visiting in the winter, my only recommendation would be to come with good winter tires or AWD/4WD. The drive is fairly steep and although very well maintained by the plowing contractor, it is tricky when covered in 6". Gorgeous area, we will be back!

The owner was very receptive and accommodating when we needed to adjust the dates of our stay. The location was perfect as we were attending a wedding 1/2 a mile away! We had everything we needed as far as kitchen needs and linens, the space suited us well and the beds were comfortable. There were some cobwebs and mouse droppings which I would expect if the place had not been occupied for a while but it had been rented just days before us. The biggest issue though was that there was an overpowering petroleum/kerosene type smell that was coming from the basement. It was nauseating at times, even with the windows open. Had it not been for that, the stay would have been much more enjoyable.

Great location and cozy, rustic cabin!We had a great stay at this cabinā€”it was in a good location, really close to everything we planned to do. The house has partial views of the lake and easy access to it, with a restaurant and coffee shop just a short drive away. The cabin itself is super cozy, with warm wood interiors and thoughtful decor that made it feel very welcoming. It would have made our stay better if there was a fire pit or space to have a campfire to relax by. Theres also no use of the wood stove inside, although being summer we wouldn't have used it anyway. If we were staying in the colder months thatā€™s a must! The only downside was that the house wasnā€™t left very clean by the previous guests, so we had to tidy up a bit when we arrived. We did book last-minute, though, so that might have been a factor.Overall, weā€™d definitely recommend this place to others looking for a peaceful and well-located getaway.

A Peaceful Vacay

We decided to go away for Christmas for the first time and I am so happy we chose this adorable home to stay in. The home is out in an area that is not very populated which was so nice. There isn't any Internet which was not an issue for us, although two of us also had no cell service while the other two did. The home is exactly as shown in the pictures which I can say from experience does not always happen lol. I would definitely recommend if you want to just get away from it all.

Annual deer camp. Really neat camp. Slept 4 and 5 of us really well. Very impressed by how well stocked the house was with things like linens, paper products and kitchen supplies.The only trouble is access. Its built into a hillside so all entries are stairs. We had snow, which we look forward too but outside entries iced up leaving the interior garage stairs. The stairs inside the garage are narrow and steep. You get used to them but theyre tricky for the older crowd. Listing should note the pictured wood stove is not for use. My group and I burn wood at home and were looking forward to warm up by the fire as we often do after a daybin the woods, but its use was not permitted. Totally get it, most people cant be trusted in a pine camp with open flame.Again, neat spot, very comfortable, met our needs very well. If we hunt the forks again, we'll be back!

Originally from Upstate New York where I learned to fly fish, I moved to Maine where I found home and my wife. Took up ruffed grouse (i.e. partridge) hunting, when I adopted my hunting dogs. We fell in love with the house we are putting on VRBO, and we want to share our love of the Maine outdoors with our guests. This is our first time hosting, and we hope that we will get some good feedback, as well as some feedback to make the place more appealing. We chose this location because of its central location - you can get to the Kennebec Valley or up to The Forks or Jackman in a short time. So much to choose from. Considering I used to drive from Southern Maine for a day trip in The Forks, this is a lot easier!

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

We love the privacy that the property affords being surrounded by trees, and we especially love the sun room where we can kick back and relax while enjoying the scenery. In the cooler months, that wood stove kicks out a great amount of heat that keeps the whole place cozy. Get away from it all and be close by to the outdoors.
