Nestled on a sandy dune, just a few easy steps from beautiful Lake Michigan, Blue View Cottage is a perfect family retreat. A vintage A frame, it's been completely renovated to house 8 people comfortably. It maintains a rustic charm, while providing brand new amenities.

Surrounded by sandy dunes and forests for exploring and hiking, Blue View provides easy access to all of the glory of Great Lakes activities, swimming in the clean clear water, fishing, boating, glorious sunsets and campfires on the beach. Loads of adventures await young and old alike in the villages of Pentwater and Silver Lake.

The cottage has whitewashed rafters, rustic barn floors, a new kitchen with farmhouse sink and finishes. Two cozy queen bedrooms look out on the sand dunes downstairs and Lake Michigan upstairs. There is also an upstairs bedroom that sleeps four in new twin beds.

The original Knotty Pine living room looks out on a deck and a short flat path to Lake Michigan. Both upstairs and downstairs decks provide panoramic views of the lake, perfect for watching freighters, sailboats and glorious sunsets.

Beach is never overly busy even on holiday weekends. Occasionally owners use the adjacent beach when visiting their cottage located up the dune. Second cottage may be available groups of more than eight, contact owners if you need more space.

This was a wonderful stay. The beach was great and the upper deck had a beautiful view. The upper bedrooms do have steep stairs so be aware if anyone in your group has limited mobility. Our dog even got in on the fun and had her first swim. Highly recommend this place!

Lake Michigan Beach Vacation

Pat and Diana are great hosts and this is the perfect location for a Lake Michigan beach vacation. This was our fourth stay at Blueview and we enjoyed the weather and views all week long. The beach is perfect and this cottage is steps away from the shore. Plenty of towels, comfy beds and more.

Family Beach Vacation

This was our fifth time staying at Blueview and it never disappoints. The rustic cottage is tastefully appointed and has everything you need. Just a short walk down to the best beach in the world and the clearest water. The Driftwood neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Pat and Diana are awesome hosts who respond quickly to guests. Our three children always enjoy the upstairs bunk room and the surrounding area has so many activities to choose from. We canā€™t wait for our next opportunity to stay at Blueview!

Perfect lake cottage

We stayed two weeks in Pat and Dianneā€™s cottage and loved every minute. Lake Michigan is so amazing and this house gave us views and the sound of waves from nearly every window. It was hard to leave. The house has everything we needed and not at all cluttered like some other lake cottages weā€™ve stayed in. Also very very clean! If you stay more than a week, being extra bathroom tissue, dish washing items and extra clothes - thereā€™s no washer on site. We will definitely be back!

Beach Party

I cannot say enough about the beach, lake and fire pit set up at this property on expansive Lake Michigan. It will exceed your expectations. We all kept commenting that you would think you were on the Ocean in the Carolinaā€™s, but better. We rented a second house just north and although that house was more ā€œsubstantial,ā€ we choose to hang out at this house most of the time as beach just canā€™t be beat. Large newer TV in the front A-frame, worked well for movie nights while listening to the waves. If you are looking for lavish accommodations or large bedrooms and bathrooms this might not be the place for you, but the beach vibe overcame these shortcomings for our crew. The water and beach were truly some of the best Silver Lake has to offer.

Private Beach, Rustic Accomodations

Cannot beat the location, the beach access, and the neighborhood. It's tranquility on lake Michigan to the max. It was really a beautiful beach and the home did accomodate our family of 5 plus dog well. We had a fantastic week and really left sun drenched and happy. We felt the house was a bit more rustic than we appreciated from the listing. Specifically, It has no insulation which required the intermittent use of turbo fan heaters (provided) all night. Compounding this the blankets provided in the loft bedroom (4 twin beds) were paper thin and didn't provide ample warmth. Additionally, there are NO extra towels or blankets provided so be sure to have some on you. It's clear that this is a rental designed for maximum profit not an owners vacation home. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just plan accordingly. If middle lake Michigan coast is your desire this is really a great location. Not sure we would stay there again, but we would definitely recommend it!

Beach Week at Blueview

Once again, our star at Blueview was more than we could ask for. Steps away from the greatest beach in the world, this rustic cottage has everything you need. A short drive from Pentwater and Silver Lake if you need an excuse to get out, but we spent our week in the warm waters of Lake Michigan. Pat and Diana were gracious hosts and check in was smooth and simple. We look forward to more stays at Blueview in the coming years.

Relaxing getaway with great location

The cottage is located in a perfect spot. A few minutes from Stoney and not to far for bigger cities like Pentwater or Ludington. We enjoyed walking on the beach and down the street. We loved the local bakers and road side farmers stands. All in all it was a great vacation!

Quaint cottage on an unforgettable private beach property located just south of Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Three generations of our family had a wonderful stay including campfires, lake swimming, and beautiful sunsets. Close to lots of other fun that we enjoyed including tubing the Stoney River, Dune rides with Mac and multiple trips to the Whippy Dip for any kind of ice cream you could want. The no frills cottage handles the basics with the amazing location being the draw.

Charming Beach Home Getaway

This beach home was just what we needed for a relaxing weekend away. The pictures do not do this place justice and in fact the space felt bigger than we were anticipating. The best part is the private beach that is just steps from the back door of the property. Could not recommend this place enough. Just an FYI that while there is wifi, due to location it is not strong enough to support most web activity. If you were planning to work remote from this cabin I'd recommend working from a coffee shop in one of the many nearby towns.

A Lake House with a beautiful view and private beach

We loved our stay! The house was comfy and had that wonderful lake house feeling! Days were spent on the beach and nights around a campfire overlooking Lake Michigan! Will definitely visit again!

Steps from lake

Peaceful vacation for our family. Restaurants and towns are 15-30 minute drive away, but that means it is nice and quiet lakeside. The triangle houses have rustic charm and we would come again.
