We would like to clarify a few important details about this guest’s stay. As Canadian hosts, we welcome guests from all backgrounds and pride ourselves on being respectful, responsive, and professional—something our past reviews and VRBO records reflect clearly. In this case, the guest was dissatisfied with some of our responses to their requests, including an attempt to cancel part of their reservation just days before arrival, which was not allowed under our cancellation policy. Despite this, we made every effort to assist, even offering to help rebook the time through another platform—though unfortunately, due to the short notice, this wasn’t successful. The guest also attempted to sublet the property to relatives on two separate occasions, which is against our house rules. We were present at our seasonal home on the adjacent property for one week of their three-week stay and always respected their privacy completely. For the remaining two weeks, we were away. We encourage open communication and were easily reachable both through the app and in person. Given the challenges during this stay, we would not be comfortable hosting this guest again
