The apartment is on the ground floor of a countryside house. It is a bedroom, living/dining room, kitchen and WC shower room. All living facilities are private but the garden, swimming pool, BBQ paella house and two hectares terraces of olives and almond trees are shared with the host. I live alone in the house above floor and very often I am available to help you. We are nearby half way between Alicant and Valencia and very close to Alcoy, Cocentaina Muro de Alcoy and the Costa Blanca (Altea, Benidorm, Villajoyosa).

Beniqueen accommodates maximum of two people only, who would like disconnecting from the urban zones. It is ideal for adults who appreciate a calm and pleasant environment, with beautiful surroundings. A perfect spot for anyone who needs to focus and concentration on their work or holiday. The accommodation is not suitable for children.

Please note there is a friendly dog unleashed in the garden. If you are not an animal lover, this is not your destination.

The neighborhood is very quiet and around the property are beautiful hills and mountains. If you like cycling or walking, you will enjoy the area.

Alcoy, Cocentaina and Muro de Alcoy where you can find public transport, shopping and banks are more or less 10 km away from the house.

For a day tour, you can visit inland villages as Agres, Bocairent, Guadalest and on the Mediterranean coast Altea, Moraira and Javea in Costa Blanca. They are more or less 50 km from the house across a picturesque mountain road.

* Smoking indoors is not permitted. Please note we are in an area of a fire risk. Be very careful with cigarette butts.
* Pets are not allowed. My dog is not used to interact with other animals. Please do not feed the dog but feel free to give all organic trash to the ducks and chickens.
* We appreciate the tranquillity of rural environment. Party and guests are not allowed. Please try not been noisy and if you could be so kind, avoid bashing the doors.
* Note that all water is recycled for plants. Please minimize the use of detergents whenever possible.
* Please turn off the lights and close windows and doors when leaving. If is a sunny day, open the windows to warm up the flat. Avoid leaving wet towels indoors. If it's a raining day, please take it inside the barbecue. These are to avoid humidity indoors which will keep you healthy.
* If you need to turn on the electric stove, please keep the bedroom´s door closed. You must switch off the gas stove in the sitting room before you go to bed. Please do not forget it as it could be very dangerous.
* On arrival a refundable deposit of 100 Euros damage protection is asked.

Spacious apartment in lovely surroundings

We had a very enjoyable week at Beniqueen. The views from the garden of the surrounding coutryside are fantastic. Ricardo was very attentive and a wonderful host. Thank you very much.

Lovely apartment in a fantastic location with spectacular views.

We enjoyed a fabulous five night break at Beniqueen. Ricardo is the perfect host, always friendly and helpful, with suggestions of things to do and places to visit. The apartment is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the views from the swimming pool could not be more spectacular. Ricardo provided us with grapes from his garden and eggs from his chickens and he certainly made our stay a memorable one. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Beniqueen.

A centre of calm

Lovely and remote in a rural environment. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the views are spectacular. We enjoyed day trips to Valencia and Altea and smaller towns. Some days we never left (other than for a loaf of bread) Ricardo is an interested and interesting host, with lots of useful knowledge. Celestena the real owner of the property (a very friendly dog) gave us a lot of attention and we enjoyed walking her among the olive terraces.

Beniqueen stay

This is a very rural, quiet location with views of hills and Olive groves. Beautiful traditional Spanish villages to visit locally with no crowds. Despite no Aircon, the apartment stayed cool. The apartment had everything that we required. Our host Ricardo was extremely helpful, not just for our comfort, but for local information. His lovely dog, Celestina has free range of the grounds and will visit you, she is very friendly.

Fantastic apartment and host!

We stayed at Beniqueen for six nights whilst visiting friends and the local area. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including a great deal of information on what to do within the surrounding area. The views of the landscape from the pool area are impressive and the apartment importantly stays cool throughout the middle of a hot summer’s day. Ricardo is a fantastic host and will go out of his way to make you feel welcome, including providing fruit grown on his property and eggs from his chickens. He is very proud of what he has built there and I would recommend his place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of the country.

A rural idyll

Beniqueen is unique. An obvious longterm labour of love on the part of Ricardo, our host. A haven of tranquillity with 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounding hills and mountains. A comfortable, well-equipped apartment. A joy to return to after a day's walk or rockclimb (to be greeted enthusiastically by Celestina, a most wonderful dog). A treasure indeed! We fully recommend it!

Geweldig!

We hebben een week mogen genieten in en van Ricardo's paradijsje. De uitzichten vanaf de verschillende terrassen zijn onovertroffen. Het moderne appartement is van alle gemakken voorzien. Geen airco, maar ook bij heet augustus-weer redelijk koel. Ricardo was een zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame gastheer en vol interessante verhalen. De hond Celestina is een schat. De omgeving is zeer interessant en ruig. Mooie wandeltochten mogelijk, bezienswaardigheden en authentieke stadjes. Je bent in "deep spain"! Wij keren hopelijk terug!

El espacio es maravilloso, la piscina, sin ser muy grande, se disfruta una barbaridad, a lo largo y ancho de su mucho espacio exterior tiene varios rincones con sus mesas y sus sillas donde disfrutar de buenas vistas y tranquilidad. Ricardo es un anfitrión excelente, muy atento y detallista, respetando en todo momento nuestra intimidad y muy muy majo. La perrita , Celestina, otro tanto. Paraíso Beniqueen!

Ha sido una semana de desconexión en Beniqueen. Ricardo y Celestina han sido unos anfitriones estupendos, y el pequeño rincón de paraíso que tienen, nos ha permitido disfrutar de la tranquilidad. Geweldig!

Wat hebben wij een heerlijke tijd gehad tijdens ons verblijf bij Ricardo en Celestina (de hond). Een heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen en te genieten van de omgeving. Verse vijgen en druiven in overvloed doen je denken dat je in de Romeinse tijd leeft ;). Ricardo geeft je voldoende tips over de omgeving als je daar behoefte aan hebt en is aangenaam gezelschap om mee te praten. Dat geldt ook voor Celestina, als je haar aandacht geeft krijg je die ook zeker terug, een schat van een hond! Ricardo is ook een zorgzaam iemand, vanwege het slechte weer wat wij de laatste dag hadden bood hij aan om een extra nacht te blijven slapen, gelukkig konden we toch vertrekken en was dit aanbod niet nodig. Nogmaals het was een geweldig verblijf, twijfel niet een boek eens een vakantie hier. Lees alle reviews, ze kloppen allemaal. 5 sterren meer dan verdiend! Ricardo en Celestina bedankt!!!

Wir durften zwei Wochen lang die Gäste von Ricardo und Celestina sein und es war einfach wunderschön! Das Gesamtpaket ist noch schöner, als man auf den Fotos vermuten kann. Ricardo ist ein unfassbar guter Gastgeber, sehr offenherzig und wertschätzend und hat immer einen super Insider-Tipp auf Lager! Die Auszeit in Beniqueen war erholsam und wir werden auf jeden Fall zurück kommen! Man kann es jedem nur empfehlen, wenn man für kurz oder lang seinen Alltag hinter sich lassen möchte.

Absolutely enjoyed this relaxing location

Like Ricardo kindly warned before accepting the booking: you have to like dogs (the famous Celestina who will do anything to convince you that sharing your meal with here is the rule, but it is not) and you have to like a quiet relaxing environment. The pool is a very big plus when you go in the summer (because that is important too you should not dislike warm or hot for some weather). The house is clean and there is enough to prepare your own meals. Ricardo is a very relaxed man. He keeps the distance if you prefer that and he will be able to tell you a whole lot if you enjoy that. For us it was absolutely a good holiday.

Beniqueen is THE best

This was our first time visit to the Valencia region of Spain and Benniqueen met up to all of our expectations. Ricardo (the host) speaks excellent English and provided everything we needed to make our stay relaxing, private and at ease. Communication was excellent prior to our booking and he provided superb directions from Valencia airport. The accommodation is set in totally peaceful and tranquil surroundings, with the apartment having everything needed for our stay. Ricardo provided fresh peaches from the orchard each morning and excellent tips on where to shop and eat locally. The supermarkets and local patisserie are fairly close to beniqueen and a short car drive can offer some spectacular views and scenery. We had many laughs with Celestina (his beautiful and well trained dog) and it is very clear his many years of work at the property simply add to providing amazing accommodation for guests. If you’re looking for tranquility, calm and peace, Beniqueen is the place to go and it can also offer an ideal base for a more action packed holiday. Fantastische bestemming voor rustzoekers

Wij, stel 70plus, hebben 2 heerlijke weken gehad op het landgoed van Ricardo en zijn hond Celestina. Het huis was schoon, comfortabel en smaakvol ingericht en ook het bed was prima. De keuken was compleet en prettig om in te kokkerellen. Rondom het huis waren er diverse terrassen waar je zowel in de zon als schaduw kon zitten. Het huis is hoog gelegen met rondom prachtige panorama's. Naast het paellahuis bij het zwembad is een klein beschut terras waar je geweldige zonsondergangen kan meemaken. De omgeving is bergachtig met kalkrotsen en het toeren in het achterland van de Costa Blanca is absoluut een aanrader. Zo nu en dan een bezoekje aan de kust is heerlijk. Voor ons waren Altea en La Vila Joiosa favoriet. Kleinschalig en niet te toeristisch. Heerlijk voor een lunch en wat flaneren op de boulevard. Ricardo is een vriendelijke man en zijn hond Celestina is zo mogelijk nog vriendelijker. Zij wil altijd pleasen en vriendje met je zijn Wanneer je houdt van rust en natuur is dit de 'place to be'. Mogelijk dat we nog eens terug gaan, misschien dan in een ander jaargetijde. Aad Kleijweg en Sietske (Francisca) Onderwater.

super séjour à Beniqueen du 2 août au 16 août 2018

Ricardo nous a très bien reçu dans sa maison à Millena. Merci pour sa discrétion et sa présence très utile. Il a su nous faire découvrir et aimer sa région. Ricardo parle toutes les langues et si vous insistez un peu il sortira de chez lui pour discuter avec vous tranquillement sur la terrasse au bord de la piscine avec un bon petit verre. Son appartement est très confortable et très bien équipé. Nous sommes à 1 heure de route des plages et de l'agitation touristique et le soir nous nous retrouvons au calme au frais pour prendre un dernier bain dans la piscine et regarder les couchés de soleil en compagnie de Celestina la chienne de Ricardo qui est très attachante et très gentille. Merci Ricardo pour ces super vacances nous reviendrons te voir avec plaisir, continue à apprendre le français et nous nous apprenons l'espagnol. Pour Ricardo et Celestina à tout à l'heure.

Magische plek waar rust overheerst en stilte domineert

Inderdaad landelijk gelegen, huiselijk gezellig ingericht, de keuken goed uitgerust, het bed zalig zacht... . Perfect dus om een geslaagde vakantie mogelijk te maken. Ricardo, de warme gastheer, laat je ongestoord meegenieten en geeft tal van suggesties (uitstapjes in de verrassend mooie streek, streekrestaurants, festiviteiten, .. ) Welopgevoede Celestine en Predo vervolledigen het plaatje. Enige minpunt : we beschikten slechts over een week om hiervan te genieten. Bedankt Ricardo, tot ziens !

Wonderful!!

Well, what can I say, the most beautiful place, relaxing, lovely scenery. The host Ricardo is extremely kind and helpful and a truly lovely person who will do anything to make you feel comfortable, he loves his home and has worked very hard making it what it is.The apartment has everything you could possibly need and Ricardo is there to help with anything at all. His house is in a wonderful area and I honestly didn't want to leave, it's spectacular. Ricardo is a great animal lover and has ducks, chickens and his 2 dogs Celestina and Preto, they are such gorgeous dogs and love people ( they are in charge lol) . This place is one for dog lovers . All in all this was the best place I have stayed in all my years travelling . If you like peace and relaxation and dogs this is the place for you. It is up in the mountains with fantastic views. I am ready to go back now and I only arrived home yesterday!! A car is necessary . I would highly recommend to any animal lovers. I'm missing Ricardo ( one of the most lovely, kind men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting)and lovely Celestina and Preto already. We shall be back!! Thanks to Ricardo..he's amazing. Séjour inoubliable

Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique chez Ricardo. Le lieu est magnifique,la vue sur les oliviers est extraordinaire, l'appartement est très agréable et confortable et la piscine est la cerise sur le gâteau. Quant à Ricardo c'est un hôte exceptionnel, avenant, à l'écoute et ouvert à la discussion. Celstina et Preto ( les 2 chiens) sont également des hôtes merveilleux et très affectueux. Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Pasamos unos días increíbles. El lugar es fantástico : una vista magnífica a olivos, un apartamento muy cómodo y limpio y la piscina es la guinda en el pastel. En cuanto a Ricardo es un huésped muy atento y agradable con el que hemos pasado unos momentos muy agradables charlando. Y por fin Celestina y Preto ( les perros) son también huespédes de gran calidad y muy cariñosos . Seguro que volvamos un día.

Extraordinarily beautiful place.

We booked for a 4 week stay at this incredible place. Firstly Ricardo our host was absolutely amazing and so helpful with all our requirements and needs. The facilities and surrounding views are breathtaking. We would recommend Beniqueen 100%. Tranquillity personified. Ideal for couples who love nature and the natural beauty of being surrounded by mountains. A place for quiet reflection, providing total relaxation. Not a place to stay if you require noise of any kind. Definitely ideal for a couple or single person looking for total peace. We would definitely book to stay at Beniqueen again. You'd be hard pressed not to fall in love with it. There are several beautifully quaint little villages which provide shops, cafes and restaurants for all your needs. Everywhere we went was absolutely immaculate. The local population take huge pride in ensuring the cleanliness of their countryside.
