Wade ranch is a working ranch and a registered Kansas Agritourism business. You will see cattle and crops from your bedroom window! We also offer private hunting packages. You will have the house to yourself, but please understand that there may be need for the farmer or a hunter to access the drive around the property. The farmhouse was built in 1869 and has a unique and interesting history. While it has been updated, we celebrate the charm of its age. Many unique aspects of the home have been left to preserve and maintain its historic value and character. Even though we are less than 30 minutes from Olathe, we are very secluded and private. You will drive about 2 miles of gravel from either direction around the lake from I-35.

Hillsdale Lake and Wildlife Area is just a up the road and many lake activities are available to enjoy such as boating, fishing, hunting, a wildlife refuge, marina,swim beach and more. The Saddle Ridge equestrian area has about 32 miles of marked trails available to horseback riders! Hillsdale shooting range is about 5 minutes away on the backside of the dam.

Wildlife is abundant in the area. Do not be surprised if you hear coyotes, owls and other animals at night.

As we said in the intro., this is a working ranch. Animal and critters are living here too. There might be an occasional harmless pest that will find its way inside. We do treat the home to keep this from happening, but please understand this is not the city and sometimes frogs, bugs, mice, etc make their presence known. We make every effort to prevent this from happening.

We have two barn cats that might occasionally come by the house to check things out. Their names are Goose and Maverick. Please have them stay outside so they can continue to work hard keeping those pests at bay! Sometimes, they pretend to nap on the porch. Don’t be fooled, they are not really sleeping. This is their stealth way of catching any wayward critters in the act. At least that’s what they “tail” us! If you will be bringing your own pets and need us to relocate Goose and Maverick for your stay, please just let us know 24 hours in advance.

You will have access to the entire home and be the only guests in the house. You can walk the large area around the house, driveway and entrance barn area which is approximately 5 acres. We ask that you not go past the machine sheds/silos or enter the barns or garage. Our driveway is a quarter of a mile long, so there is ample space to enjoy. Check-in is 3pm and Check-out is 11am. We do offer late checkout upon availability. There is a $50 fee for a 4pm checkout upon approval and availability. Please understand that we cannot always guarantee availability as it depends on our schedule.

We also offer private hunts at an additional cost during hunting seasons.
