A nice little place secluded off the highway down a couple of gravel/dirt county roads. Great location if you are interested in the area such as smallmouth fishing on the Kings River(Me), outdoor rec, or just peace and quiet away from it all. The history is also neat which you can learn some about. Host Ben made check in and check out very easy for me given my arrival and departure times. Good for single or couple but a family made need other accommodations seeing there is only 1 bed and no bedroom. It’s an old converted 1 room schoolhouse so they have made the 1 room a bath/laundry room…..which makes sense. Be ready to be welcomed by a few friendly local dogs and cats alongside the mooing of the surrounding fields which isn’t a bad thing. The sky was extremely clear when I stayed which allowed for a truly awesome view of the night sky.

Home away from home

My husband and I stayed here at the schoolhouse and enjoyed the peace and wildlife. So much history inside this place! Would definitely recommend for a quiet getaway.

Quiet stay in the Ozarks

The one-room schoolhouse was a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding Ozark trails and views. Halfway between the Buffalo National Senic River and cool Eureka Springs.

I don't like writing bad reviews first and foremost. But here goes. The grass had not been mowed in months it appeared. Firepit overgrown. After dark we had someone in a truck show up in the road right next to the building, when I walked out to check on it, a guy ran around my vehicle back to the truck in the road, then they left. There was vehicles going by all hours of the night, several stopped outside, then left. This place is very remote. Got maybe 2 hours of sleep. Tried making coffee the next morning, old filter, molded coffe grounds in the maker ruined that. Took a couple of paper towels and wiped the floor by sink, not gonna mention what was on the paper towels. Couch worn out, chair worn out. We left after one night of a 2 night stay. Be very cautious of this rental. If you do rent it, lock your doors. Owners were notified with a subtle apology.

Weekend getaway

Property with lots of history and in the middle of absolute nowhere! It seemed like we could see every star in the sky. Great getaway with Buffalo River trails and elk sightings nearby. Local eatery in Kingston was great. Great to get away from Tv and social media for a few days.

Amazing getaway

It was an amazing get away to unwind and unplug. The school house is exactly how it's advertised, clean, cozy and quaint. Keith was friendly and a great host. We hope to return in the future. Huntsville is a charming small town and worth checking out. Lots of hiking close by.

Old School house

The host was very accommodating. When we told him we were having a.c issues he fixed immediately. The property has so much history in it. The location was great, so quiet & serene .

Charming Old School House

We loved staying at this old schoolhouse. Kitchen was just right to make our meals. Heaters kept us warm on the chilly nights. Star gazing was amazing! Keith is a great host. 25 minutes to get to the Buffalo National River area and enjoyed several hiking trails. As a former school teacher it was a fun experience!

This was most definitely better than staying at some expensive hotel. It was quiet, private, and quaint. All we had to bring were our clothes and a few groceries. It was absolutely perfect and romantic and we will be booking again when close to that area. Couldn’t have asked for anything more! The host, Keith, was precious and accommodating! The best!

Beautiful and Quiet

The only issue I had was the phone number that VBRO had for contact completely wrong number, that being said had nothing to do with the property itself the owner Keith I will remember the rest of my days just simply an Awesome individual.

Very unique property. Renovated OLD Schoolhouse. Very quaint and quiet. loved the deck where you could watch the stars...sooooo many stars lol. I know there aren't more stars in the country, but you can certainly see more of them at night here! We were on our 1st year anniversary and had a fabulous time!

A Piece of History

Staying in a one room school was an interesting experience. I wish we had had more time to explore the immediate area but we were too busy trying to take in so many of the sights nearby. We visited Terra Studios near Elkins. Crystal Bridges, War Eagle Mill,and Eureka Springs. Harrison is a good central location so maybe next time we can explore to the east for some more lovely parts of Arkansas.

Cozy and peaceful getaway

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this unique historic schoolhouse. The owner provided everything we could possibly require and the property was exactly as described in the listing. The schoolhouse was central to all of the activities that we wanted to do and a peaceful place for some rest and relaxation. We enjoyed having dinner and watching the fireflies from the spacious front porch and taking evening walks along the tree lined country roads. Mr. Keith was a gracious host and we felt so welcome. Highly recommend!
