I finally received the refund that was promised, which is why I am rating this 2-stars instead of 1-star. I honestly have never had a worse experience with a VRBO rental. The house was left unlocked, with unfinished plumbing work upon our arrival, including a note on the boiler saying "THIS TANK IS BAD!! NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. 2-19-26." (the day we arrived!). No regular heat or hot water, and no communication from the Owner until we reached out to them (via property manager), when the basement started flooding! We were a group with 4 young kids, and had to spend our entire first night figuring out what we were going to do if the issues weren't fixed. Although it was finally fixed the next day, I spent my vacation talking to the plumber more than I even talked to the Owner/PM about the issues. I am completely appalled at the lack of communication. They offered a 50% refund since the issues were fixed for our 2nd night, but considering what a headache this whole experience was, I expected the Owner to give us a full refund. They claimed to offer us an alternative property, which was a non-VRBO rental that actually was not feasible for our stay, so that does not count from my perspective.Additionally, there were zero instructions for the house (for garbage, wifi,etc), and although it was a beautiful house, it had the vibes of a personal home vs a rental which we found odd. Great location in Manchester, but be warned about the Owner and poor communication.
