Whimsical Wave at Miramar Beach -- sleeps 4!

Sitting on the sand of Miramar Beach, this quirky two level home is ideal for the vacationer who wants to relax and have fun on the beach. As you enter the main level of the Whimsical Wave, the large picturesque window with ocean views will immediately grab your attention. Not your average vacation rental, this home boasts interesting architectural features such as the high beam ceilings, warm wood paneling, a spiral staircase, and many interesting nooks and curves.

On the main level, the guests will enjoy a living space with breathtaking views and plenty of funky details that give the Whimsical Wave its' charm. The living room is complete with a new leather couch that pulls out into a queen sofa sleeper, as well as a flat screen TV, two swivel chairs, a fireplace, and a secondary couch near the alcove. The new configuration (not pictured) is ideal for relaxing and cozying up while enjoying the stunning views only a beachfront home can offer.

The lower level also boasts amazing views and a larger balcony with a table for four and a barbeque for outdoor cooking. This level also has a full kitchen, a living room with a fireplace and one bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom features a queen size bed and a flat screen television. Attached to the bedroom is the master bathroom with a full shower. Please note that all spaces are designed with an open concept for a spacious feel, so instead of a solid bedroom door, the home features a privacy screen to separate the bedroom from the living room. Additional sleeping space is available in the living room with the sofa sleeper couch.

Whimsical Wave is a unique property on one of the most beautiful semi-private beaches in the area Just a few steps from your living space to the sand, this home provides everything you need for a relaxing getaway. And, if you do decide to explore our beautiful area, Montecito's lower Village is only a mile away and downtown Santa Barbara is a short 10 minute drive.

Wonderful whimsy indeed

The house was as wonderfully quirky as advertised. So many interesting handcrafted details to admire. Stunning location. My only complaint is that while the kitchen is very well outfitted for cooking there are absolutely no supplies on hand. Not even salt and pepper. There is coffee and tea but be prepared to bring everything else.

Best location above the sea

My sister in law stayed here for the weekend, I can’t say enough amazing things about the location. When the tide was high you felt like you were on a boat! Waking up in the ocean, that was actually my favorite part. I also loved the proximity to the Rosewood( 6 min walk) It’s where I usually stay when coming to visit, so it was nice to walk there for dining, their food is incredible. It would be nice if the home offered more amenities.. like bikes, or even coffee/tea in the kitchen. I was not a fan of the booking process, after booking with VRBO you have to go through a vacation rental mgmt company. This made the process a little longer and more complicated for me. The mgmt company charges you a 2k deposit, they give you the impression you’ll get it back right away( I was assuming upon checkout, but you don’t get it back for several weeks) The cleaning fee was also higher than any rental I’ve stayed at and the place was not very clean upon checking in. It was very dusty, the floors didn’t feel clean and a lot of spider webs. Regardless of all that the home itself is very special, and cozy. The neighbor was also very friendly.

Excellent

I've stayed on Miramar many times over the years and it's my favorite place on earth. I've stayed at the Whimsical Wave last year and again this year and it's the most unique and beautiful home on this beach. I have a yacht in Santa Barbara harbor that I can stay on any time I come to town but this home will keep drawing me back again and again. I'll be back again to stay here soon. It's the most peaceful and beautiful place there is. I'd stay here for the rest of my life if I could.

Unique house with great location

Lovely home with convenient beach access! More than desires beach traffic though, people walking back and forth, considering this was a private beach.

Funky & Very Cool!!

This property is unique in that its not traditionally pretty but the intricate workmanship touches of this little beachfront jewel is so unique. My family of four stayed at this property and absolutely loved it! My main concern was that there may not be enough comfortable sleeping accommodations since there's only one queen size bed but there's a pull out couch bed and 2 other comfortable couches to sleep on. We marveled at how cool it is that it's not like any other house on the private accessed beach of Miramar Beach. The Hobbit House is fully stocked with anything we needed, be it in the kitchen or even to use the binoculars to look out every morning while enjoying my coffee. It's Very Clean, safe and fully-equipped with beqch supplies (i.e. boogie boards, surf boards, beach chairs, beach towels). We loved it and think you will too.

Hobbit House Honeymoon

The location of the Hobbit House was most enjoyable! We loved being right on the beach, hearing the waves crash, watching the dolphins swim by, the pelicans fly by, and taking walks. We appreciated the unique architecture and creative design of the house.There are many excellent dining options near by which we enjoyed. We were happy that we choose the Hobbit House for our Honeymoon and plan on staying there again! Melinda & Gary

Numerous things need fixing or updating

Upstairs bathroom window must be frosted! There's a clear view from outside into toilet, tub, shower, and room beyond. Very disturbing. How can this have been left unattended to? Upper brown sleeping couch desperately needs a new mattress. My back has been very sore since my three nights there. Put a label on the kitchen sliding door that hides the coffee pot and/or leave the door ajar enough so it's obvious that it's not a permanent door. Spent 15 frustrating minutes trying to find it. Lighting is completely inadequate for reading. Light switches are in illogical places not related to the fixtures, and should be labeled in font big enough to read without using a flashlight and magnifiers.

Hobbit House on the East Beach is the best

You arrive at the hobbit house and the best is yet to come as you step through the beautiful interior towards the beach view. The pictures truly do not do it justice. You are immediately onto the beach which is very private and good for children and adults alike. The location is truly amazing, sandy beaches where the waves crash at night to help you fall asleep. There were tons of cool additional things like beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, as well as very nice kitchenware knives and glasses to use. There was Internet and TV, though we did not use them a ton because the beach is where we spent all day. There’s restaurants just up the road with to go food, as well as a nearby Starbucks. Overall, the only thing we would’ve done different is stay another day or two.

Great Spot

Steps to the water, can't do any better. Kitchen could use a few more "basics" like olive oil, soy sauce, but still a terrific property in every way. Appreciate the quality gas grill kept in good condition too.

Best beach stay by far

This rental is the closest to the water we have ever stayed at! And one of the most unique .. such detailed woodwork. We discovered something new every day. The place was very clean .. spotless in fact! Colorful sunrise was beautiful every morning and the endless sound of waves crashing close to the balcony was absolutely heaven. Will definitely come back .. thank you.
