I will say the host was quick to respond to messages and allowed us to drop our bags off early. That was the best thing about the experience. The security gate on the building had no lock. Anyone could walk up and open it. There was a full pitcher of water with two glasses waiting for us on the counter. I poured myself a glass and looked for a bottle of water but didn't find one. I asked our host if the building tap water was filtered and was told no, and that they did not provide any drinking water. Really? You can't provide even a small bottle of water for guests when they arrive, but you'll set out a pitcher of water that may or may not be safe to look good?The building itself was noisy. We heard other people and their pets regularly. I shave in the shower but the hot water ran out after 5 minutes the first day. So I used the bathroom sink which had a stopper that didn't drain properly. When I let our host know about those issues they arranged to fix both of them promptly. Great. But I was asked to "refrain from letting facial hair go down the drain." Really???The kitchen was barely outfitted and the coffee maker worked terribly. Furnishings were damaged, sparse or missing. What was there was cheap and uncomfortable. One reason I booked this place they advertised laundry facilities. But then we were told guests were not allowed to use them. When I complained and suggested a credit, I was told no. The overall feel was of glib, corporate penny pinching.
