Looking for the perfect family getaway? Sunset Peninsula is your place! Incredible destination for friends and family looking for both relaxation and adventure. This 4 bedroom / 2 bath retreat sleeps 13. Only 35 minutes from Auburn/Opelika. Great for school breaks, summer vacations, Auburn events (football, graduation, rush, etc.).

The spacious indoor and outdoor space allows for a peaceful getaway. Watch the sunrise and sunset and view the amazing wild life that Lake Martin has to offer - ducks, turtles, fish, geese, and even bald eagles. Local roads are paved and great for running/walking. Nature at it's finest draws in both adults and children.

Things to note
- Some of the windows in the main living space are cloudy, blurring the view. Still stunning views though!
- The seawall at the lake has some lose capstone. Be careful
- No parking area is strictly prohibited for vehicles due to septic tank underground pipes

Kinda Hooked!

We have enjoyed staying at this property multiple times. Our family have made some of the best memories here at Sunset Peninsula. We love the huge family room. Everything was perfect for our stay. I guess we are kinda hooked.

Memories at Sunset Peninsula

Wonderful place to enjoy the water and beautiful views in a serene quiet setting. It is near town which makes it easy to get provisions and grab something to eat. The property is level with no steps and directly on the water. The owners are very accommodating. Our next year’s visit is already booked!

I wouldn’t change anything about the house or grounds. My party consisted of only my girlfriend and me. So we had lots and lots of room.The view of the lake was beautiful from inside the den through lots of windows or outside on the dock. Sunsets were really pretty almost every evening. We even caught a nice catfish from the dock.

Perfect Family Getaway

This was the perfect place for our family. The space the house provides in the living area was outstanding. The views were spectacular. The outside water toys were a hit with EVERYONE. We took 2 boats with us and had ample dock space for two. Host was fantastic to work with, The entire family has said “this is our new spot for our annual family LM trip”. The grands said “this IS the new Waterhouse”.

Great family fun

The accommodations are spacious and outside docks and seating are great for family fun. Everything we needed for a wonderful week was provided. Owners are gracious and easy to work with. We reserve from year to year so that we won’t miss out on this piece of paradise.

Sunset Peninsula Is Consistently Great

Our family has gathered at Sunset Peninsula for four summer vacations. The owners and their property are consistently great. We love the large gathering spaces (inside and outside), fabulous lake access and views, and well equipped home. Vacationing there is relaxing, fun, and easy!

Great Thanksgiving

This property was great for an extended Thanksgiving weekend of family, friends and football. Great location and view of the lake. Easy drive into Auburn and surrounding areas. Good communication with owner. Highly recommend staying at this house!

Wonderful location!

We had one of best family vacations this year!!! This house is beautiful, clean and very spacious. I love that it’s right on the water and the view is breathtaking.. The owners response to questions is fast and helpful! Will rent again.

Fantastic!!

Our family of grown kids & grands had a great stay the week of the 4th. Matt was immediately responsive & helpful, plenty of seating, views were incredible - the walls of windows made us feel like we were on a houseboat in the water. Definitely plan to return - didn't want to leave!
