Bijou de Soleil is a charming 400 yr old holiday home in the Herault in the heart of the Languedoc region. Located between Beziers and Montpellier and only 30 minutes from the coast, in the village of Caux, 7 km from Pezenas. It is nestled amongst the sun-drenched vineyards and the surrounding beautiful countryside – in the South of France. The real Mediterranean region! The Languedoc has on average, more than 300 sunny days per year. The Languedoc is also the largest wine producing region in the world.

Bijou de Soleil is a 3 level village house including a basement. It boasts character with its stone exterior, Provence blue shutters and wood door. It has been recently renovated. It has an updated American kitchen, tile floor and stairwell, open beams, Master King Bed and 2nd bedroom Queen Bed with wood floors, adjoining (Jack & Jill) bathroom with new shower and additional toilette facilities in the basement plus a washer and dryer and french iron bed.
UK TV is a bonus and we also provide unlimited WiFi internet connection as well as unlimited phone calls to
local French landlines, over 200 International landline destinations and mobiles in the US and Canada.
Sleeps 4 comfortably, but will accommodate 6 with a sofa sleeper in living room if needed, and an extra full sized bed in the basement. Comes fully furnished for your holiday! Basement will accommodate your sporting equipment, camping gear, bicycles, kayak, etc. with street access for easy in and out.
Best of all, this is a lock up and go-turn-key property, no maintenance, so you can enjoy every minute of your vacation experience. Perfect for a weekend get a way, vacation or extended long term let.

The quaint medieval village of Caux dates back in history. The spectacular 12th century church dominates the village and the bells can be heard throughout the day. Just like a dream, it trully feels like a step back in time. The house is ideally situated within easy walking distance to the local Boulangerie (the croissants are some of the best in the South of France!), Patisserie, Green Grocer, Butcher, Pharmacie, Pizzaria, Bar & Post Office. Maison de village

Maison de village sans climatisation donc les nuits par les fortes chaleurs d'août ont été très difficiles surtout qu'il est impossible d' ouvrir la petite fenêtre de chambre qui donne directement sur la maison voisine à 2m de distance avec un maçon qui y a travaillé de 7h du matin a plus de 20h le soir et pendant tout notre séjour. Je ne parle même pas du vieux parquet qui dès qu'on pose le pied dessus, insupportable le grincement pour la personne qui dort à côté. Sinon chambre décorée avec beaucoup de goût et salle de bain petite, mais très bien agencée, il ne manquait rien. Pour le 1er étage cuisine fonctionnelle, salon très sombre et télé pas pour nous tout était en anglais. Merci à Sharman pour sa disponibilité et la propreté des lieux. Désolée Michele, mais en qualité prix séjour un peu cher vu l'emplacement et si vous saviez qu'avec les contraintes nettoyage covid il fallait beaucoup plus de temps, il ne fallait pas accepter les réservations immédiates car cela nous aurait éviter d'être si mal remboursé par Abritel qui ne sont vraiment pas sérieux d'ailleurs.

very charming place

It‘s been perfect for our family of three (with 15-year-old-teenage girl). The kitchen is well-equipped which is great because we enjoy cooking during holidays. Everything is clean and homely. Caux is an impressive, old little village but with everything you need for your daily needs round the corner. Parking was not complicated, despite our quite large caravan which could be left in a public parking area just a few minutes away. Neighbors are friendly, it feels very typically French (which is great), instead of just another tourist place. The Languedoc area is amazingly beautiful, we enjoyed our stay very much!

Jolie petit pied à terre

Petite maison typique du centre ville de la région. Nous avons été bien reçus! (Nécessaire de parler l'Anglais) car nos hôtes ne maîtrisent pas la langue de Molière. Un plateau de charcuterie, fromage et tomates cerises nous attendait sur la table de la salle à manger. Accompagné d'une bouteille de vin du pays et d'un petit mot de l'agence qui gère cette location. location avec un bon rapport qualité/prix. De nombreux sites à visiter aux alentours. Vieilles pierres, balades en montagne, activités de mer... il y en a pour tous les goûts.

Lovely overall but...

The village of Caux was under construction seige with the center road at times inaccessible, and the village sorely lacks a restaurant and/or a decent cafe. The apartment itself is indeed a jewel, with the only flaws in the gem rating a cramped shower, and the building being situated in a low income housing project that appears to gave been built around it. Apart from this it is a comfortable, well appointed and cozy nest from which to explore the wonderful city of Pezenas and surrounding countryside. We would return for a repeat visit had we not met a delightful woman with whom we became friends and who happily runs a B&B in the village.

An economical, comfortable house for a couple or a small family

This is a small, comfortable house in a small village. The house is suitable for 3 adults or a small family, don't try to pack in more people than that. The shared bathroom is quite small. The property manager ensures that you have everything you need including a well stocked kitchen (a definite plus after a long journey). The village is well located for touring the Languedoc region, the sea is not far away, interesting cities and smalller attractions are easily accessed from Caux. A nearby town, Pezenas, has most things that you may need. This is an economical vacation house that is comfortable and well located for touring the area.

We love to cook and enjoy the french cusine and let's not forget the delicious wine and cheese! The two of us are currently learning to speak French and we are members of Alliance Francaise in the Silicon Valley. We are both now retired and looking forward to more travels and new adventures both internationally and on the domestic home front.

Our house is located between Montpellier and Beziers in the Languedoc region and just a hop, skip and jump from neighboring Pezenas. This area is becoming a popular and more affordable vacation destination with all it has to offer. The location is perfect for fun day trips or to navigate to other popular destinations within France or Europe. The TGV and good roads make it easy to travel and get around. This particular property has charm and old world character, and to us, is truely a gem. We are delighted to share Bijou de Soleil with you.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Historic Caux is a quaint and authentic village where French is the main language spoken. The heart of the village is close by within steps to the (not one, but 2) boulangeries, which have some of the best croissants in the whole south of France! There is a patiserrie, butcher, green grocer and Pizza parlor, bar and cafe and more. There are several wineries and tasting rooms to sample the lovely wines of the region. Outside the village you are close enough to get to the bustling areas of Pezenas, Beziers or Montpellier. Don't forget to go to the open air market in Pezenas on Saturday mornings or, the local smaller market in Caux on Fridays.
Public parking is available a short walk from the house at the Panama Parking lot.
