Welcome to the Heritage House – A Historic and Charming Retreat on Mt. Washington

This home is a charming 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom residence built in 1920's. Nestled in the scenic Mt. Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh, this home combines classic architectural character with contemporary amenities, offering the perfect blend of history and convenience.

Relax in spacious living areas with many original details, or unwind in the cozy bedrooms designed for your comfort. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing meals, and the updated bathrooms provide a touch of luxury.

IDEAL LOCATION ON MT WASHINGTON: Getting around Pittsburgh from Shaler Street is incredibly convenient, with quick access to the city’s top attractions. The iconic views are steps away (4 min walk). The stadiums, ballpark, and arenas are just a short drive away (6-10 mins). The Universities are easily reachable as well, making the location ideal for visitors to the city's educational institutions. For museum lovers, the renowned Carnegie Museums, Heinz History Center and Andy Warhol are also nearby and easily accessible. Whether you prefer driving or public transit, everything Pittsburgh has to offer is just minutes away!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The home was very accommodating for our group of seven. The beds were very comfortable, and the home was clean and well-maintained. The location made it a breeze to get to and from Acrisure Stadium. The neighborhood was quiet and relaxed, which we really appreciated. I would definitely recommend this home to other families!

Very clean and great location. Host was very communicative and offered recommendations for places to visit and eat. We didn’t cook much but it was super nice to have coffee pods, sugar, and other spices available. Makes one less trip to the grocery!

The house was perfect for our group of 6. It was located in a nice, safe neighborhood and not far from an overlook of the city and several restaurants. The hosts were also very kind and communicative with lots of suggestions of things to do. Would absolutely stay here again if I’m ever in the area.

The house is newly completely renovated and was nicely done. It’s quaint, cute, and clean. Plenty of driveway parking, games, laundry, iron. A great all around experience. The host was great at communication and responded to inquiries very quickly. Kitchen was well stocked. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

This is a cute little house that worked great for our 6 senior women on a girls trip. The house has everything you need including one of the best beds I’ve slept in (I was in the master but the others were comfortable beds too. The location is great and close to sights visitors to the area might be interested in. I highly recommend it.

Five senior citizens stayed here for a long weekend. The home was clean, and the kitchen was very good for cooking for a crowd. The home was just as pictured on the website. Although the home had a few steps to the front door, the walk in shower on the first floor was great for one of us who had difficulty navigating in and out of a tub/shower. The host , John, was very easy to communicate with. The house rules were very simple, with minimal clean up required upon check out. Best of all, the light switches were labeled, which greatly assisted us in recognizing how to turn on/off the fan vs the light on the ceiling fixture.The location was good. Although street parking was sparse, the driveway provided plenty of space for the 2 vehicles we had. A third vehicle would have fit into the driveway easily.

We loved everything about our stay! We stayed at this location to visit my daughter for her graduation, and the family friendly aspect of this place made our weekend so special. The place was spotless and well taken care of, and had extra details like clean sheets, towels, and a coffee bar. The driveway was great and has new appliances. The owners were very communicative and friendly, and answered all of our questions. Great views, great location, and I can’t recommend this place enough for your Pittsburgh stay!

Everything was as advertised and very clean. The house had so much charm. The location was great. Even with the marathon shutting down streets, a Pirates game and Pitt graduation in Acrisure Stadium (the reason we were there), we were never more than 20 minutes from anywhere in the city, including parking right next to the stadium. Restaurants and the best view of the city were within walking distance. The host was very helpful working through my email error and ensured I received all the communication I needed.

This was a great place -one of the best we have stayed in. It was new, clean and well stocked. We also had a great time playing chess and foosball. We gave the location a 4 only due to the steep hills, while giving an incredible view of the city, might prove difficult in bad weather.

The hosts have a wonderfully charming, renovated home just a short walk from the grand view overlooking the city, the three rivers and the best Pittsburgh has to offer. We took the 10 minute driving trip to PNC Park to watch the Pirates play (a peach of a ballpark), went to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (20 minutes), visited Kennywood Amusement Park (25 minutes), and the Pittsburgh Zoo (just 15 minutes) north of town. We had a smoke alarm go off one night, I notified our host, and he coordinated a prompt maintenance visit with us to correct the problem - thanks. Great communications before, during, and after our 5 night stay made the whole experience worry-free. We had our adult kids and a toddler grandchild with us and the basement activity areas were enjoyable for all of us during after dark hours. The TV was helpful with many choices for evening viewing. We truly enjoyed and heartily recommend a stay with these hosts to those wanting easy downtown access without center city prices.

Heritage House is an impeccably kept property that we could relax in immediately - in the zen-like backyard, the front porch, living room or bonus room. Plenty of space for 8 adults to spread out and not feel crowded. We were too busy with a wedding to enjoy the cellar and games except as an extra bathroom or to do laundry (full size). The kitchen was a little crunchy with a lot of people with their own dietary needs but had a full size frog, freezer, all the basic utensils, cookware & serving ware that we needed. Pittsburgh is known for its hills but the front steps are especially steep for those who may have mobility problems. I'd suggest some chairs or additional luggage racks for the bedrooms as most of us came with 2 suitcases per room; as I age, I appreciate having my luggage raised. John was prompt in answering all our inquiries and is a gracious host. It met our needs perfectly!

Location, Location

This was the perfect place for my wife and I along with my daughter and son-in-law. It was minutes away from the home of our son, daughter-in-law and newborn 1st grandchild. The home was an older home that had several updates, and the small kitchen was great. We did a lot of cooking in it and brought the meals over to my son’s house. It was comfortable and cozy for us and had a large, long driveway that kept our vehicles from parking on the street. It was minutes away from Station Square on the Monongahela River, The City Overlook along Grandview Ave, and Southside along Carson Street. Plus, a few minutes more and we were downtown in the strip district, which is one of favorites places to wonder in the several Italian markets and many other shops. John Anderson, the owner, was wonderful. He responded promptly to any correspondence we sent him and was genuine about us having a positive experience, which we did! The basement, which was cool during the recent cold spell, had a dart board, foosball table and a few other games. When in town next time this will certainly be our happy place to book again. Lastly, it was clean, clean, clean!

Well maintained and appointed older home in historic and picturesque area of Pittsburgh. Close to downtown but yet far enough away to enjoy a more relaxed urban setting. Very comfortable home.
